Don't Water the Flowers!

Hello, Dear Ones.
I wanted to show you today how you can have some color outside without live flowers - like me if you know you're not going to be able to tend to 'live' plants.
Since we'll be traveling, I knew I couldn't have any pretty little flowers out here on the little deck in the hot sun because they'd die and dry up like a cracker. So I got an idea!
I grabbed a pot and a bag of pea gravel then I visited the Dollar Store and found these little metal flower sticks.
Now I had some little flowers that didn't require any water! I was loving this! Just poked the flower sticks into the pea gravel and I had blooms! I love this stuff. Also found the little hummer with wings that twirl away when the wind is blowing.
I had to bring this little cement statue because he looks just like my son when he was little! Well, my son did have two arms. This little guy had a mishap and lost his little arm. ;(
Then Bunny Foo Foo. We've been together for a very long time and I decided to bring her too. I do believe I need to give her a good scrubbing.
So you can have colorful blooms even in the hot heat and no flower heads will wilt. No, no Nannette, they won't!

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~

You Don't Bring Me Flowers

You don't bring me flowers
You don't sing me love songs
You hardly talk to me anymore
When you come through the door
At the end of the day

I remember when
You couldn't wait to love me
Used to hate to leave me

Now after lovin' me late at night
When it's good for you
And you're feeling alright
Well, you just roll over
And you turn out the light

You don't bring me flowers anymore

It used to be so natural
To talk about forever
But 'used to be's' don't count anymore
They just lay on the floor
'Til we sweep them away

And baby, I remember
All the things you taught me
I learned how to laugh
And I learned how to cry
Well I learned how to love
Even learned how to lie

You'd think I could learn
How to tell you goodbye
'Cause you don't bring me flowers
Anymore

Well, you'd think I could learn
How to tell you goodbye
'Cause you don't bring me flowers
Anymore
~ sung by Barbara Streisand and Neil Diamond

  3. I'm worried about my flowers getting dried up when we travel this summer, even with helpers to water them. Fingers are crossed. I love your options!

  5. And looks like you're on the second floor so no one will get your porch pretties while you're gone.

    Amazing!!!
Loved seeing Bunny Foo Foo. . .and I think the mossy look is working on her, dear friend!!!
Now if we were neighbors, I'd keep those flowers watered for you while you were gone.

  15. Hi Shelia,
I love your sweet little new home. You really have dolled her up. The kitchen is fun and colorful! I still love wallpaper too. I might wallpaper my guest room. The size of your home is perfect and since you want to travel it will be easy to lock her up and be on our way!
    Have a sweet day, Elizabeth
