Play Time!

Hello Dear Ones and again, I hope you're not tired of seeing all of the little outfits I've made for Babbette. I can't help myself.
 I. Go. On. Binges!

I start doing something I really enjoy and I just can't stop.
Well, Babbette needed some play clothes so I made her some little pants and a top. I had just a little bit left of this Noah's Ark fabric and thought she would just love to have her little top made from it.
I added a little band around the hems of her pants to add a little bit of 'spice'. Baby girls love spice!
She thought the neckline of her top was too low so I knew exactly what to do - add a 'dickie'. Do folks still call these 'dickies' anymore? Do folks even use 'dickies' any more? When I was growing up I was quite modest and if one of my outfits had a neckline that was a bit low, my mother would make a dickie for me. She sewed most of my clothes and always had the perfect fabric. She even made lace ones too! Now a days I'm a bit shocked to see what some young girls wear with all of their 'stuff' poking out! I want to tell them they need a dickie to cover up. I still believe that modesty is the way to dress especially for our young gals. You wonder why did they step outside with something like that on? Well, Dear Ones, they knew what they were doing and they wanted to be noticed. I would love to tell them that is not the way to be noticed. Okay, enough of my preaching. Now Babbette is asking me what does 'notice' mean! :)
Now Babbette is standing wanted to go to the playground. She knows I'm still on my walker but she's hoping Mr. Precious will take her! :) He probably will.
I finally have a snap of the pattern to show you that I used and I made every one of the little outfits. I didn't use any of the appliques but should have. The bunnies are so cute. The pants that I made were from a free pattern I found on Pinterest. There are so many wonderful things to get us into trouble on that site! :)

Till next time, be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~

Maybe Baby

Maybe baby, I'll have you

Maybe baby, you'll be true
Maybe baby, I'll have you for me (all for me)
It's funny honey, you don't care
You never listen, to my prayer
Maybe baby, you will love me some day (someday)
Well, you are the one that makes me glad
And you are the one that makes me sad
When some day, you'll want me
Well, I'll be there, wait and see
Maybe baby, I'll have you
Maybe baby, you'll be true
Maybe baby, I'll have you for me (all for me)
Da-da-ta-da-da-da da-da-da
Da-da-ta-da-da-da da-da-da
Da-da-ta-da-da-da da-da-da
Ahh-ahh-ahh
Well, you are the one that makes me glad
And you are the one that makes me sad
When some day, you'll want me
Well, I'll be there, wait and see
Maybe baby, I'll have you
Maybe baby, you'll be true
Maybe baby, I'll have you for me (all for me)
Maybe baby I'll have you for me (you're for me)

  7. I am very sure that bingeing on sewing baby doll clothes is much better for your health than bingeing on chocolate or cookies, so go for it I say!!! If it keeps your mind and hands busy while you are getting your knee back in shape go for it! The results speak for themselves and are beautiful! xx

  10. Very cute outfit! Yes we called them dickies too and nope i bet no one uses that word anymore! I called my flip flops "thongs" one day ....thats what we called them in the 60s and 70s.... That was a big no-no! Thongs now mean panties!! Ha ha ha lol hard to find modest clothes these days For dolls OR LITTLE GIRLS! Most of the dolls look sleazy!
