Busy, Busy

Hello, Dear Ones! First of all I would like to apologize for not responding to your comments on the last couple of my posts! I'm sorry, please forgive me. I've just been so so busy!
I cut some beautiful lilacs from my bush for you. The blooms are gorgeous and the color is 50 times deeper than it was last year I think I'm doing something right! Not to mention how these smell ~ heavenly. Do you forgive me?
Spring is finally here and everything is popping up and looking very promising.
Except today. It was 43' this morning and only got to about 50' this afternoon.
Also it has poured buckets of rain, rain, rain.
But the weather promises to get back to being spring about the middle of the week.
We've been sleeping with our bedroom windows up and it feels so good. These little wind chimes are just below our bedroom so we hear the sweet chimes when the wind blows. I love that.

I wanted you all to know our little Carter is doing so well. She is totally off the steroids and almost each day her little body is getting back to her normal size. She is enrolled in softball for the very first time and she is loving it! Of course we had to go and see her first game. They only played for three innings. I think that's what you call it because I know knowing about sports! :) Again, thank you for all of your prayers for her. God certainly answered. I would remind Him each time I prayed that we had 'armies of prayer warriors lifting her up'. I know He knew that, but I just felt like I needed to say it, probably for myself. He's good.
We have the very nicest of neighbors. My neighbor across the street was cleaning out his ferns and asked if we wanted some? Shoot yeah! I was going to go to the nursery and buy ferns just for this spot! I think they'll spread pretty fast. I love ferns. See my makeshift birdbath? I turned a pot upside down and placed the bottom on top and filled it with water. The little birds don't care. You all know I'm just talented like that! :)  Oh, I was thrilled ~ I saw an eagle the other day. Not at my house but as I was driving out in a rural area! I almost cried as it just touched me so. I thought of the scripture that says those that wait upon the Lord will renew their strength and they will mount up with wings like eagles!
As for me, I'm doing well and I appreciate you all who have asked about me and prayed for me. Having the hardware taken out of my knee has set me back a bit and I will be going back to physical therapy this Friday. I'm bending my knee as much as I can but it still hurts like the dickens when I try to do 'normal stuff'. But I can walk using my cane, even if I do walk like Frankenstein! I am able to get out though and I can drive, just takes me a lot longer getting in and out of the car.
We've been busy watching our little grandbabies. We love that! We had both of them Friday night and had so much fun with them. All this being said is to tell you that I need to take a little break for a bit. Between the babies, me, spring and gardening (I've learned to crack that whip and tell Mr. Precious what I need done) and a new little hobby I'm starting, I just need a little more time for me and my thingys for a little bit.  I'll be back and I love you all ~ don't forget me.

You are all my bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~

What A Wonderful World

I see trees of green, red roses too

I see them bloom for me and you
And I say to myself
What wonderful world
I see skies of blue and clouds of white
Bright sunny days, dark sacred nights
And I think to myself
What a wonderful world
The colors of the rainbow are so pretty in the skies
Are also on the faces of people walking by
I see friends shaking hands saying
How do you do?
They're really saying
I love you
I see babies cry, I watch them grow
They'll learn much more than I'll ever know
And I think to myself
What a wonderful world
Yes, I think to myself
What a wonderful world
And I say to myself
What a wonderful world
~ sung by ME

  1. All the flowers...the lilacs especially are beautiful. My neighbor has a lilac bush and it's only a couple of feet from my office window, but it doesn't seem to have any scent. I certainly can't smell it. I'm glad everything is going so well for Carter...prayers answered for sure. Lovin' your bunny and home-made bird bath too!

    Hugs,
    Jan ♥

  2. We have a lilac bush now. It had several blooms this year. We just got it last year so it has more growing to do. Your spring is lovely.
We are already getting veggies from our garden :) I've already had to make zucchini bread.

  5. Those lilacs are a gorgeous color and I bet they smell heavenly! So glad that Carter is doing so well. How fun that she's playing softball. Any kind of group sport is fun for the kids and keeping them physically active is such a plus! Looks like your perennials are coming in nicely- isn't it a great time of the year! We had the same kind of weather although we didn't get much rain and we could have used it. I hope in time your knee will gain better strength and movement so you feel closer to normal again. Enjoy your break and this lovely spring weather that's coming!

  8. Hi Sweet Shelia, Gorgeous Gorgeous!! All your blooms are so pretty and your family adorable. So glad little Carter is doing so well. Thank God for his faithfulness and care!! I am still taking some time off and been on vacation all last week in Coronado Island. Shared those pics on fb but will be back to blogging in limited posts once a week or twice a month. After 10 years, I just need a change. So nice to still keep in touch even in short form with fb.
Enjoy your break time and take good care. Prayers for your healing knee too. See you again soon.

  11. Your lilacs are fabulous! Aren't they just the best? I love their fragrance. We have a bush on my neighbor's side but by Lizzie's window and I love sitting there looking at it (and she lets me pick, too!).

Glad you are getting around OK though sorry that the pain is still there. I hope all will be well and you can get out an enjoy the beauty in the world these days! I went to Southern Exposure and the gardens were in full force. Such a big, happy sigh!

  12. Love your flowers. You seem to be having the same kind of weather we have had. Highs , lows, rain, rain, rain, and then some sunshine. :):) I am so thankful to God that your sweet granddaughter is improving. I would love to see an eagle around here. I have seen photos in our local paper about them. I love your garden statuary. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  17. I would love a lilac plant. We are going to buy plants this weekend. Maybe I can find one. I don't know much about them - this should be fun. After living in the desert for 30 years, I am learning so much about cold climate gardening! Your yard is just so pretty. I'm glad to hear you are hobbling around and having fun!

  30. Dearest Shelia, Life just takes over sometimes and it happens to me too. Enjoy your life and it is a good thing to take a break.

I adore your spring photos. I'm so thankful Carter has improved so much that she can get off the meds. The lilacs are heavenly and I wish I could smell them too. Lilacs were my mother's favorite flower. Mine too.

    Happy Memorial Day weekend.

  33. I am so happy that Carter is doing so well. She is always in my prayers along with you and your knee.

You need to take some "ME" time as you have had a lot on your plate this entire year.
So rest my dear sweet Shelia, we will all be waiting for you when you come back.

Sorry I am so late in answering your blog, but I have hurt my right shoulder and it goes all the way down to my fingers. Plus I have shingles, not very bad as I had the shot. It hurts when I use the computer a lot, so I read, but do not answer alot of the posts.

    Take care Shelia.
    Hugs,
    Mary
