Hello, Dear Ones! I wanted to tell you I'm really doing well with my physical therapy. I go twice a week and am learning all kinds of stretches, ouchy still, but I'm giving it all I can. I started out with a 50% or so bend with my knee and last Friday I was able to bend my knee over 90%! Yay me! They want me to get to 120% bend. Just wanted to let you know how I'm doing. Thank you all for asking.
Well, I thought I would take a break from showing you the clothes for Babbette I've sewn and show a little bit of decor.
When we bought our old/new house this was the first time to have wood floors. We really do love them and I have to admit ~ the wood floors are easier to keep clean. You can see your dust bunnies! So with that being said, we didn't have big rugs to cover the floors and we began to purchase some one at a time. We've bought rugs for the living room, den and guest room so far.Well, I thought I would take a break from showing you the clothes for Babbette I've sewn and show a little bit of decor.
A few weeks ago Mr. Precious told me to get ready and we would go out for dinner. Well, I was feeling better and was ready after over two months to dine out! He said why don't we stop in the carpet store and just look at some rugs for the dining room. Okie dokie, right down my alley. I hobbled all over that carpet store on my walker and we picked out two rugs! The one you see here is for the dining room and we got one for the master bedroom too. I'll show you the bedroom rug later because we're waiting until I'm walker free so we can slide it under the bed and I haven't made my curtains yet (got the fabric and lining material just haven't made them). He had planned this as he was there during the day looking at rugs. He's so sweet, ya know. :)
I'm loving it and think this new rug really pulls the room together and grounds it. My voice doesn't echo like it did either! I thought the border went well with the drapes in here too! Oh, after Christmas I added some sheers to the dining room and living room windows for a little privacy. Not my favorite choice but it helps hide me a little bit as I'm
The rug is an 8 x 10 and there's plenty of room to pull the chairs out from the table and the legs are still on the rug. I don't like to see a rug that's too small that when you pull out a chair the back legs bounce down on the floor. Well, I was so excited to show you and hope you like it. My room is a little nekked as I've not been able to do any decorating as all of my stuff is in the basement! Maybe one day I'll be able to go down and bring up some pretties.
Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)
I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~
I Only Have Eyes For You
My love must be a kind of blind love.
I can't see anyone but you.
Are the stars out tonight?
I don't know if it's cloudy or bright.
I only have eyes for you, dear.
The moon may be high,
But I can't see a thing in the sky.
'Cause I only have eyes for you.
I don't know if we're in a garden
Or on a crowded avenue.
You are here, so am I.
Maybe millions of people go by.
But they all disappear from view.
And I only have eyes for you.

Love the rug, it is perfect and compliments the drapes so well. I am also so happy for you that your rehab is going well. Hopefully you will be 100% soon.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you're doing so well! And I love the rug...and how it grounds everything! Good size too.
ReplyDeleteHugs,

I love area rugs like yours under a dining room table ~~ crumbs from your little munchkins won't show!
ReplyDeleteSteady as she goes, PT would like you to be 120%, you are certainly getting there. You have a sweet and caring husband that knows that a pick me up will help cheer you up. The rug is beautiful and makes the dining room more cozy.

Thanks for the encouragement, Kathleen, and for popping in today. Hope all is going well with you today.
DeleteBe a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
The rug is a beauty and complements your curtains perfectly. Mr. Precious was thoughtful to arrange your shopping trip. I can't picture what a 120 percent bend would be, I think our knees only go to 90 degree angle.

You really have a nice size DR! You probably ought to keep Mr. Precious -- any man who would go rug shopping without you is a keeper. Yes it does work with the curtains.
ReplyDeleteIt's wonderful your infos. Thank you very much

Your new rug is gorgeous! I have bare floor in my tiny dining room but I can't have a rug because the chairs would 'fall off' the edge and the dining has three traffic directions that go through it. I have an idea that I may do some day but have to think about it. In the meantime I'll just enjoy yours!
