I love dishes and I love to poke them on the wall too. I had a similar arrangement in my old Texas house but in this new/old house I actually added more plates to my wall in the dining room. I love them. Red and white or pink and white transferware! I'm smilin' here!
I just love this look! Sigh...
I thought I would carry on with the transferware groove and started poking down some Red Willow on my olden buffer (whom is nameless!) Red Willow is the sister transferware to Blue Willow. Same sweet story, same sweet images but just a different color. I have seen purple too.
Here you go...all transferwared out!
Love the dainty shape of my little tea pot. Blue/Red Willow was considered 'the poor man's china' many years ago because it was so affordable and yet such a beautiful pattern. I have mentioned this in a past post, but when you're watching old westerns, most of the time at the family dinner table they will be eating off Blue Willow dishes! Don't you just love that? Rich or poor, I love it and most of my pieces are by Churchill.
I totally fell in love with the salt and pepper set when I found them and so guess what I did? I bought two sets! I poked one set of the sweet little couples under a little cloche.
This little tiny precious darling piece is not from the Willow set but I've had it a long time, love it and it's similar in color so...it looked perfect to sit here. I'm so talented like that! :)
You can see the other pieces I have added to complete my little vignette. Now if you'd like to sit down I will brew us some tea and I'm sure I can come up with a cookie or two! :)
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~
Strange Magic (love me some ELO) ;)
You're sailing softly through the sun
in a broken stone age dawn.
You fly so high.
I get a strange magic,
oh, what a strange magic,
oh, it's a strange magic.
Got a strange magic,
got a strange magic.
You're walking meadows in my mind,
making waves across my time,
oh no, oh no.
I get a strange magic,
oh, what a strange magic,
oh, it's a strange magic.
Got a strange magic,
got a strange magic.
Oh, I'm never gonna be the same again,
now I've seen the way it's got to end,
sweet dream, sweet dream.
Strange magic,
oh, what a strange magic,
oh, it's a strange magic.
Got a strange magic,
got a strange magic.
It's magic, it's magic, it's magic.
Strange magic,
oh, what a strange magic,
oh, it's a strange magic.
Got a strange magic.
Strange magic STRANGE MAGIC
oh, what a strange magic STRANGE MAGIC
oh, it's a strange magic.
Got a strange magic.
Strange magic STRANGE MAGIC
oh, what a strange magic STRANGE MAGIC
oh, it's a strange magic.
Got a strange magic,
got a strange magic,
you know I got a strange magic,
yeah, I got a strange magic,
oo-o-o-oo, strange magic.

ReplyDeleteNo wonder you adore this look...it is STUNNING. You have such a wonderful collection and it makes me want to unpack all my blue and white transferware and tack it to my walls, too. I don't have a lot of room in my dining area for wall decor as it is wall to wall windows...which I love to the moon and back..
ReplyDeleteSheila, You have a beautiful collection of transfer aware and I love it on your dining room wall.

ReplyDeleteHello Sheila,
ReplyDeleteOh. My. Goodness. I am swooning over your wall of red transferware! The buffet looks simply charming displaying your Red Willow. I have a few pieces of both in the blue and the red/pink. The wee creamer is adorable. Love your decorating style! So glad you shared your collection with us. Have a delightful day.

so gorgeous, Shelia! red. transferware. on the wall. I just LOVE this! your buffet is styled so pretty! thanks for joining in on the first Share Your Style Party!
ReplyDeleteI love your arrangement of plates on the wall and on your sideboard, Shelia! It all looks so elegant and classic. Guess what? I have a Churchill teapot shaped exactly like yours (the handle on the lid is my favorite thing). My pattern is called "Finlandia Blue," and I've had it for about 20 years now. They're my everyday dishes and I have lots of pieces. Your Red Willow is really pretty, and the salt and pepper shakers are so unique.
ReplyDeleteYour house looks prettier every time we see it. :) I hope you're staying safe and warm; it's been brutally cold here. Have a great weekend!
Hugs,
Denise at Forest Manor
