Butterprint Pyrex!

Hello, Dear Ones! Well, if you follow me you know how I love vintage Pyrex and the Butterprint pattern is certainly one of my favorites. I haven't found any pieces to add to my collection for some time now but when we were on our little short outing in Kiki I found some more! Whoopee!
For your viewing pleasure I've put all of my Butterprint Pyrex in my little kitchen hutch.
Well, after I took this snap I saw Mr. Precious' black glass case he poked in my hutch! That guy! Now if you'll look ever so closely on the middle shelf you'll see a casserole dish I found. Because of the color and the half off price ($8), I just grabbed it and didn't realize until I got home and started to wash it that is wasn't the Butterprint pattern but Snowflake, I believe. Well, it's pretty and a divided casserole so I love it too! :) Maybe another pattern collection in the future? :)
Oh, I'm so excited about these little fridgies! I did find one of the small ones before Easter and found it's twin and the larger one on our trip! Y'all this place had everything 50% off. I think I paid about $5 for each of the pieces! Thank you, Lord! :) These little fridgies just happen to have the Rooster on them and that makes them even cuter.
Then, then...look! Three of these gorgeous little Cinderella bowls! One doesn't have a lid but it shouldn't be too hard to find one! Oh, don't you just love the pattern on these pieces?
Lovely bowls make me happy. I do use a lot of my vintage Pyrex and I just bake and go to town in them but somehow I can't put these in the oven. I know they would fare just fine but I just can't do it!
I've poked down a few cute things to finish out dressing my kitchen hutch. Love my little hen on her nest. She's sitting on a turquoise Pyrex bowl. Just plain but still turquoise.
I just happened to have a little cow creamer in the same sweet color and she was thrilled to come up from the basement. She's singing a happy song, can you hear her?
I poked down a retro looking little covered bowl and a couple of little tiny butter dishes. I had some plates with a little turquoise on them and thought they looked fine here too!
I'm happy, my hutch is happy and my kitchen is happy with  my Butterprint Pyrex. Do you collect Pyrex? If you do I'd love to know what pattern you have. Lord, I could just go crazy with this stuff!

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~

Happy (just the chorus)

Because I'm happy
Clap along if you feel like a room without a roof
Because I'm happy
Clap along if you feel like happiness is the truth
Because I'm happy
Clap along if you know what happiness is to you
Because I'm happy
Clap along if you feel like that's what you wanna do
Because I'm happy
Clap along if you feel like a room without a roof
Because I'm happy
Clap along if you feel like happiness is the truth
Because I'm happy
Clap along if you know what happiness is to you
Because I'm happy
Clap along if you feel like that's what you wanna do

Still Working In The Living Room

Hello Dear Ones. Well, I'm still in the living room doing stuff! Today I wanted to concentrate on The Finn.
I decided to flank The Finn with my two wing back chairs and work on the wall around it.
The rug helps ground this area and also makes a soft place for my tootsies to land. I don't know if I've told you or you may not care but the wall color in here is Biscuit by Sherwin Williams. It's a nice and soft color and every other color looks good with it. We used this color in the dining room, entry, master bedroom, bathrooms and upstairs hall.
As I've told you before, I'm bringing more blues into the house. I used to use a lot of blue in my decorating years ago and this house just seems to scream BLUE! So I aim to please! I hung some  plates on the wall over The Finn. I bought those blue and white dishes about 3 years ago at Marshalls thinking I would use them on a bedroom wall. Never did and now I know why I bought them. I was to use them in this house!
I got busy and made a flower arrangement as you can see. It's probably too large for The Finn but it's going to stay for a while. See the blue and white container the flowers are in? I bought this over 20 years ago at Garden Ridge and had an ivy in it. When we moved up here the ivy bit the dust but I kept my planter. You know how everything has a story! :)

I love the springy happy colors of the flowers and reminds me Spring is here although it doesn't quite feel like it yet! :)

I poked down this teeny little pair of Staffys. How I love my tiny little dogs.
There's a tiny little shelf below the mirror on The Finn and I placed this little blue and white couple and of course they both have a Rooster! :)
Now here is where I need your help. Should I look for some more dishes to hang above the platter? Is this arrangement just too boxy? Or maybe I should hang just one more on each side? You know how I value your opinion.

