Christmasing in the Sun Room (Carter Update)

Dear Ones, I'm happy to report little Carter had her 2nd chemo treatment yesterday and it went well.  After 4 times they finally got a vein for the port. Angela has some cream that she applies an hour before Carter needs to be stuck that numbs her little arm so she won't feel it. Well they had to poke her other little arm with no numbing cream. Angela said Carter was so brave. We're so proud of her. She really doesn't realize what is going on and that's a blessing. She was so tired and went immediately to bed when they got home. She will continue to have her blood work done weekly and will have a follow up with her doctor next Friday. He has sent a portion of her kidney biopsy to New York for evaluation. He says her case is so rare. Thank you for your prayers and we march on. God is so good and He allowed yesterday to happen and He straightened out the insurance bungle.

Hello, Dear Ones! Are you enjoying seeing all of the Christmasing going on in Blogland? I sure am. Well, today I thought I would bring you on out into my sun room that is all Christmased up.
As I've told you before, I call this room "The Ark". With it's slanted windows and all, it reminds me of Noah's ark. Not that I've seen it or anything! :) Okie dokie. Yeah, I know, I still don't have some sweet little wooden chairs for the little table the previous owners left.
I put a little 3 feet tall prelit tree in here and added Christmas balls. Maybe next year I'll look for birds and gardeny things. That would be cute, dont' you think?
I brought out my bunny foo foos. I made these little harey things many years ago, like over 30 years ago!
I poked down this little trio of angels along with a couple of wire cloches filled with Christmas balls, added some faux greens and called it DONE!
Here's a closeup of my old vintage tablecloth. Don't you just love these colorful cloths? I have quite a few and am always on the lookout for another one that doesn't cost an arm and a leg!
Just a little Santie cheer on the coffee table.
As you can see it's just cold outside. This time last year we were covered up with snow. I love this little room.
It's always so nice to look out in the evening and see my little tree just twinkling through the night. Hope my neighbors like it and I hope you do too.

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~

Do You Wanna Build A Snowman

Do you wanna build a snowman?
C'mon out lets go and play
I never see you anymore
Come out the door
It's like you've gone away
We used to be best buddies
And now we're not
I wish you would tell me why
Do you wanna build a snowman?
It doesn't have to be a snowman
(Go away, Anna)
Okay, bye

Do you wanna build a snowman?
Or ride our bikes around the halls
I think some company is overdue
I've started talking to the pictures on the walls
(Hang in there, Joan)
It gets a little lonely
All these empty rooms
Just watching the hours tick by
(Tic-Tock, Tic-Tock, Tic-Tock, Tic-Tock)

Please, I know you're in there
People are asking where you've been
They say have courage, and I'm trying to
I'm right out here for you, just let me in
We only have each other
It's just you and me
What are we gonna do?
Do you wanna build a snowman?

  6. Continued prayers for Carter and your entire family. I know what a trying time this must be for all of you. I use that numbing cream, too, on my port each week prior to labs and chemo. I'm praying that little Carter doesn't have to have too many chemo infusions and doesn't suffer any of the side-effects.

Your sunroom is wonderful, Shelia! The arch does make it resemble the Ark....I haven't seen it, either! The only thing I miss about our previous house is the sunroom. It was the best place to grow plants and flowers, and The Man made extra deep window sills just for that purpose.

I hope all goes well with Carter and that you will all have a wonderful Christmas!

    Warm hugs,
    Carol

  10. Bless Carter, a brave little one with lots of prayers from your blogging friends. A very Christmassy sunroom, love the vintage tablecloth and tree. I realized I'm more of a green, red, gold with blue and silver touches. Traditional Christmas colors.
