Hello, Dear Ones! I'm so glad you're here today and would like to show you my entry decked out for Christmas!
Gaze your most gorgeous peepers on this little darling woodland couple! Ain't they sweet? :)
Mr. Precious got these for me at Costco, y'all! I was drooling all over the aisle and I think he got the picture that I was in love! So in the basket they went. Just so you'll know ~ we love Costco but there isn't one around here close to us. I think there may be one in New Jersey but we've never been. But there is one about 100 miles from here in Springfield, Massachusetts, so we drive over every two to three months! It's a nice drive and we think it's worth it. Well, it certainly was on this last trip as I got my little deer! Oh, they are just so pretty, y'all! I wanted to make sure they were seen by as many folks as possible so I poked them down on my little table in the entry. It works! We got the pretty little embroidered Christmas tablecloth when we were in Venice.
Keeping with my woodsy theme, but only here in the entry and not pine coneys and branches and stuff through the rest of my house, I poked this sweet little garland of berries on the mirror. I think they looks pretty realistic.
That's a $10 prelit tree from Wally World and I poked it in a Milk Glass bowl and put some berries around the base. Since it's all woodsy in here I didn't add any ornies or anything. I opened the front door to allow in more light as it's been dreary and rainy the past few days and you can see the wreath on my door. Well, the backside of it. Wreath bum bum! I could go on and on but I won't! :) Feeling rather silly today. I guess I feel that way most days don't I? Hope you've enjoyed seeing my little entry. Merry merry pine coneys and branches to ya, in a good way!
Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)
I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~
The Holly and the Ivy
The holly and the ivy
When they are both full grown
Of all the trees that are in the wood
The holly bears the crown
Of all the trees that are in the wood
The holly bears the crown
Oh, the rising of the sun
And the running of the deer
The playing of the merry organ
Sweet singing in the choir
And the running of the deer
The playing of the merry organ
Sweet singing in the choir
The holly bears a blossom
As white as lily flower
And Mary bore sweet Jesus Christ
To be our sweet Savior
As white as lily flower
And Mary bore sweet Jesus Christ
To be our sweet Savior
Oh, the rising of the sun
And the running of the deer
The playing of the merry organ
Sweet singing in the choir
And the running of the deer
The playing of the merry organ
Sweet singing in the choir
The holly bears a berry
As red as any blood
And Mary bore sweet Jesus Christ
To do poor sinners good
As red as any blood
And Mary bore sweet Jesus Christ
To do poor sinners good
Oh, the rising of the sun
And the running of the deer
The playing of the merry organ
Sweet singing in the choir
And the running of the deer
The playing of the merry organ
Sweet singing in the choir
The holly bears a prickle
As sharp as any thorn
And Mary bore sweet Jesus Christ
On Christmas Day in the morn
As sharp as any thorn
And Mary bore sweet Jesus Christ
On Christmas Day in the morn
Oh, the rising of the sun
And the running of the deer
The playing of the merry organ
Sweet singing in the choir
And the running of the deer
The playing of the merry organ
Sweet singing in the choir
The holly bears a bark
As bitter as any gall
And Mary bore sweet Jesus Christ
For to redeem us all
As bitter as any gall
And Mary bore sweet Jesus Christ
For to redeem us all
Oh, the rising of the sun
And the running of the deer
The playing of the merry organ
Sweet singing in the choir
And the running of the deer
The playing of the merry organ
Sweet singing in the choir
The holly and the ivy
Now both are full well grown
Of all the trees that are in the wood
The holly bears the crown
Now both are full well grown
Of all the trees that are in the wood
The holly bears the crown
Oh, the rising of the sun
And the running of the deer
The playing of the merry organ
Sweet singing in the choir
And the running of the deer
The playing of the merry organ
Sweet singing in the choir
Oh, the rising of the sun
And the running of the deer
The playing of the merry organ
Sweet singing in the choir
And the running of the deer
The playing of the merry organ
Sweet singing in the choir

