Oh, Christmas Tree

Hello, Dear Ones! I have almost forgotten to show you my Christmas tree! Oh, yes, I have a Christmas tree in the living room in front of the windows so all of our neighbors can see the twinkly little lights! I just love lights at Christmas time, don't you?
Here she is! We love this tree. She is big and fat and full of branches. And...she's fake. But she holds another secret...
She has a flat top. Yes, ma'am, she does. We have had her so long and love her so much that when we moved here she wouldn't fit. She was just too too tall. So Mr. Precious got his hack saw and sawed off two or three feet from the top! So she really does have a flat top!
So I had to make her explosion a lot bigger. I added more ribbon, more bows till she looked just right!
Unfortunately, a beautiful angel or a shiny twinkly star will never grace the top of her head because it's flat! Well, we still love her and believe she'll be around for many more Christmases, God willing.
She's filled with an array of Christmas ornaments. No themes here, just lots of ornies. I love color and color is what you'll find at my house, especially at Christmas. Oh, I found some narrow decco mesh and twirled that around my tree. It's wider than a ribbon but not as wide as the regular mesh and I loved how it turned out!
It's almost dark and you can see the twinkly lights making a sweet glow on everything.
Now the tree is at it's most beautiful now! I could sit in here all evening just looking at it and the way the living room looks in Christmas lights.
We've been keeping a little two year old quite a bit lately and he is very interested in all of the Christmas balls. I think this is my favorite snap, although a little blurry, of all! ;)

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~

  2. Your Christmas tree is gorgeous Shelia, and I think the flat top is well disguised with the pretty and pouffy bows and ribbons. I wish you and your sweet family a blessed Christmas holiday. Hugs. Pam

  5. Little guy in his PJ's in front of a tree . . . now that's a sweet, sweet scene! The tree is marvelous and I laughed out loud at the part where your husband cut the top off the tree. That is such a practical solution my own hubby would think of!
Enjoy a good pre-Christmas weekend with those you love, and continued prayers for Carter!

  8. Your tree is so beautiful! I am in love. If you didn't say it had a flat top, no one would have known. The bows are a perfect disguise. And I know you have good taste since I put bows on the top of my tree also. Thank you for sharing those wonderful pictures with us (especially the last one -- it could be a card).

  11. Your Christmas tree is absolutely gorgeous! Every ornie is lovely, specially your new adorable toddler, who seems like he made a sweet Elf.
This is the first time in 40 years I haven't made a tree, but only decorated the house; as we're going to spend it with our dearest Sofia's, Sil and the cuties and on a three hour drive this Monday and for a week.
Since we came back from Miami I haven't time for almost nothing else but prepare for C'mas.
Merry Christmas and many blessings sweet lady.

  21. Oh Christmas tree is a beauty even with her flat top! You've masked it well and no one would guess. I love how the gold mesh glows from the lights. I still haven't tried the mesh for anything yet. Get that knee better quickly so you can be back in the swing of things again soon!

  25. I love your tree and seeing it in different lighting conditions! I'm with you -- I might have themes for little trees, but that big baby is a little bit of everything and filled with color, like yours! I love how you compensated for your flat top -- who would know? It is just dazzling and such a wonderful reflection of you! Merry Christmas!
