Being Anna

Hello, Dear Ones! Well, if you didn't know this I'm a push over when it comes to my little Carter. We were in the fabric store and she spied a pattern for the dresses of Anna and Elsa from the movie Frozen! She said, "Please, please, please Shesho (that's what she calls me)! Would you make this for me for Halloween?" She wanted to be Anna because she said 'everyone' was Elsa! Well, of course I said yes and went to work on it. She came over one day last week to see if it fit.
Here is the dress and I tried to get a few snaps. She was so excited and would not stand still. It did turn out cute and it fit her to a tee! I made it a little shorter than it was supposed to be because I didn't want her to trip up. Aren't the little appliques cute? I bought fat quarters for the colors of the shapes. I also did the neck of the bodice my way. It was supposed to have a little light blue insert trimmed with the gold ribbon. Well, I fiddled and fiddled with it and it just looked wrong so I cut another bodice and just made it plain. Shh...don't tell anyone.
Then the cape! Again she was reelin' and just a spinnin'. She loved her costume to say the least. The cape was made from 72" felt and I thought this won't last long! But it hangs so nicely. Oh, well. The pompom trim just makes it. Sorry I didn't take a picture of the pattern but we also picked up a pattern for the same costume for the American Gril Doll. I thought I would get it made for her doll before Halloween but it's not going to happen. I've come down with a bug and just don't feel that well.
Then today, Carter's school had their Halloween parade and I wasn't able to go! ;(  But Mr. Precious went and took a few snaps of Carter marching proudly in her costume. I had to leave you with a little blur! :)

I want to wish everyone a safe and fun Halloween.
Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~

Costumes on Parade

Come one and all,
Big and small,
Gather ‘round for the parade.
We’re dressing up,
On Halloween,
So many costumes to be seen!

Costumes on parade,
Ghosts and witches walking by,
Mummies, vampires, Frankenstein,
And Batman, me oh my!

Costumes on parade,
Clowns and cats are walking by,
Princesses and firemen,
And Elvis, me oh my!

Costumes on parade,
Frogs and monkeys walking by,
Hannah Montana and Harry Potter,
And ninjas, me oh my!

Time for Tea?

Hello, Dear Ones! I set up another little useful vignette in my kitchen and went kinda neutral with the Fallness.
I poked my big ole white platter up on a plate stand for a background and also because there is a metal phone jack on the subway tile put in by the previous owners. So...I try to cover it up when I can.
Okie dokie! I was walking through Marshalls not long ago and of course I was in the clearance aisle and saw this darling little cow couple creamer and sugar bowl. For $3.99 I had to have them.
Tell me the truth, could you have passed up this little couple? Look at the painting on their little bodies and the little tiny dot eyes! Love love love!
Now to show you the usefulness of this vignette. This sweet little sugar bowl holds...
Fake sugar! Just a perfect spot for me as the cups and mugs are in the cabinet just above this space.
Then I've used a blue and white canister, pieces don't have to match you know, and it holds my favorite tea bags. Tea bags and fake sugar right where I need them.
Then just because, I've placed one of my scales down and poked a pun'kin on top! This works for me. I also wanted you to see the cute little faces on my new little cows again! Are you ready for a cup of tea?

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~

Have A Cuppa Tea

 Granny's always ravin' and rantin'
And she's always puffin' and pantin'
And she's always screamin' and shoutin'
And she's always brewin' up tea
Grandpappy's never late for his dinner
'Cos he loves his leg of beef
And he washes it down with a brandy
And a fresh made cup of tea
Have a cuppa tea, have a cuppa tea
Have a cuppa tea, have a cuppa tea
Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Rosie Lea
Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Rosie Lea
If you feel a bit under the weather
If you feel a little bit peeved
Take granny's stand by potion
For any old cough or wheeze
It's a cure for hepatitis, it's a cure for chronic insomnia
It's a cure for tonsillitis, and for water on the knee
Have a cuppa tea, have a cuppa tea
Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Rosie Lea
Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Rosie Lea
Tea in the morning, tea in the evening, tea at supper time
You get tea when it's rainin', tea when it's snowin'
Tea when the weather's fine
You get tea as a mid day stimulant
You get tea with your afternoon tea
For any old ailment or disease
For Christ sake have a cuppa tea
Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Rosie Lea
Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Rosie Lea
Whatever the situation, whatever the race or creed
Tea knows no segregation, no class nor pedigree
It knows no motivations, no sect or organization
It knows no one religion, nor political belief
Have a cuppa tea, have a cuppa tea
Have a cuppa tea, for Christ sake have a cuppa tea
Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Rosie Lea
Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Rosie Lea
Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Rosie Lea
Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Rosie Lea

