Getting Ready For A Party In The Kitchen

Hello, Dear Ones! Come on in to my kitchen while I prepare for a party. Yes, you can help me!
I know it looks a bit messy, but it's party central ya know!
There's peach tea on the table and the bucket is filled with ice. Got some soft drinks chilling in the fridge.
I've tossed down a red checked runner on the island and it fits perfectly in this space. I've poked down all my Christmas cups and there is hot Wassail in the red pot! Yum, how I love Wassail
Also on the island is my little scale I found while we were in England this fall. She's got lots of shiny Christmas balls placed in her scoop! Smile, sweetie!
I cleaned off the top of my fridge. That's a big deal for me since this fridge is so tall and I'm so short. I had to drag out the big ladder and climb up and stand on one of the top steps, y'all! Well, I just poked down my big Rooster and gave him some Christmas cheer! :) He loves it that he is center stage up here!
I'm sure y'all have been all over Pinterest like me looking for inspiration. Well, I saw something like this and copied catted it! Will I bake something for Christmas? If I do I'll just pour these balls out into a big bowl if I decide to. I'm not pinning myself down or anything! ;) Ha ha! Just a little Pineterest humor.
This is what I look at as I'm washing my dishes each day. The little angel on the left is from my little Carter last year. The JOY needlework was done by my talented dainty little fingers back in the 70s! :) Money was tight in those days and I found this little needlework design with all of the yarn included on sale after Christmas! I bought it immediately and went to work on it right away. I bring it out each Christmas.
Here are the little Rooster hooks that hang on the cabinets on either side of my sink and I hung a couple of little Santie decorations on them. This just makes me smile as I clean up my kitchen messes.
If you have a vintage scale you just have to Christmas it up a bit! ;)
I've shown you my little ceramic tree before and here she sits by her neighbors on the microwave, the Nutcrackers!
Okie dokie. I have some nicer cuter Christmas towels but I've brought out this old simple one and I know it even has a few little Christmas stains on the other side but that makes it all the more dear!
Well, I've got the kitchen ready for my party! Sit down and I'll pour you some Wassail! ;)

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~

The Christmas Song

Chestnuts roasting on an open fire
Jack Frost nipping at your nose
Yule-tide carols being sung by a choir
And folks dressed up like Eskimos
Everybody knows a turkey and some mistletoe
Help to make the season bright
Tiny tots with their eyes all aglow
Will find it hard to sleep tonight
They know that Santa's on his way
He's loaded lots of toys and goodies on his sleigh
And every mother's child is gonna spy
To see if reindeer really know how to fly
And so I'm offering this simple phrase
To kids from one to ninety-two
Although it's been said many times, many ways
Merry Christmas to you
~ sung by Nat King Cole

  13. Oh, how I wish I could sit in your kitchen and take it all in! I love everything you've done and I just might 'steal' a couple of ideas. I haven't finished decorating and we seem to have 'lost' one box of tree ornaments. Whatever happens I'll enjoy the season! You've inspired me to get going and decorate my kitchen.
