Midweek with Marion and Babbette

Hello, Dear Ones and welcome to Midweek with Marion and Babbette. Babbette was thrilled to meet you all last week and hopefully will get to meet more new friends today! Marion is enjoying being the big sister to Babbette and well, I guess I'm the mommy, for now.
I go on spurts with crafts and right now I'm crocheting clothes for little Babbette. Here's another little dress I've made for her. I have to admit she is a little more alert this week. Last week she was having a hard time keeping her eyes open. You know babies!
Here's a closer view of her little dress. The bodice is made with a light multi colored yarn and the neck is trimmed in pink. The skirt is crocheted in pink and it's kind of a fancy look. I did good didn't I? :) I apologize as I can't find the pattern that I used. I have gotten all of my patterns from Pinterest and I guess I failed to save this one! Sorry.
Uh oh! Looking at this snap I believe I see a little bit of pink marker on her leg and foot! I'll have to attend to that. She's not a perfect dolly. You can see her leg is scratched. I know, I know, she needs shoes or at least some booties. I'll get to that.
I'm letting Babbette play with my little tiny teddy bear but she can't take it with her. I got this in Rome during the Jubilee year of 2000. Bought at at the Hilton where we stayed.
That little Babbette is bright eyed and bushy tailed this morning. Little stinker. Another thing, she has these little scratches on her head where her hair is painted on. I checked on line and learned it's common with these dolls. I was wondering how I might could cover them up. That's a shame about her little scratched head but I'll do what I can do. Any advice...I'm open! :)

Thanks for popping in to check out the dolly doings. Hope you'll come back next week and I'll have another outfit for little Babbette. Marion is enjoying her break. Pop on over to my friend Diane's blog Welcome to Lavender Dreams for her dollying!

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~

 She's My Girl

 Mornin', mornin' glory
If you'd like to know where was I last night
Well, I saw a girl with a boy in her eye
And she's so outta sight

She's my girl
And that's where I was last night
Off in a dream

She's my girl
I took her away last night
Went for a ride
Off in the sky, that's where I was last night

I just come back to tell ya
There's a little bit of heaven underneath the apple tree
And every time I see you with that smile upon your face
There's a little bit there for me

And she's my girl
And that's where I was last night
Went for a ride

She's my girl
I took her away last night
We went for a ride
My girl
And that's where I was last night
Off in the sky

She's my girl
I took her away last night
Off in the sky
My girl
And that's where I was last night
Gettin' so high
Off in the sky, that's where I was last night

My girl
I took her away last night
We went for a ride
My girl
And that's where I was last night
Gettin' so high
My girl
I took her away last night
Off in the sky
My girl
And that's where I was last night
Gettin' so high

  5. That Babbette is a living doll. To cure those little scratches on her noggin', remember, in Alabama, we always say, "The bigger the hair bow, the more your Mama loves you!"

  6. Hi Shelia, so nice to meet sweet Babbette this week.I missed her last week. Love the crocheted dress you created for her. Your talents are over the moon and this dress is so adorable.
Too bad about the little scratches on her head. Could you try a little stain just on the scratch area similar to the color of her hair? What a sweetie.
    Have fun created. Hugs, cm

  8. Babbette is so cute in her new outfit, Shelia. I'm wondering if there is a stain that is safe for children to fix her sweet little head. You never know if a child wants to put her dollie's head in her mouth! Have a nice day! ♥

  9. You made the cutest little crocheted doll dress. I love it. If the dolly has some scratches; it is probably because she was well loved and played with. And that is nice to know.

  17. I thought of you immediately when we went to the Farmer's Mkt last week. There was a lady there selling these little crochet dresses. I am not sure if they were for dolls or real babies. About the hair -- you could probably touch it up with paint pens. Or I think I have seen doll's wigs at the craft store, too.

  18. I was thinking paint pens also Shelia, Babette is adorable in her little crocheted dress! It's been a long while since I picked up a crochet hook. I used to crochet little dresses for my Easter bunny baskets I made. The shell stitch got me a little nostalgic!