Ruby The Mixer

Hello, Dear Ones! Hope all is well with you. Well today I thought I'd bring you into my little kitchen.
This is Ruby the Mixer. I name furniture and small appliances! I know, I'm dippy. But Ruby is so beautiful and I just couldn't call her 'the mixer'. So Ruby it was. Anyway, she got decked out in a Fall vignette too.
Here sits a little yard bird couple - very olden and chippy, but I am totally in love with them. I think the detail on them are so neat.
Pun'kins! Gotta have pun'kins.
Then to make Ruby feel more than special, she got here own sprig of Fallness! Thanks for popping in to see me today and I really do love to hear from you! I do hope you'll leave me a comment and I will reply back to you, I promise! :)

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia :)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~

Ruby, Don't Take Your Love To Town

You've painted up your lips and rolled and curled your tinted hair
Ruby are you contemplating, going out somewhere
The shadow on the wall, tells me the sun is going down
Oh Ruby, don't take your love to town
It wasn't me that started that ol' crazy Asian war
But I was proud to go and do my patriotic chore
And yes it's true, that I'm not the man I used to be
But Ruby, I still need some company
It's hard to love a man, whose legs are bent and paralyzed
And the wants and needs of a woman of your age
Ruby I realize
It won't be long, I've heard them say, until I'm not around,
Oh Ruby, don't take your love to town
She's leaving now 'cause I just heard the slamming of the door
The way I know I've heard it slam 100 times before
And if I could move I'd get my gun and put her in the ground, oh Ruby
Don't take your love to town, oh Ruby, for God's sake turn around

A Fall Centerpiece

Hello, Dear Ones! Well, the weather here has really cooled off and the leaves are turning the golden colors of Autumn and falling like huge flakes of snow. If you follow me on Face Book, you may have seen some of the gorgeous snaps I've shown.
I grabbed a basket and went to town poking in faux flowers to make a floral arrangement for my kitchen table. I may have gone a little bit overboard with the flowers. Maybe a bit too much?
Regardless, I like it! The sunflowers, mums, cat tails and other Fallen fauxs just speak to me. I even poked in a few veggies on a stem. The artichoke just looks like Fall even though it's around all the time.
The colors of Fall are sitting on my table in the breakfast room and I smile each time I pass by.
Happy Fall, y'all! :)

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song~ ( a little sad song, but I like it)

Autumn Of My Life

In the spring of my life she came to me
She brought sunshine where winter winds had blown
Then I took her for my wife in the spring of my life
And she brought me a joy I'd never known
And the years, they went by in the spring of my life
And in summer she blessed me with a child
Love continued to grow in the summer of my life
And in every morning sun I saw her smile
But in the autumn of my years I noticed the tears
And I knew that our life was in the past
Though I tried to pretend, I knew it was the end
For the autumn of my life had come at last
Now what, what do you say to a child of ten?
How do you tell him his daddy's going away?
Do I tell him that I've reached the autumn of my life
And that he'll understand some winter's day
Now a rose can't be found on a snow covered ground
And the sun cannot shine through clouds
But I'm richer you see for the years she gave
And I'm content in the autumn of my life

Little Richard is Falling

Hello Dear Ones! I'm still Falling around my house and thought I'd show you Little Richard. You do name your furniture pieces too, don't you?
Little Richard sits on the wall behind my piano and he's all Falled up now. I didn't really change anything, just added Fall touches.
I added a couple of little tiny cloches and three pumpkins. Poked down a Fallen garland. This side was done.
On this side I just added the Fallen candle and a tiny pumpkin under the cloche.
Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~

