Barbie Mondays - Green, Straight Up

Hello, Dear Ones and welcome to Barbie Monday!
Today I would like to share with you some mix and match outfits for Barbie! As I said earlier on in the little series, all of my fabric was packed away for our move so I went out and bought just a few yards to make Carter's Barbie clothes. So I made many outfits from the same fabric. You'll see that today.
Okay, a sweet little shirt and crop pants for Barbie in this sweet little green polka dot fabric. I've shown you other outfits made from this same fabric.
I added some buttons down the front and trimmed the edge of her shirt with lace. Barbie loves frilly, you know! :) The little crop pants makes this outfit look so fun and cute!
Then I used the same pattern I've used before for some slacks too. She'll get a lot of mileage from these little pieces.
Then I made this little dress which reminded me of some of the styles my daughter wore in high school in the early '90s. You know, the wide padded shoulders, dropped waist and a little bit of a skirt train. I probably should have added darts under the bust to the waist so her dress would have shaped up much nicer on Barbie.  Maybe next time.
See the dropped hem? I think I hear Paul Abdul singing...Straight Up... :)
Back to the little three button shirt...Barbie needed a skirt to go with this set so she could really mix and match her outfits. So my tiny fingers made her one.
I know, I know, you've already seen the shirt but I thought I would show it to you again! :)
Then her little skirt...the hem just at her knee. That's the most becoming length, don't you think?
Talking about length! Barbie is really milking this outfit and has decided to use her skirt as a coverup. Maybe a bathing suit coverup or a 'I've just jumped out the tub' coverup. That girl! Only Barbie knows for sure

Hoped you've enjoyed todays little outfits.

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)
I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~

Straight Up

Lost in a dream
Don't know which way to go
If you are all that you seem
Then baby I'm movin' way too slow

I've been a fool before
Wouldn't like to get my love caught
In the slammin' door
How about some information--please

 Straight up now tell me
Do you really want to love me forever oh oh oh
Or am I caught in a hit and run

Straight up now tell me
Is it gonna be you and me together oh oh oh
Are you just having fun

Time's standing still
Waiting for some small clue
I keep getting chills
When I think your love is true

I've been a fool before
Wouldn't like to get my love caught
In the slammin' door
How about some information--please

Straight up now tell me
Do you really want to love me forever oh oh oh
Or am I caught in a hit and run
Straight up now tell me
Is it gonna be you and me together oh oh oh
Are you just having fun

You are so hard to read
You play hide and seek
With your true intentions
If you're only playing games
I'll just have to say--bye bye bye bye bye bye bye bye bye

Do do you love me
Do do you love me
Do do you love me
Do do you love me ?

I've been a fool before
Wouldn't like to get my love caught
In the slammin' door
Are you more than hot for me
Or am I a page in your history-book

I don't mean to make demands
But the word and the deed go hand in hand
How about some information--please
  ~ sung by Paula Abdul

  2. They are as cute as can be!

I just noticed something. Your picture is next to Barbie's and you two have the same pretty smile! I love that shot of you! Hat is pretty cool to be as pretty as Barbie! Speaking of Barbie, I think you are having even more fun with them than Carter is, though I know she loves them, too!

    Love you...

    Sheila :-)

  12. Hello dear Shelia, I have so lost touch with you and miss our visits so much. I started blogging again in a small way about the time that you were moving. I believe you were on a moving break when I visited you last. I haven't seen you on FB and I do not want to lose touch with you.

I am happy to see you are still in the Barbie clothes making mode. Carter will have the best dressed Barbies ever. The green outfits are all so perfectly done. I love each outfit. I scrolled down to see more of your Barbie talent as well. You are an awesome and talented grandma!!!

I don't know if you have posted about your new home but I am very anxious to know how you are doing in your new surroundings. Being closer to your daughter and family is the bonus and reason for moving. We moved closer to one of our daughters when she was having her 1st baby. Since then we moved to the mountains and her baby girl is now in her sophomore year of college.

We are busy as always traveling to Fl and so on and it is always more in the Fall for the Gator football games. We love our life, so busy is ok for us.

Wishing you and your hubby all the best.
    Love, Jeanne

  14. Oh my gosh, I'm a BARBIE girl too! I am lovin' this Barbie post, and what a cute outfit this is. I love the polka dots. You know, I still have my Barbie from when I was a young girl, and my mom made some outfits for her, which I also still have. She's kind of worn from all the years, but it's the one thing I never gave away.

Have fun making clothes for your Barbies, my friend.

    love,
    ~Sheri

  15. Your daughter might learn how to select style for herself while playing with Barbie. One more fact, in the case that your children have problems choosing a dress, it can be the opportunity for you.

  16. Everyone has their own gaming needs and desires there are some who want the best gaming on the computer and nothing else working at the same time, for some calm and quiet nature of gaming pleasure is all that is needed and then there are others who want the games on while other applications being run on the PC simultaneously too.The Sims Mobile