Hi Shelia,
ReplyDeleteI'm loving your pretty little woodsy entryway! Love the deer! You are silly, but that's what makes you so endearing!
I also love your new Christmas Banner! Lovely!
Hugs,
Jan ♥
How cute!! I love the little deer in the entry!!
ReplyDeleteLookin good over there, lady!
ReplyDeleteKeep waiting for a bright sunny day for pic taking here to no avail - maybe there's something to those "big business bloggers" who decorate and photograph in mid summer, eh?
You need to come here and visit, there is a Cosco 20 minutes away next to the best mall ever. : - )
I hate to shop though so usually only my hubs goes. He would never EVER put white deer in the cart. I think I may need to go with him, as I absolutely ADORE those you have!
My little brother is a hunter - he lives on Lake Erie, and yesterday got his second deer of the season, a 8 point buck! With a crossbow! : - ) He has several freezers and shares his bounty. Now I don't eat deer meat but it is so lean and wonderful to cook - and my husband likes to dry out strips and make jerky. Again, never had it but hear it is really really good.
The only way I like deer is decor - don't like them in my backyard or on my dinner plate;. : - )
Hugs.
I love your little entryway and those pretty deer. I have the same ones, but in brown. I got them on my honeymoon. Like you, I just couldn't resist. Putting that little tree in the milk glass looks so pretty too.
ReplyDeleteAnd the Holly and the Ivy is one of my favorite carols. Thanks for posting it since I never can remember all the words!
What a sweet hubby! He sounds like mine as I have memories of him putting a white Santa décor item in our cart at Costco years back. Love those white deer and you have displayed them beautifully!
ReplyDeleteLooks perfect to me! Love the new deer! We don't have a Costco yet but I hear one is in the works. The tree and the berries are the perfect touch!
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet set of deer, Shelia! They look perfectly at ease ready to greet visitors coming in to your home.
ReplyDeleteI love the white deer! I started to buy some smaller ones. But I have this horrible habit of breaking things, so I refrained. Love your entry!
ReplyDeleteBrenda
Very nice entry, Shelia. So calm and lovely with your beautiful tablecloth. The deer look very happy in your home--very regal and sophisticated. Have a nice weekend! xo ♥
ReplyDeleteLove the deer!
ReplyDeleteLove the deer!! Glad you are feeling all the spirit of Christmas....me too!! Waiting for some sun to take pics.......I'm not holding my breath!! So glad baby girl is doing well enough to go to school for half days......the Lord has His arms around her and am praying for a hedge of protection for little Carter!! Be blessed....xoxoxo
ReplyDeleteOh, I love your entry! The deer are so sweet and the Venice tablecloth is exquisite! I have a real deer on my post today. lol
ReplyDeleteI had to delete my gmail/blog, so if you click on this comment, it will take you to the new blog. Love and prayers to you and yours, especially Carter.
Love the Costco finds we don't have one near by either. You did good!
ReplyDeleteThe simplicity of your decor makes it beautiful and classy. I love the berries garland on the mirror and the white deers that contrast with everything else.
ReplyDeleteArlette
We just got a Costco this past year over in Mobile, AL, about 30-40 minutes from my house. I love going there and they always have good surprises to find! Your dear are precious and look very swanky! Hope you have a wonderful time decorating and enjoying it all with your precious family!
ReplyDeleteLove your deer, but I really couldn't take my eyes off that wonderful tablecloth. Things picked up on travels are the best -- something tangible and something memorable. Glad to see you are your silly self -- that Carter gave you a horrible scare -- I'm still praying for a complete recovery. Sally
ReplyDeleteDeers and berries, Cute! But the beautiful tablecloth, exquisitely Christmas! Kathleen in Az

Sheila, your entry way decor is just gorgeous...love the deer and that string of red berries. But you know what? If you did have pineys and branches and stuff all through your house, it would have looked amazing, I have no doubt :)
ReplyDeleteI love it all! You are a very fun person!
ReplyDeleteLove the white deer, Sheila. We must not have any in Costco in the whole state down here!
ReplyDeleteShelia I just love the white deer and what a great find at Costco. I would have grabbed them up too. Your entry is beautiful and so welcoming. Love the little tree with lights and the berries around the mirror is stunning. You know I did something similar in my entry this year but with a tall Santa. Love your gorgeous table linen too with the candles. I have one with poinsettias and cut work.
ReplyDeleteHave a blessed Sunday, xo
Oh I love everything, looks so pretty and so festive.
ReplyDeleteI love the deer! Such a pretty vignette. I haven't been to Costco in a long time, but may have to go check it out soon. Pretty decorations all around!

ReplyDeleteYour entry is a wonderful way to welcome people to the merriment and festivity of your house! It's beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping to get some decorations posted soon. Well, first I have to finish getting them up!
I love that song! YEARS ago Jon Anderson from YES made a Christmas album called "Three Ships" and I had it for many years / did not after a move. Well thank heavens for You Tube as the entire album was posted there by someone and this song is one of them on it. :)
ReplyDeleteShelia, I love how you strung the red berries above the mirror. That little touch is so perfect with the deer. :)
ReplyDeleteShelia,
ReplyDeleteThat "Mr. Precious" is a "keeper"!!!

DeleteLovely vignette, Sheila! I have that same deer set! I was with a friend who has a Costco membership, shopping, and we both fell in love with them. Two sets came home with us! Mine is on my dining room table. Waiting for the light to be right so I can take pics and post! :) ~Rhonda

ReplyDeleteThose deer are so cute! And you could probably even get away with displaying them year round if you really wanted to. There's not really anything particularly Christmasy about them if you take those wreaths off.
