Did You Miss Me?

Hello, Dear Ones!!! I've been gone from Blogland almost a month! Did you miss me? Oh, I did miss you all so much. I think this has been the longest I've been away from Blogland in the entire time I've been blogging! We were gone in Kiki for almost a month and covered around 4,000 miles! We were in nine states! I'm a bit pooped but did want to drop in and let you know I'm back.
If you follow along with me, I know it's no surprise that we took Kiki to upstate New York to see our little grandchildren! Oh, how I love these two little ones. My heart was just so happy while we were with them.
Carter is four now and is quite the little character! You don't suppose  she could take after her grandmother do you? :)
Little Camp is nine months old now and crawling like everything. He cut two teeth while we were there and cut another one after we left. He thinks he is so big for now he wants to completely feed himself. No more poking the spoon in his mouth - he wants to pick everything up himself! This is the sweetest little boy. He will tilt his head to one side and give you the biggest smile. I taught him to say 'Da Da' while I was there. I really did! ;)
Of course Chloe Dawn went along with us. She got a little jealous and pouted and peed all over my daughter's hard wood floors - more than once! She never does anything like that at home. Mr. Precious poked her in the bouncer for a moment and I think she actually liked it.

I have so much to share with you and just can't do it all at once. I'm so behind on my You, Me and Little Kiki blog and will try to get caught up on our travels. So for the next little while, I'll be posting over there to share our journys with you.

Now, guess what? We did look at homes while we were in New York and we put a contract on one! Yes, we did! It's only about 3 miles from our daughter and son-in-laws and those babies!
I. AM.  ESCATIC!
Things don't move as fast in upstate as they seem to down here in Texas when it comes to buying a house but if all goes well, we're supposed to close on the house in late August. Can you believe it? I'm just walking around in a fog. I'm so excited. Houses are a little different up there and have basements! Yea! This basement is not finished but oh the possibilities of storage! It was built in the 80s but feels much older to me. Anyway, the bones of the house are good but it needs a lot of attention - like pulling down 1980s wallpaper - all over the place! It has nice oak hard wood floors too. It's not as big as our other house but that's okay. It's on a beautiful lot with lots of trees and hostas, y'all! Hostas so big you could hide suitcases under them. Not that you would want to do that.
Anyway, we have another busy road ahead of us and when things are finalized I'll show you the house. Lord, have mercy! God is so good. I have been praying that He would find us a house at the right time and really didn't think it would be on this visit. But we had done our footwork (internet work) as I was looking at Zillow every day for any new house that had come on the market, so we already had our favorites and that helped the realtor tremendously. The house we picked was actually one I had toyed with over and over thinking - nah, then okay, then nah.

Anyway, I've blabbed enough and can't wait to start our new journey. Man, we've been on a journey since we put our old house on the market in January, sold it and moved over here in May to The Little House and now we'll be moving again. Pray I have the strength to do all I need to do. God is good and I know He'll give us the stamina - I'm so delicate, you know!

Love love to you all and I hope you'll come along with me as I share our trips with you on my other blog in a few days.

You are all my sweeties!
Shelia ;)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~

For Once In My LIfe

For once in my life I have someone who needs me
Someone I've needed so long
For once, unafraid, I can go where life leads me
And somehow I know I'll be strong

For once I can touch what my heart used to dream of
Long before I knew
Someone warm like you
Would make my dreams come true

For once in my life I won't let sorrow hurt me
Not like it's hurt me before
For once, I have something I know won't desert me
I'm not alone anymore

For once, I can say, this is mine, you can't take it
As long as I know I have love, I can make it
For once in my life, I have someone who needs me
~ sung by Stevie Wonder

It is so lovely to hear from you Shelia, I was thinking the other day that I had not seem a post from you for a while and here you popped up today and you had indeed been off in Kiki, and buying a house too!!!! I am so pleased for you that your new home purchase is underway, you will have so much fun decorating and getting it just how you want it to be, but not as much fun as being so near to your daughter and the rest of your family too! I hope that everything goes really well for you and that you keep loving whatever life brings your way. xx

  16. Hi Shelia! Your pictures are so pretty. Have I ever told you that one of my best friends lives in Upstate New York? She lives in Fairport right on the Erie Canal. It's so beautiful in that part of the state! If you can adjust to the cold I bet you'll just love it.

  18. I kind of figured you were off on a big adventure since you got quiet! Congrats on the new house find- it sounds marvelous! I know you will miss Texas for many reasons, but New York is similar to where I live and other than the winters you'll absolutely love the spring, summer and fall time! Best of all being close to your daughter, husband and grandchildren! XO, Liz

  20. So glad to see you back, Shelia! It sounds like you had a wonderful trip and visit with the grands. Two little cuties they are. My granddaughter will be 4 next week ~ where did that time go?!? I'm sure she is a "pip", too. The things they say sometimes. : ) Congrats on finding a property! That was faster than I think you planned, wasn't it? Probably best that you grab it while you can. It sounds wonderful that you are so close to your family. I am about 3 miles {that I can walk!} from my daughter's house. It is great being able to see them often.

  21. Shelia, I'm so excited for you and Mr. Precious! And especially for your grandchildren! My son and his family used to live in the Rochester area! Lovely people there...they thought I had an accent!!! I laughed and told them, that I didn't have one. I said, "y'all do" and they roared laughing! There are great people everywhere. I know you will enjoy the laughter, whenever a new person notices your lovely accent! Best wishes!

  25. Our granddaughter and her family looked on Zillow for months to find a house that wasn't grabbed up but this was Washington state. They finally found one for $800,000 and had to place a bid OVER that to get the house! Can you believe that? It's very expensive in that part of the country. Cheaper by far in Idaho. I'm glad you found one though but it'll be different living in NY.
    xoxo,
    Connie

  28. You know I missed you Shelia!! I thought you might be looking at houses while visiting those Grands and the news that you found one is so awesome! God is so good! I know you will love living so close to your family. I love being close to mine and with my Mom here it's so much better. She is still setteling in and adjusting but I'm praying she is happy. I love seeing her so often. As for me, I'm beat! This moving is not fun and i'm still trying to catch up and rest. I am taking a little vacation the end of the month and I'm looking forward to that! I need to get back to blogging more often but I'm so tired all the time. I'll keep my fingers crossed about the house and sending big hugs and prayers!

  32. But of course we missed you! I haven't been blogging all that much..so you wouldn't have seen that much of me anyway.. :) I sort of drift in and out.."life" you know. I am so excited for you,Shelia..this is going to lots of work but such a wonderful adventure. You are still young enough that you can do it all with one arm tied behind your back. I did it twice in my 70's so I KNOW you can do it.. It's so great how things just seem to fall into place when we are ready!
    Great song, by the way!

  38. What precious babies and yes I did miss you. So glad you are back. So excited for you. It is one of my greatest desires to be near my babies. I pray for it and believe that one day we will. David has a few years from retirement. I'm sure it will take selling house and selling everything, but I'd give it all to be near my babies.
