Marion Gets A New Dress of Her Own

Hello Dear Ones! I've been so busy making doll clothes for my little granddaughter that I have neglected my own doll, Marion. She is very patient and doesn't say much but I began to feel sorry for her so I looked through my patterns and fabric and went to town.
Again, I failed to take a snap of the pattern but it was an old fashioned one, kinda Shirley Templeish clothes. Can you see the happiness in little Marion's eyes?
Again, I messed up. There are flaps on each side of the insert with the buttons that was supposed to be scalloped. I cut the fabric out like it was supposed to be but I guess my seams were too large because the flaps seem to wave instead of scallop! Oh well, live and learn. But it's a cute little dress none the less. Little puffed sleeves with a band around them and a collar.
Cute little gathered pockets and a gathered skirt. Sweet little fabric too! Just perfect for my little Marion.
I was really apprehensive of showing Marion to Carter because I knew she would want her. I give in to her so easily. But I explained to her that Marion was my doll and when I wanted to make some clothes, she was my model too. So Carter accepted it and I allow her to play with Marion when she comes over. Needless to say, Marion's hair was a mess and I decided she needed a new doo!
To pull her hair back from falling into her face, I made a couple of braids and them gathered them in the back with a little clear band. I think she looks so cute and neat now. She's happy. Carter's happy. I'm happy! Hope you're happy too!

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~

Happy

It might seem crazy what I'm about to say
Sunshine she's here, you can take a break
I'm a hot air balloon that could go to space
With the air, like I don't care, baby, by the way

Because I'm happy
Clap along if you feel like a room without a roof
Because I'm happy
Clap along if you feel like happiness is the truth
Because I'm happy
Clap along if you know what happiness is to you
Because I'm happy
Clap along if you feel like that's what you wanna do

Here come bad news talking this and that, yeah,
Well, give me all you got, and don't hold it back, yeah,
Well, I should probably warn you I'll be just fine, yeah,
No offense to you, don't waste your time
Here's why

Hey Go Uh

(Happy)
Bring me down
Can't nothing
Bring me down
My level's too high
Bring me down
Can't nothing
Bring me down
I said (let me tell you now)
Bring me down
Can't nothing
Bring me down
My level's too high
Bring me down
Can't nothing
Bring me down
I said

Hey Go Uh

Bring me down... can't nothing...
Bring me down... my level's too high...
Bring me down... can't nothing...
Bring me down, I said (let me tell you now)

Hey
C'mon

  14. I like Marion's shade of blonde hair, maybe I should try that. Thanks for coming by sweet Sheila! You know when you get better you should think about getting another dog. We lost two senior schnauzers (years apart) and I thought no way would I get another. The mister insisted on getting another one right away. So now we have three furr babies and they all have their own personality. Layla loves the mister, Sonny the shih tzu loves everyone and the rescue, Jacques, adores my daughter. I am the full time babysitter and they all love me. It's a great job!!
