My sweet daughter gave us those light green chairs and we poked them in the front yard and enjoy sitting here so much. Our front yard is bigger than it looks here in this snap and the grandchildren have a ball running around and playing while we watch and supervise!
Look how our hostas have grown.
Here's how this same area looked just about a month ago! Notice that yucky stump on the left hand corner - gone! :)
We have our Cracker Barrel rocking chairs on the front porch and we sit out here so much. Mr. Precious sits out here and drinks his coffee and reads the paper. Again, how blessed we feel to be here.
I forgot to tell you, our yard usually looks like a Disney movie! Really! There are usually three or four squirrels scampering about, little chipmunks and tiny little chipmunk babies, lots of Robins and we can hear a woodpecker but haven't seen him yet! Here I go...when you wish upon a star...
Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia :)
I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~
When You Wish Upon A Star
When You Wish Upon A Star
When you wish upon a star
Makes no difference who you are
Anything your heart desires
Will come to you.
If your heart is in your dream
No request is too extreme
When you wish upon a star
As dreamers do.
Fate is kind
She brings to those who love
The sweet fulfillment of
Their secret longing
Like a bolt out of the blue
Suddenly, it comes to you
When you wish upon a star
Your dreams come true
When a star is born
They possess a gift or two.
One of them is this
They have the power to make a wish come true.
When you wish upon a star
Makes no difference who you are
Anything your heart desires
Will come to you,
If your heart is in your dream
No request is too extreme
When you wish upon a star
As dreamers do.
Fate is kind
She brings to those who love
The sweet fulfillment of
Their secret longing.
Like a bolt out of the blue
Suddenly, it comes to you
When you wish upon a star
Your dreams come true.

I'm so glad you are enjoying your lovely property and the cooler temperatures Shelia. Your street scape looks so nice with the mature trees and shrubs - a lovely neighbourhood. Have a wonderful week ahead!
ReplyDeletePam
Hi, The Lord has blessed you with a lovely, comfortable home near your loved ones. I can tell your heart is overflowing! Have a great Monday!
ReplyDeleteOh It really does look like heaven. I am so happy you are there.
ReplyDeleteYour front yard looks beautiful! I remember how wonderful summers in upstate NY can be.
ReplyDeleteI am glad you are enjoying it so much.
It's a beautiful time of year and you have such a pretty lawn. Don't come South right now....it's WAY too HOT! Sweet hugs, Diane
ReplyDeleteShoot Shelia...you've been busy too...while I've been busy here! I've looked at all of your previous posts that I've missed and see everything from Turkeys, House Tours, Marion and your large growing Hostas! I loved every single post. I love reading what you write...you sure have a way with words, my friend. Well, I'm off to take care of several other things today, like pup baths, grooming, cleaning the house, changing a few things around inside the house...all so I can go to Goodwill, Grocery Shopping and dropping off a few odds and ends to two friends of mine tomorrow, when it's going to be cooler and alot less humid. We've had upper 80's and humidity so much already this summer. We've really only had a couple of my kind of days - low 70's, partly sunny and breezy...with low humidity. My patio swing {that I put together myself} is waiting for the Pups and me. Hugs ♥
ReplyDeleteI'm going to send you some hot sticky weather so you don't forget what it feels like!!
ReplyDeleteBlessed for sure! I'm so glad you are loving it.
ReplyDeleteHello Shelia!
ReplyDeleteSuch a serene spot to enjoy with the added benefit of living near the family now! I know the happiness it brings since we did the same thing almost 3 years ago. The grandies are so precious and we would hate to miss out on this special time of our lives. Each day is such a blessing and dreams really do come true!
Enjoy your summer on that perfect porch!
Awe Sheila, so many precious blessings are upon your life my friend. Enjoy them ALL!
ReplyDeleteHugs and blessings, Cindy
Turn about is fair play. I remember going on a sunny picnic while you were up to your eyebrows in snow. Now I'm stuck in the house with the AC running and swimming through humidity while you enjoy your porch!
ReplyDeleteYour yard is so peaceful and beautiful--and lots of fun, too, with the wildlife. I love your light green chairs!
ReplyDeleteYour front looks so pretty Shelia...I love the green chairs your daughter gifted you! Hot and humid in this part of NY...I'll blow some of the stickiness your way LOL!
ReplyDeleteI am so glad you are enjoying your "transplantation." Is that a word!? The yard looks heavenly, and I can't believe how those hosts took off. I'll bet lilacs do well there, too.
Muchos besos y abrazos.
ReplyDeleteOh, Thank you, Shirley! I know you would be a wonderful neighbor yourself! I do hope you'll have a nice quite space for your little grandchildren one day. Hope you're having a nice summer.
DeleteBe a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
Hola, Sheila, por acá estamos en invierno, bueno nos está afectando mucho el fenómeno del niño. Pero aún en ciertos días podemos ver el cielo azul. Abrazos y bendiciones
DeleteIt is so lovely! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteThe hostas fill in quickly once they get going and no need to plant anything else around them!! The yard and neighborhood are wonderful and so beautiful with all the trees. I know you are bursting with joy.....as it should be..........have a blessed first summer!!! xoxoxo
ReplyDeleteYour dreams do come true! Love that song! Your yard looks peaceful with woodland creatures playing and listening to the trill of the birds ( maybe minus the woodpecker ). Kathleen in Az
ReplyDeleteThanks Kathleen and hope you're doing well.
DeleteBe a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
Love that you are enjoying your new house so much Sheila! Your front yard looks so pretty ..love the porch ! Love the song..I was just in Disney last week and hearing it there brought tears to my eyes!
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy that you're so happy in your new home. That was a huge move but worked out so perfectly for you and Mr. Precious. Your yard is gorgeous and hostas are the best.

