Barbie Mondays - Movin' and Groovin'

Hello, Dear Ones! I hope you all had a fun and safe Halloween! Well, we sure did and if you follow me on FaceBook you've probably seen these snaps but if not, I'd love to show you my little grandchildren. Carter was dressed up as Merida from the animated movie "Brave" and little Camp went as her brother whom she had turned into a bear!
I thought Carter looked gorgeous in her curly haired wig! She makes a lovely little redhead too!
The little bear coat Campie is wearing is a coat we bought for Carter when she was little. It had pink bows on it and my daughter cut them off! ;) Perfect! He is just our little joy! He smiles all of the time.

We got to go to Carter's school and see their Halloween program, to the Harvest Festival at church, go Trick or Treating with the grands and then attended a neighborhood Halloween party with them. What fun we're having! So...even though I have so much to do in our new/old house, I don't have really anything to show you that is finished yet because we've slowed down to enjoy life here and what a blessing it is!

So I thought I'd have another Barbie Monday and show you some more Barbie clothes that I've made. Sit back, relax, grab your Diet Cherry Dr. Pepper and gaze upon my creations made by my own talented dainty fingers! :)
I love to crochet and this was a perfect opportunity to make something small and not get too hot doing it (this was around the first of August). I made all of these Barbie clothes about 3 weeks before we moved up to New York.
Doesn't Barbie look sweet in this soft green crocheted dress?
It's a little 'see through' and she could wear a full slip under it when she goes out! You know my desire was to make 'modest' clothes for Barbie! :) See the scalloped hem? So cute.
Now another outfit for another Barbie. I believe this has been my favorite item of clothing I have made for her so far. The jumpsuit! It's one piece and I think it's adorable. Am I bragging on myself? Well, maybe a little because it turned out SO CUTE!
Do you remember the jumpsuits from the 70s, I believe? Did you ever wear one? I did! This is the showoff Barbie and she knows how limber she is and she loves this jumpsuit and was showing me how nicely it fit her!
See, I told you she was a showoff! Were you ever able to do the splits? Well, as talented as I am, my tiny little fat legs just won't do that! Hope you've enjoyed me tossing in another Barbie Monday.
It's been so long now and I'm so sorry I don't remember where I found the pattern but it was from Pinterest I believe. Thanks for popping in to see me today!

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia :)
I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~

Legs (I'm just putting some of the lyrics up of this song because they're a little risque, but the legs part just popped into my head!)

She's got legs, she knows how to use them.
She never begs, she knows how to choose them.
She's got a dime all of the time,
stays out at night movin' through time.
Oh, I want her, said, I got to have her,
the girl is alright, she's alright.

  7. I am so glad that you are there in time to enjoy the Fall festivities with your sweet little grands. The new/old house can wait. You've got all the time in the world to do that but those special moments with the kids are fleeting.

Love your Barbie clothes. That is really how I learned to sew ... sewing for my friends' Barbies. xo Diana

  9. Oh Carter and Camp are darling. Carter looks terrific as a redhead. I know you are enjoying your time with your little darlings. I wouldn't want to miss a minute with them either. You can always finish unpacking when the weather gets bad and you have to stay indoors.
Carter's Barbie is the best dressed doll in the whole wide world. She is loving all the beautiful clothes.
    Have a great week.

  20. Carter looks so gorgeous and so does Camp. We don't really celebrate halloween over here although we did have half a dozen witches visit on the night. Luckily we had some treats for them, just in case.

  23. Oh, your little grands are so cute. Carter looks a lot like you. And she is cute as a button in her red wig. I love seeing the Barbie clothes you make. I wish my little granddaughters had been more into Barbie, but thank goodness they loved their baby dolls. I made lots of clothes for them. It is fun to do that. I enjoy your posts so much. Have a wonderful week. Stay warm. It has turned cold here in Utah. Hugs, Karie

  33. Hi Shelia, I really enjoyed your visit and I know your time is so limited with moving, precious grands etc. With all the traveling we have done this fall, I too have been having a hard time visiting. Please don't worry about not visiting, because life just needs to happen sometimes. I so understand dear. I am so looking to slowing down this winter and having more time to be on my computer.

Your grands are absolutely adorable. Carter looks like you so much. I 'love' her red hair wig. Camp is too cute. What a blessing for you both to be close enough to be able to attend special programs with your grands. This move is a good thing. I am happy for you.

Barbie has never looked so good. You have every right to brag and I seriously mean it Shelia. You are so talented in creating the most wonderful treasures. I love the crocheted dress and the cute pants outfit. I have worn the jumpsuits too. I liked that style.

    Have a wonderful week.
    Love, Jeanne
