A Little Look Back Through My Mays

Hello, Dear Ones!
I have so much going on at the moment and just haven't had time to snap some new images to post so I thought it would be fun to look back through my 6 years of blogging and show you a post from each year during May. So here goes...you may remember some of these...
Last May I was busy playing in the dining room and you can see that post HERE.

In May of 2012, I starting to show you my vast collection of Currier and Ives dishes.
You can see the start of my collection HERE.

You know how I love my Roosters and I thought those dried roses would make a pretty snap in May, 2011. HERE is the post.

May of 2010, I was busy showcasing some Daring Darling Bathroom Beauty Snapping Divas.
See anyone you know?
You can see that post HERE.

Do any of you remember the blogland paper doll, Stella? She was an idea from Lindsey Ann from England and Lorrie, sadly both do not blog any more. Well, in May of 2009, she was passed around through a number of bloggers to stay a month with us and then we were to blog about her adventures we had with her. I got her and totally had a ball. I really went far out with her and I think you might like what she did under my watch! She had amazing adventures with me and if you'd like to read about Stella, you can start HERE. Stella part 2: HERE. Stella part 3: HERE. Stella part 4: HERE. Stella part 5: HERE. Stella part 6: HERE. Stella part 7: HERE Stella part 8 and the last one: HERE

I don't have a May in 2008 to show you because I started blogging in June of 2008, but this is my very first post and you can read it HERE. You may want to scroll through some of the comments on this post as you may see lots of bloggers, past and present. I had been a member of HGTV's Rate My Space and decided to start blogging along with many others. Seems like ions ago!

I thought this was fun to look back through my Mays of blogging and hope you've enjoyed it too.

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~

The First of May

When I was small and Christmas trees were tall
We used to love while others used to play
Don't ask me why, but time has passed us by
Someone else moved in from far away
Now we are tall and Christmas trees are small
And you don't ask the time of day
But you and I, our love will never die
But guess we'll cry come first of May
The apple tree that grew for you and me
I watched the apples falling one by one
And I recall the moment of them all
The day I kissed your cheek and you were gone
Now we are tall and Christmas trees are small
And you don't ask the time of day
But you and I, our love will never die
But guess we'll cry come first of May
When I was small and Christmas trees were tall
Do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do
Don't ask me why, but time has passed us by
Someone else moved in from far away
~ sung by The Bee Gees

  2. Shelia, what a fun post! I started blogging about 5 years ago and I can't believe it's been that long. I still love blogging but have been so remiss in posting the last few months. I hope to make up for it once I get my Mom moved to Georgia. Hugs to you and the Mr.

  7. Oh heavens! That brought back memories. I remember getting the birds and not getting them sent off in time and getting into a wee bit of trouble. :) I started blogging the same year you did. I didn't recognize any of the ladies or the gent in the photo's..but I do remember you helping my daughter Mary and I get some photo's of her bathrooms to you..and a picture of ourselves in the mirror. You were so sweet to us. Neither of us, Mary or I, knew what we were doing. You were so patient. I've looked back at some of what I did in decorating and some of it I like better than what I do now. I loved the trip back in time.
Hugs and love to you, Shelia!

  8. That was a great post. I remember the bathroom divas, those were some great pictures. The Currier and Ive's china reminds me of my mother. They were my favorite dishes when I was growing up. I only have a few of the original dishes but my sons have been buying me a few pieces at a time to help rebuild Mom's set. Thank you for sharing Shelia.... Have a wonderful week..... Candy

  22. It's always fun to look back on the pleasant times in our lives. You have had lots of great posts in May. I have a complete set of those Currier and Ives dishes. We had a little elderly lady in our neighborhood whose husband passed away suddenly. We kind of adopted her and helped her because she did not drive. She gave me the set of these - all still in the cardboard boxes. She had gotten them years before when a service station gave you a boxed place setting when you filled up with gas. Don't know how old they are. I kept all of the boxes. But, I love the blue and white on them.

  24. Shelia what fun you've had and what friends you've made since you commenced blogging!
It's lovely to reminisce back through the blogging years.
The second image of this post is my favourite as it was this pic (I think) that first drew my attention to your exquisite cutlery/flatware/silver!! You may remember I was on a serious hunt for a new boxed set of flatware. To date the search continues and I haven't found "just" what I'm after. Close enough is not good enough!
    Take good care
