Hello, Dear Ones. If you're reading this I'm having the 15 stapless taken out of my knee this morning. Say a little prayer it all goes well.
Okie dokie! The other day Mr. Precious was out running some errands and gave me a ringy dingy on the phone and told me, yes, he TOLD me to be ready to go somewhere in about 10 minutes when he got home. Being the most submissive one that I am, I obeyed! :)
Okie dokie! The other day Mr. Precious was out running some errands and gave me a ringy dingy on the phone and told me, yes, he TOLD me to be ready to go somewhere in about 10 minutes when he got home. Being the most submissive one that I am, I obeyed! :)
And am I ever glad I obeyed! He took me to Albany, the capitol of New York, to the pre-tulip festival that is held in Washington Park. Well, we were early as the festival really starts on the weekend. That's okay because there were no crowds. There are supposed to be over 100,000 tulips showing their pretty little flower heads. Also, the festival is a celebration of it's Dutch heritage as Albany is supposed to be the oldest Dutch settlement in America! When the weekend comes there will be music, children's activities and of course the crowning of the Tulip Queen. There is even a street scrubbing! Can you believe it? They actually scrub the street before the Tulip Queen and her court appear! I ain't scrubbing no street! :) Just sayin'. Anyway, this has been going on for 68 years.
Now I have to tell you, it's hard not to talk but I am going to shut my pie hole and let you see some of the most gorgeous blooms ever! It had just been sprinkling rain before we arrived so you'll see the tiny little rain drops clinging to the blooms. Okay, I'll shut up now...yes, I really will.
Sigh...
Did you love the tour of the tulips? There were a few hyacinths thrown in there but glory be! My photos really do not give justice to the real beauty of these blooms. After a long winter how wonderful to see God's spring popping out all over. I even have a few little bulbs that have popped their little heads up in my yard too.

I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~
Tiptoe Through The Tulips
Tiptoe through the window
By the window, that is where I'll be
Come tiptoe through the tulips with me
Oh, tiptoe from the garden
By the garden of the willow tree
And tiptoe through the tulips with me
Knee deep in flowers we'll stray
We'll keep the showers away
And if I kiss you in the garden, in the moonlight
Will you pardon me?
And tiptoe through the tulips with me
By the window, that is where I'll be
Come tiptoe through the tulips with me
Oh, tiptoe from the garden
By the garden of the willow tree
And tiptoe through the tulips with me
Knee deep in flowers we'll stray
We'll keep the showers away
And if I kiss you in the garden, in the moonlight
Will you pardon me?
And tiptoe through the tulips with me
~ sung by Tiny Tim
Oh lucky you! I wanted to go to Holland, MI this year but it's a 3 hour drive. Their festival opens this weekend too but I wanted to go before to avoid the crowds. Mr. Precious is a wise man! It's fantastic to see all the flowers en masse. I didn't know about Albany's history with the Dutch. Now that the stitches will be taken out you're officially on the mend! Wishing you continued improvement and better days ahead!
ReplyDeleteHappy Mother's Day too!
