I've added a new header and changed my profile snap. Just needed a change. Okie dokie...
Kinda easy...
Kinda simple. Works for me!
I started with this little heart wreath I found years ago at Target.
Mr. Precious recently bought me this cute little birdcage with the little glass birdie on the top. I love it! I poked in some tiny books and added a teacup and saucer, greens and it was a winner!
I love birds and poked up a trio of white ones. I know, you only see two but look below.
Here she is.
More books, a platter and pitcher. Don't you just adore transferware?
I filled one of my milk glass pieces with some crocheted hearts. Here's one of the hearts up close. Each little heart has a hanging chain, in yarn of course.
Boo boop be doop!
Here's a snap of the untouched snow out back except for the little pathway Mr. Precious made last week. We've probably gotten almost three feet so far and more is on the way. It's untouched because I'm not going out there! No siree bob! I'll just look out through my windows.
Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia :)
I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~
Till There Was You
There were bells on a hill
But I never heard them ringing
No, I never heard them at all
Till there was you
There were birds in the sky
But I never saw them winging
No, I never saw them at all
Till there was you
Then there was music and wonderful roses
They tell me in sweet fragrant meadows
Of dawn and dew
There was love all around
But I never heard it singing
No, I never heard it at all
Till there was you
Then there was music and wonderful roses
They tell me in sweet fragrant meadows
Of dawn and dew
There was love all around
But I never heard it singing
No, I never heard it at all
Till there was you
Till there was you
~ sung by The Beatles

ReplyDeleteI would have to walk out there in that snow at least once to take pictures.
ReplyDeleteyour mantel looks so pretty. Love the hearts you made.
Good Morning Shelia, Your mantel is gorgeous and I love transferware too. What a darling birdcage from your hubby. The glass birdie is very sweet on the top. What a great way to decorate it with the little books with cup and saucer. Just adore your crocheted hearts and roses. They are precious in the milk glass compote. Your snowy back yard is gorgeous!! Like opening a tub of Koolwhip!!
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty mantel display and thank you for the note song today. I always loved that one by the Beatles.
Happy Valentine's Day
Hugs, CM
So pretty Shelia! Love the crocheted hearts and the transferware !
ReplyDeleteHey I love that song! Back in the day, girlfriend ... good memories. But what I'm really talking about today is the crocheted hearts, oh my they may be one of my favorite things you've ever made but then I am partial to hearts. Love all the little details on them. Your mantel is so Valentine-y pretty.
ReplyDeleteMary
Good morning Shelia, Your sweet Valentine mantel has inspired me to do something for Valentines Day on my mantel. The biggest problem is I could never crochet a darling valentine heart like yours. Or anybody's for that matter. HA! I too love the birds and your sweet bird cage. Your hubby knows you well. It is a perfect Shelia gift. Smile.
ReplyDeleteDon't go out in that deep snow. It you wanted to make a snow angel...we would never see you again. "No no Nanette"
Stay warm,
Love you,
Jeanne

I'd say your brand new house is just filled with love! It's beautiful, Shelia -- happy Valentine's Day!
ReplyDeleteSweet mantel! Love your transferware and birdies. That snow is beautiful to look at, but I would probably stay in most of the time, although it would be tempting to make a snow angel!
ReplyDeleteLove the new header and your lovely mantle display. How are you holding up in our Winter??? So much fun.....!!! xoxoxo
ReplyDeleteYour yard looks beautiful, but that is a heck of alot of snow! Love your birdies and toile. Happy Valentines Day!

How beautiful your decorating is! I love your idea for the birdcage! I have one that I got years ago and sprayed white but then didn't know exactly what to do with it. Now I do! Thank you! I love your crocheted hearts - they are so adorable.
ReplyDeleteBlessings - Julie
I love your new profile pic...you get prettier each passing year. Shhhh...give me your secret!
ReplyDeleteYour mantel looks gorgeous. The wreath, I simply love berries! And your little crochet hearts. You should sell them, they'd be gone in a heart beat (no pun intended!).
Are you getting accustomed to the snow? I'm not sure if you have
ever lived in a cold climate before so I'm curious.
Thank you for stopping by today when I posted about my brand new granddaughter! We are in the same club now and I'm absolutely giddy as a new member! :)
Jane xx
Shelia, I love your new header, it is very pretty.
ReplyDeleteYour Valentine's mantle piece is very nice too, simple and attractive. I was going to make a very simple wreath to put up for Valentines day but I have the frame made and have got no further, and only 6 hours 'til the 14th now - somehow I don't think it is going to happen, oh dear. Never mind there's always next year.
Diana
OH MY! Well of course I love your mantel...AND your beautiful snow. I've never forgotten the beauty of snow and will always miss it, but I know that after being born and raised, except for a short few years of my childhood, that I could never live in it again. Such pristine beauty in nature is not often seen anymore. How lucky you are to experience it first hand. I've been wanting to ask you how you are doing with growing your hair out? Have you stuck to it? And by the way, you look ADORABLE with your hair pulled back and bangs...
ReplyDeleteYour home always looks so sweet...Always! Fits you perfectly! :)
Love,
Mona
And thank you for your comment on my "Night Frights"...Poor PH had to endure me crowding him nearly off the bed when I finally joined him. It brought back the memory so strongly, reliving it like that.
Your Valentine touches are very pretty, Sheila. Those little crocheted hearts are adorable too!
ReplyDeletethose little crocheted hearts are just too sweet! I love them. Cute mantel. Oh my that snow!
