I realized Marion didn't have any outside casual clothes to wear while she goes birdwatching! Lord, have mercy! So, I went to town and made her some little slacks and a sleeveless top.
This little sleeveless top is most comfortable and cool and spiced up a little bit with some pretty little flowery lace. She really loves this.
I made her some comfy little slacks to go with her top. Notice the pressed pant legs. I'm so talented like that you know! :) It really does pay to press all of your inside seams as you sew. Everything just looks so much nicer when you're finished. The little pressed edge in the center of her pant legs is just a little extra and I think makes them look nicer.
Well, looks like Marion found a little birdie and I'm sure her new outfit helped! You know it did.
I just love to share the patterns I use for the doll clothes in case you see an outfit you would like to make. The one I made for Marion today is the little pants outfit in the lower right hand corner. I loved the fabric colors on the pattern so much I decided to use some fabric I had that was very similar.

Hoped you've enjoyed Midweek with Marion today and will come back next Wednesday for another outfit!
Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia :)
I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~
Hello, I Love You
Hello, I love you, won't you tell me your name?
Hello, I love you, let me jump in your game
Hello, I love you, won't you tell me your name?
Hello, I love you, let me jump in your game
She's walking down the street
Blind to every eye she meets
Do you think you'll be the guy
To make the queen of the angels sigh?
Hello, I love you, won't you tell me your name?
Hello, I love you, let me jump in your game
Hello, I love you, won't you tell me your name?
Hello, I love you, let me jump in your game
She holds her head so high, like a statue in the sky
Her arms are wicked, and her legs are long
When she moves my brain screams out this song
Sidewalk crouches at her feet
Like a dog that begs for something sweet
Do you hope to make her see, you fool?
Do you hope to pluck this dusky jewel?
Hello, hello, hello, hello, hello, hello, hello
I want you, hello, I need my baby
Hello, hello, hello, hello
Hello, I love you, let me jump in your game
Hello, I love you, won't you tell me your name?
Hello, I love you, let me jump in your game
She's walking down the street
Blind to every eye she meets
Do you think you'll be the guy

She looks cool and comfy.... here in Texas hot, hot, hot!
ReplyDeleteHow cute! I made the little dress on this pattern. But I don't have the part for the sleeveless top. And I love it! You have found some cute fabric for your outfits, too. This is so summery and sweet. I have my post up this morning too! See you soon! Have a fun day. Sweet hugs, Diane
ReplyDeletePS Yes, my dress is the same style you made a few weeks ago. I love the look of it....not quite as easy as some of the others though. But very cute!!! Thanks for the link. We're having such fun on Wednesdays! Hugs!
DeleteHi Shelia! Marion looks so nice in her outfit. Bravo!
ReplyDeleteTake care,
Arlette
How precious! Love her sweet little sandals too! :) ~Rhonda
ReplyDeleteOh the outfit is just perfect for bird watching - I do love the color and I noticed the crease in the pant legs right away!! Just darling.

ReplyDeleteGood morning, when I was at my moms, I had fun showing her my favorite blogs. She loved your blog, especially the Marion's posts. Reminded her of when she made dolly clothes too. Enjoy the day, Kathleen in Az
ReplyDeleteThat is SO cute, I think it might be my favorite so far!

What a cute birdwatcher!! I'm enjoying seeing all the clothes that you and Diane are sewing up for your little ladies this summer. Cute birdwatching outfit. I can see that my own wardrobe is seriously deficient in that department! :-) I like your choice of fabric and the cute daisies down the front. And the crease in the pants makes it casual but dignified. CUTE!
ReplyDeleteSheila, thanks a lot. Arlette is my first name and theme is my nickname, so both work.
ReplyDeleteHola Sheila, hermoso el traje con pantalón, los colores muy frescos, apenas para un día de campo. Tienes unas manos muy laboriosas.
ReplyDeleteHi Shirley and thanks for popping in to see me. Hope you're having a good summer.
Deletee a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
Hola Sheila, por acá ya no sabemos si estamos en invierno o no, y verano muy poco. He entrado a tu facebook, pero no me has aceptado aún. Saludos y bendiciones
DeleteWell Miss Marion can be comfy now while bird watching. Love her little shoes too! Hugs and blessings, Cindy
ReplyDeleteThat's the most adorable bird watching outfit in the world. You are so talented!
ReplyDeleteI love that you give Marion a new outfit each week. Do you also make clothes for yourself? You are really talented.
ReplyDeleteGREAT job, Sheila! I LOVE this outfit. I really need to sew some doll clothes again. Where do you find the shoes for the AG dolls? xo Diana
ReplyDeleteYou girls are sure having fun sewing for your dolls this summer! I like your little stories. I have 18" hard body dolls, "Ann Estelle". They are so cute. I've been quilting all summer. It's fun to get back to sewing, isn't it?!!
ReplyDeleteLovely as always! Thank you Shelia and Marion! xx
ReplyDeleteSweet outfit! You are one super duper talented lady!
ReplyDeleteHow cute! I hope Carter is enjoying all these outfits for her doll!
ReplyDeleteMarion looks so cute, I do enjoy these Wednesdays with her.
ReplyDeleteDiana
How I LOVE dolls. My living room has toooo many of them in it..about seven I think...along with other toys.
ReplyDeleteThat little outfit is just the cutest thing ...professional looking. I must pop in and see what Diane is up to. :)
You ladies are so talented. I do a little quilting but I did try to make a doll outfit once and it was the last time, lol! So I truly appreciate the amazing work that you are doing! :) Another adorable outfit ....now don't forget to pick up some sunflower seeds next time Marian's shopping!

ReplyDeleteI love Marion's little outfit today! I think Ellen needs one like that for herself. (I sound like Donald Trump talking about myself in the third person.)
ReplyDeleteI love her outfit too. If only my wardrobe looked this good.

These cute little outfits remind me so much of the clothing my mother sewed for my sister and me when we were growing up. So cute!
ReplyDeleteThis is adorable. Love the colors. You are so creative.
ReplyDeleteI press EVERYTHING!! Lol!! I love to iron......most people think that's crazy I know. The outfits are so adorable and 1000 times cuter and better made than the ones they sell for our granddaughters dolls like that
ReplyDeleteI think Marion looks absolutely adorable for her bird watching adventure. The fabric in the slacks coordinates perfectly with the floral pattern of the shirt. Beautiful work Shelia! My dollies arrived from my Ebay purchase yesterday. I can't wait to get started on outfits for them.
