Happy Mother's Day (and I've been busy)

Hello, Dear Ones! I want to wish you all a blessed Mother's Day! I've been blessed to have our little grandchildren this weekend and again I'm worn out this morning but my joy is full, pressed down and running over! :) Just a few snaps of our fun.
Little Campie played so hard and fell asleep in my lap. Oh, my heart is full and what a wonderful feeling to hold this little one and to know he loves me, calls me 'Mama' :) , holds his little arms up for me to pick him up and gives me kisses. What more could I ask for?
Carter and I took a walk to a field in our neighborhood and watched the birds, followed a little brook and told stories of what we could do here in the summer. My little "Coo Coo" who hops up in the bed with us in the morning and says, "Shesho, it's day time and time for breakfast!" :) This little one hops up in my lap and snuggles in and tells me she loves me! Oh, my joy is full, pressed down and running over!
Now Mr. Precious is a runner and we buckled Campie up in the stroller and off he went with the baby! We wanted Campie to know his roots are from Texas so Mr. Precious put the Texas doo rag on his little head!

Lord have mercy, do I feel blessed or what? Again, I have no doubt whatsoever if this long and expensive move to upstate New York was what we were supposed to do. Yes ma'am, it was! We're close to our family, have found a wonderful church, Mr. Precious has already been nominated to head up a special missions team and I have found a wonderful ladies bible study. Oh, I have to giggle, they like my accent (my accent?). Each week our bible study has refreshments and I volunteered last week and took a lemon loaf, strawberries and sausage balls. These ladies marveled at the sausage balls, never had them before! Can you believe it? One lady said, are these meat balls? Well, yes, in a way. When I told them it was just Jimmy Dean breakfast sausage, Bisquick and cheese - they asked for the recipe! :) I thought it was a hoot! :)

I'll say one more time that my joy is full, pressed down and running over!

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia :)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~

We Are So Blessed

We are so blessed by the gifts from your hand
I just can’t understand why you’ve loved us so much
We are so blessed we just can’t find a way
Or the words that can say, “Thank you Lord for your touch”

When we’re empty you fill us ‘til we overflow
When we’re hungry you feed us and cause us to know
We are so blessed take what we have to bring
Take it all everything
Lord we love you so much

We are so blessed by the things You have done
The victories we’ve won, and what You’ve brought us through
We are so blessed take what we have to bring
Take it all everything. Lord, we bring it to you

  15. How blessed you are. Love the sausage balls story. Living in the PNW, this G.R.I.T.S. is frequently amused by things my friends here have never heard about. It is my mission to educate them about Southern cuisine, customs, and traditions.Church suppers are a hoot.

  17. Someone told me once that sausage balls were a Southern dish, but I didn't believe them! You may be spreading world peace by sharing that recipe. Hit em' with grits next time! Hahaha!

  19. Your grandbabies are adorable. When I go to my daughter's and my youngest granddaughter sees me, she yells nannie and runs to the door and grabs my leg. It is so sweet.

I didn't know sausage balls were a southern thing :) They are a favorite in my family. My mom used to make them. I do too sometimes. There is a dish I make that has sausage, cream cheese and crescent dough. It is so good.

Hope you had a lovely Mother's Day.

I'm so thankful you can have your precious grandchildren close by and that you can spend time for them to get to know you better. I'm thrilled that you have found a good church and that both of you are involved and settling in there. I love the song you shared - I used to sing it often.

  29. Oh, Sheila, your grands are just too precious. I know you are treasuring your time with them. Being a Yankee girl I have no idea about sausage balls. Do you think you could post the recipe? I'd love to try them.

  32. Oh, Shelia...I had a little tear in my eye seeing you with Camp and Carter, all the while thinking that you made that big move to be with your family. I can see how happy you are, just that twinkle in your eyes! And I'm so glad you've made friends...very quickly, too.

I'm sure your accent is very charming...I've never been to Texas, only very far south along the east coast and they don't have much of a "drawl" there. Sometimes I'm a little surprised when I hear the way people from New Your, New Jersey and Boston speak, that's different from the Midwest, too. But it's all interesting and good!

Hope you had a wonderful Mother's Day! :)

I love Upstate New York so much but couldn't live there unless there was someone I couldn't live without there. Obviously there is for you two. ♥♥