Tutti Fruitti

Tutti frutti, oh rutti,

I've Fallen On My Piano

Hello, Dear Ones! Yep, it was bound to happen...I've fallen on my piano! But did it hurt? Not one bit!
My mantra this year is "easy peasy" with the Fall decorating. All I did here was to add the pun'kins!
Three little pun'kins! That's all. The lace is a little table cloth that belonged to my grandmother who passed away before I was three. I'm so happy to have something that belonged to her. My mother had told me I reminded her of my grandmother. She was short and kind! I like to think I'm kind. I know I'm short, shoot! :)
I made the floral many years ago especially for my piano. When we moved last year the movers took all of the flowers out of the vase and boxed them up. I rearranged it again. I really feel as if I've cheated on this vignette. Easy peasy wins out again!

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~ (you knew Keith Carradine was an actor but do you remember this beautiful song from him - 1976)
I'm Easy
It's not my way to love you just when no one's looking,
It's not my way to take your hand if I'm not sure,
It's not my way to let you see what's going on inside of me,
When it's a love you won't be needing you're not free.

Please stop pulling at my sleeve if you're just playing,
If you won't take the things you make me wanna give,
I never cared too much for games, and this one's driving me insane,
You're not half as free to wonder as you claim.
But I'm easy, yeah I'm easy, give the word I'll play your game,
As though that's how it ought to be, because I'm easy.

Don't lead me on if there's nowhere for you to take me,
If loving you would have to be a sometime thing,
I can't put bars on my inside, my love is something I can't hide,
It still hurts when I recall the times I tried.
But I'm easy, yeah I'm easy, take my hand and pull me down,
I won't put up any fight because I'm easy.

Don't do me favours, let me watch you from the distance,
'cause when you're near I find it hard to keep my head,
When your eyes throw light at mine, it's enough to change my mind,
Make me leave my cautious words and ways behind.
That's why I'm easy, yeah I'm easy, say you want me I'll come running,
Without taking time to think, because I'm easy.
~ sung by Keith Carradine

Milking The Windowsill

Hello, Dear Ones. Well, I'm trudging on with my Fallen decorating. Since I was using milk glass in the dining room I thought I'd continue with milk glassing my windowsill in the breakfast room.
I so am enjoying this windowsill. It's so much fun to decorate with the seasons.
I've used four fairly large milk glass pieces and poked pun'kins in three and fall foliage in the other.

I've poked the flowers in the pitcher. I love that pitcher. Then the footed bowls hold pun'kins.
I scattered down some little pun'kins and added a Fallen leaves garland and I was done. Like I said - easy peasy for me!
Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia :)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~

Knights In White Satin.

 Nights in white satin
Never reaching the end
Letters I've written
Never meaning to send
Beauty I've always missed
With these eyes before
Just what the truth is
I can't say any more
'Cause I love you
Yes I love you
Oh how I love you

Gazing at people some hand in hand
Just what I'm going through they can't understand
Some try to tell me thoughts they cannot defend
Just what you want to be you will be in the end

And I love you
Yes I love you
Oh how I love you
Oh how I love you

Nights in white satin
Never reaching the end
Letters I've written
Never meaning to send
Beauty I've always missed
With these eyes before
Just what the truth is
I can't say any more

'Cause I love you
Yes I love you
Oh how I love you
Oh how I love you
'Cause I love you
Yes I love you
Oh how I love you
Oh how I love you

I've Fallen On My Coffee Table

Hello, Dear Ones! Well, my Falling continues and this time on the coffee table in my living room.
I love these glass pumpkins which I have had for a long long time! I bring them out each Fall and this year was no exception. My. Glass. Pumpkins! Aren't they so pretty?
Mr. DeMille, we're ready for our close up! :) I love that old movie "Sunset Blvd" with Gloria Swanson!
I recently bought this round wooden tray from Bed, Bath and Beyond and the bright idea hit me!! Ouch, it did hurt a bit but I knew my beloved glass pumpkins would love to sit in this tray! They are very happy just let me tell you. I poked in some little acorns, and another leaf garland and I was done! Woo Hoo! Easy peasy again.
I did toss down this crocheted doily, I love this too, because I didn't want to scratch up the top of my table. Oh, I see those two little acorns peeping out at me through the handle. You really have to watch out for those feisty little acorns.