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia :)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~

Blue Bayou

I feel so bad I got a worried mind
I'm so lonesome all the time
Since I left my baby behind
On Blue Bayou

Saving nickles, saving dimes
Working 'til the sun don't shine
Looking forward to happier times
On Blue Bayou

I'm going back someday
Come what may
To Blue Bayou
Where the folks are fine
And the world is mine
On Blue Bayou
Where those fishing boats
With their sails afloat
If I could only see
That familiar sunrise
Through sleepy eyes
How happy I'd be

Gonna see my baby again
Gonna be with some of my friends
Maybe I'll feel better again
On Blue Bayou

Saving nickles, saving dimes
Working 'til the sun don't shine
Looking forward to happier times
On Blue Bayou

I'm going back someday
Come what may
To Blue Bayou
Where the folks are fine
And the world is mine
On Blue Bayou
Where those fishing boats
With their sails afloat
If I could only see
That familiar sunrise
Through sleepy eyes
How happy I'd be

Oh, that boy of mine
By my side
The silver moon
And the evening tide
Oh, some sweet day
Gonna take away
This hurting inside
Well I'll never be blue
My dreams come true
On Blue Bayou

This Old Gray Mare...

Hello, Dear Ones! Yep, this old gray mare just ain't what she used to be! :)
We kept the grandchildren while my daughter and son-in-law when to The City for three days.
We enjoyed them so much and had loads of fun, but I'm telling you ~ I am totally pooped!
Excuse the picture quality as I snapped with my phone.
 There were lots of puzzling...
Lots of building with uncombed hair.
Lots of laughing and trying the princess crown on brother's head! :)
 Lots of sliding...
Lots  of crawling through whatevers.
Lots of bathing to get off the daily dirt.
Lots of braiding pigtails to look like Doc McStuffins.
Lots of lining up for tap dance class.
Lots of tapping on Observation Day (yay for me!)
Lots of sitting in leather chairs at L. L. Bean.
Lots of sitting in granddaddy's lap reading "Green Eggs and Ham".

Lots of love, hugs and kisses and now it's time for grandparents to get lots of naps and lots of rest!
Wouldn't trade this for the world!

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~

The Old Gray Mare

The old gray mare,
She ain't what she used to be
Ain't what she used to be,
Ain't what she used to be
The old gray mare,
She ain't what she used to be
Many long years ago.

Many long years ago,
Many long years ago,
The old gray mare,
She ain't what she used to be
Many long years ago.

The old gray mare,
She kicked on the whiffletree,
Kicked on the whiffletree,
Kicked on the whiffletree
The old gray mare,
She kicked on the whiffletree
Many long years ago.

Many long years ago,
Many long years ago,
The old gray mare,
She kicked on the whiffletree
Many long years ago.

I'm Still Milking It!

Hello, Dear Ones! Yep, you can count on me to milk things...little aches and pains and of course MILK GLASS! Hope you're not getting tired of seeing it. These are a few more pieces I've picked up in the recent past.
Today I'm showing you a few of my Bubble pieces. I think they're just darling, don't you? First of all look at this little dish. It's not too big and it's not too little.
See the bubbles and of course the light from the sun just shines right through it. Now I think this would be a perfect little bowl for some M&Ms, don't you?
It's not round either but square. Yep, M&Ms would be perfect in this dish.

At the same time I found the bowl I found the creamer and sugar bowl. Again, preciously darling!
Have I told you how happy Milk Glass makes me?
Next look at these cute bowls. They're about 8 or 9 inches across and I have 2!! Score.

Bubble, bubble. No toil and certainly no trouble! :)

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~

Tiny Bubbles

Tiny bubbles (tiny bubbles)
In the wine (in the wine)
Make me happy (make me happy)
Make me feel fine (make me feel fine)

Tiny bubbles (tiny bubbles)
Make me warm all over
With a feeling that I'm gonna

Love you till the end of time

So here's to the golden moon
And here's to the silver sea
And mostly here's a toast
To you and me

So here's to the ginger lei
I give to you today
And here's a kiss
That will not fade away

Not Bragging On Myself...

Hello, Dear Ones! Hope you've all had a nice weekend. I got a sweet surprise in the paper and wanted to share it with you. We have a very small little branch of the main library that is very close to our house and I pop in from time to time. This time I was looking for gardening books. A young lady met me at the door with a pad and camera and asked if she could interview me and snap my picture. Why sure she could!
As you can tell, I was tinkled pink and was grinning like the Cheshire Cat from Alice in Wonderland! I really didn't say but a sentence but she put me in her tiny little article anyway. I was so honored and just wanted to share my joy with you and not so much my silly snap (I've gained 10 pounds this winter!).

If you'd like to see the little article you can click HERE

I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~

The Cover of The Rolling Stone ( just because it's fun!)