Shelia,
ReplyDeleteYour front lawn is quite enticing, dear friend!!!
WoW!!! Your hostas are gorgeous!!!
Where you enjoy the squirrels. . .here on the Prairie. . .we have bunnies!!!
EnJOY each and every minute of those Grands!!!
Fondly,
Pat
What a beautiful, peaceful post Shelia, I too would not be able to resist sitting in the rockers or under the tree. I feel the best when I connect with nature.
ReplyDeleteJust beautiful, Sheila! There is no doubt you are loving this place....and I would give just about anything to have some of your great weather! This going into the third week of HOT, HOT temps...mid to upper 90's and more. Love that front porch....and I am just as happy as a clam to say getting a front porch is one of our home improvements this summer...yippee!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful and one of the best decisions you've made is to move there and close to the Grands!!
ReplyDeletehugs,
Linda
I take it, it has been all that hard for you to adapt to life in the northeast, now has it? I know that it isn't as hot or humid as it is in Texas or the deep south or east/central Kansas, where I am! I can't wait to get to New England later in the summer, if I don't wilt by then.
ReplyDeleteYour yard is gorgeous...do you have many mosquitoes? I love watching the squirrels and rabbits that cavort between our house and the neighbors.
Have a wonderful week, Sheila.
It looks divine, Shelia. What a sweet and lovely haven to call home!
ReplyDeleteYour yard look lovely, Shelia! I'd love to sit out there too :) I wish we were having your weather. It's been miserably hot here, as we're having a heatwave. It's 95-100 and it's usually in the 80s at this time of year.
ReplyDeleteI loved the tour of homes. I'm always so curious to see what those old beauties look like inside.
I hope you have a great week, my friend.
xoxo,
rue
So glad that you are enjoying your summer in NY. It's a lot better than that HOT weather in the South.
ReplyDeleteYour yard looks so pretty and nice shade trees. Love the rockers on the front porch and the pretty green chairs that your daughter gave you. Enjoy.

Mary

ReplyDeleteJudy
We're having such humid weather here since we are getting nothing but rain! Your yard looks so pretty and green and love the wildlife entertaining your while sitting outside. I need a pair of rocking like you have on the front porch, love rocking!
ReplyDeleteYay I'm glad to see you are so happy! The hostas really got big! It sounds like you guys are embracing living there very nicely! Those Cracker Barrel rocking chairs are comfy aren't they! We have one near us and stare at them on our way in. I'd love a covered porch to set a pair under. Isn't it fun to watch the wildlife! Hugs, Liz
ReplyDeleteIt is wonderful to hear how happy you are in your new home. :) The humidity in Texas is so horrible right now. Enjoy the fresh air! xxx Maria