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~

Fallin' In Love

 Baby, baby, fallin' in love
I'm fallin' in love again
Baby, baby, fallin' in love
I'm fallin' in love again
I could never see what fate had planned for me
And then, you came and made my dreams this man's reality
Maybe you can see all the things you've meant to me
But my simple fate is at the gate and girl, you've got the key
Baby, baby, fallin' in love
I'm fallin' in love again
Baby, baby, fallin' in love
I'm fallin' in love again
It seems like yesterday you and I first loved this way
But now, I know how love can grow with each and every day
As we lay at midnight's hour and feel love's hidden power
So strong and bold as life unfolds a mystery to me
Baby, baby, fallin' in love
I'm fallin' in love again
Baby, baby, fallin' in love
I'm fallin' in love again
You and me for eternity
In love, we'll always be
Young and free and naturally
The way it's gotta be
Baby, baby, fallin' in love
I'm fallin' in love again
Baby, baby, fallin' in love
I'm fallin' in love again
Baby, baby, fallin' in love
I'm fallin' in love again
Baby, baby, fallin' in love
I'm fallin' in love again
Baby, baby, fallin' in love
I'm fallin' in love again
Baby, baby, fallin' in love
I'm fallin' in love again

Falling in the Dining Room

Hello, Dear Ones! I thought I would show you my olden server all decked out for Fall! Like I've said before, I'm going easy peasy this year but I'm still having loads of fun.

I placed one of my tallest tureens on a little glass stand for my centerpiece.
Next came this cute little yard bird couple! Their colors just scream FALL!
I had shown you the milk glass I used on my dining table and I thought I would continue with this cute little milk glass dish and it would finish off this side, with pun'kins of course.
You can see what bad shape the top of this server is in. After last winter, the finish just decided to peel off! It was so cold and the air in our house was so dry that the wood didn't like it! We've got a guy coming to install a humidifier to our furnace/heater so we'll get some moisture in the air this winter.
There you have it...my easy peasy Fallen decorating! :)  You really don't know what an inspiration you all are to me. I used to buy a ton of decorating magazines before I started blogging. Don't need to any more because I have you! :)

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~

Heatwave

 Whenever I'm with him
Something inside starts to burnin'
And I'm filled with desire
Could it be a devil in me
Or is this the way love's supposed to be?
It's like a heat wave, burnin' in my heart
I can't keep from cryin', it's tearin' me apart
Whenever he calls my name
Soft, low, sweet and plain
I feel right there, I feel that burnin' flame
Has a high blood pressure got a hold on me
Or is this the way love's supposed to be?
It's like a heat wave, burnin' in my heart
I can't keep from cryin', it's tearin' me apart
Ooh, ooh, heat wave
Ooh, ooh, heat wave
Sometimes I stare in space, tears all over my face
I can't explain it, don't understand it
I ain't never felt like this before
Now that funny feelin' has me amazed
I don't know what to do, my head's in a haze
It's like a heat wave, burnin' in my heart
I can't keep from crying, it's tearin' me apart
Yeah yeah, yeah yeah, oh yeah
Yeah yeah, yeah yeah, oh yeah
I feel it burnin', right here in my heart

A Little Scaley

Hello, Dear Ones! I thought I would share with you a little something I found in a thrift shop in England.
Don't you just love her? This was just the cutest little scale and I had to have her! I dressed her up with some faux fruit. I think she looks lovely.
This is an old balance weight scale made in England but the weights are in ounces and pounds! The tray, or scoop, looks like a big scoop, is copper. I haven't cleaned her up yet and will treat the cast iron weights like I do my skillets - rub em down with shortening and bake em up a bit.
Here you can see the copper or maybe it's brass.
Well, my little olden scale is feeling right at home sitting here on my island in the kitchen. Mr. Precious started poking his bananas in the scoop and I told him, no, no, Nannette! Sorry, this scale is not a banana boat! :) Men!

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~