Well, we're big rock singers
We got golden fingers
And we're loved everywhere we go..... (that sounds like us)
We sing about beauty and we sing about truth
At ten-thousand dollars a show..... (right)
We take all kinds of pills that give us all kind of thrills
But the thrill we've never known
Is the thrill that'll gitcha when you get your picture
On the cover of the rollin' stone
(Rollin stone.....) Wanna see my picture on the cover
(Stone.....)Wanna buy five copies for my mother..... (yes)
(Stone.....)Wanna see my smilin' face
On the cover of the rollin' stone.... (that's a very very good idea)
I got a freaky ole lady name a cocaine Katy
Who embroideries on my jeans
I got my poor ole grey haired daddy
Drivin' my limousine
Now it's all designed to blow our minds
But our minds won't really be blown
Like the blow that'll gitcha when you get your picture
On the cover of the rollin' stone
(Rollin stone.....) Wanna see our pictures on the cover
(Stone.....) Wanna buy five copies for our mothers..... (yeah)
(Stone.....) Wanna see my smilin' face
On the cover of the rollin' stone
(talking) Hey, I know how
Rock and roll.....
Ah, that's beautiful
We got a lot of little teenage blue eyed groupies
Who do anything we say
We got a genuine Indian Guru
Who's teaching us a better way
We got all the friends that money can buy
So we never have to be alone
And we keep getting richer but we can't get our picture
On the cover of the rollin' stone
(Rollin stone.....)Wanna see my picture on the cover
(Stone.....) Wanna buy five copies for my mother..... (wa wa)
(Stone.....) Wanna see my smilin' face
On the cover of the rollin' stone
On the cover of the rollin'.......
Stone.....) Wanna see my picture on the cover
(talking) I don't know why we ain't on the cover, Baby....
(Stone.....) Wanna buy five copies for my mother
(talking) We're beautiful subjects....
(Stone.....) Wanna see my smilin' face
(talking) I ain't kiddin', we would make a beautiful cover....
On the cover of the rollin' stone......
(talking) fresh shot, right up front, Man.....
I can see it now, we'
l'll be up in the front....
Smilin', Man......
Ahh, beautiful.......

Life Is So Good

Hello, Dear Ones! Oh, I've missed you all so much!! I have been just so busy and wanted you to know I did read all of your comments on my Spring home tour and thank you so much for commenting. You probably didn't hear from me because my tiny self has being so busy!!
Hope you all had a wonderful blessed Easter. We certainly did.
Here we are posing after church with our little family.
This is Mr. Precious' sister and husband. Look how dear sister in law and I match! We didn't even plan that! We're just so talented. ;)
Our family left and on the same day some of our life long friends came to visit. We took them to the Saratoga race tracks for a little viewing of the horsies.
A man came by and gave us all caps. Oh, by the way, I really don't have clown colored checks but it sure does look like it here! These are phone snaps.
We've been friends for over 40 years! That's a long time. Just to brag on our friends - their daughter was Miss Texas a few years back.
Then the snow melted,YAY! We all went outside and have been enjoying the nice weather.

Then...it was free ice cream day at Ben and Jerry's. Of course we had to find one and the ice cream shop just happened to be at the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute! It's a lovely campus in Troy.
Then...Kiki had a baby! Yes, she did! Isn't she just a little doll? Mr. Precious is just thrilled to death.
Now when we go RVing we'll just take the baby, named Smartie, and explore. Kiki is compact enough that we can take her almost anywhere but it's work to hook and unhook her to get around. We think this little Smart Car will be the perfect ticket!
I may be a little sporadic in  my posting as you can see we have an almost blank canvas to take care of in the back yard. Gotta find out what will grow back here because when the leaves come out on the trees - it will be all shady. Oh, you can see the sunroom. I call it "The Ark" as it looks like half of Noah's ark to me! I'm a very visual kind of gal, you see. :) Well, looking at these photos, I can see the sunroom looks like a big ole bus too. :)

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia :)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~

Daydream

What a day for a daydreamin' boy
And I'm lost in a daydream
Dreamin' 'bout my bundle of joy
And even if time ain't really on my side
It's one of those days for takin' a walk outside
I'm blowin' the day to take a walk in the sun
And fall on my face on somebody's new mowed lawn
I've been havin' a sweet dream
I been dreamin' since I woke up today
It's starrin' me and my sweet dream
'Cause she's the one that makes me feel this way
And even if time has passing me by a lot
I couldn't care less about the dues you say I got
Tomorrow I'll pay the dues for droppin' my load
A pie in your face for bein' a sleepy bulltoad
And you can be sure that if you're feelin' right
A daydream will last along into the night
Tomorrow at breakfast you may pick up your ears
Or you may be daydreamin' for a thousand years
What a day for a daydream
Custom made for a daydreamin' boy
And now I'm lost in a daydream
Dreamin 'bout my bundle of joy
~ sung by the Lovin Spoonful
