I'm Now A Dot Com! UPDATE

UPDATE!!
Just wanted to answer some of your questions you've had in my comments. This is what the most marvelous Linda from Life and Linda told me:

"No...you will not lose anything. Everything on your blog is the same.
People won't even notice, unless they see the .com in their browser. Easy peasy!
Don't worry your pretty little head, because it all works the same as before."

Again, isn't she wonderful? Thank you so much, Linda! Okay, on with my old post...

Hello Dear Ones!
Well, I'm not actually a dot com but my blog name is now a dot com! Note Songs has been a blogspot.com for years but after reading Linda's post who blogs at Life and Linda, I purchased, well, I guess the terminology is I've 'registered' the domain name for my blog for a small amount at GoDaddy.com.
http://www.jonathanright.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/dot-com-blank-wo.jpg

Now I'm not really sure why this is a good thing as I don't advertise on my blog or have an Etsy shop, but I do know the name "Note Songs" now belongs to me. I also know we who use Blogger, which is free, don't actually own our blogs but we do own the contents on our blogs. Again, I'm sure many of you know so much more about this, but .com just looks so much more spiffy than the other, don't you think?

So, if you have me in your blog list, would you mind to change my blog address to NoteSongs.com? I know you're being redirected right now but I don't know how long that will last and I certainly don't want to loose any of you.

Now, I have to toot Linda's horn. She helped me so very much to get my .com and she has a wonderful post up with all of the instructions for you if you'd like to buy your domain name. I guess the only thing that could be disheartening, is if your blog's name has already been taken. You have to check because you never know. I was fortunate there was no other Note Songs out there.

Please go read Linda's post at Life and Linda and learn how to purchase you own domain name too. She has a great tutorial with pictures!  I'm a dot com! I'm a dot com! I'm a dot com! :)

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia :)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~

Time To Change

Sha na na na na na na na na
Sha na na na na
Sha na na na na na na na na
Sha na na na na

Autumn turns to winter
And winter turns to spring
It doesn't go just for seasons you know
It goes for everything

The same is true for voices
When boys begin to grow
You gotta take a lesson from Mother Nature
And if you do you'll know

When it's time to change (when it's time to change)
Don't fight the tide, go along for the ride
Don't ya see
When it's time to change, you've got to rearrange
Who you are and what you're gonna be

Sha na na na na na na na na
Sha na na na na
Sha na na na na na na na na na
Sha na na na na

Day by day you're facing the changes you've been through
A little bit of living, a little bit of growing all adds up to you
Every boy's a man inside
A girl a woman too
And if you want to reach your destiny
Then here's what you can do

  4. Congratulations, Shelia. I read someplace that you are much more important if you are a dot.com. Has something to do with your Google standing if someone wants to "google" you. I will check out Linda's post. Thanks for sharing the info..Happy Wednesday..Judy

  9. I already own savannahgranny.com but I have not used it. I didn't know it would better to do so but I will go over and read about it. I see you are still using blogger for publishing. Am I correct to understand now that you are publishing under the .com, do you own your blog now and just use blogger for publishing? I am such a dummy on these things.
Congrats on being a .com. You are the sweetest .com I know.
    xoxoGinger

  13. I've been in the dot com group for awhile and it was a good change. I changed mine because of some directions I was going with my music ministry I wanted to make my blog easier to find. It's a lot of fun to own your domain.

  16. Good for you,I did read Linda's post about it. and thought it such a reasonable price. I did have a domain once for 2 yrs when I started publishing my books. I signed up at $29.95 and the second year they took $40 out of my Pay Pal,so I quickly cancelled it. When I saw Linda's post I thought of signing up,but haven't so far.
Love the way you put a song up that matches your post. xx

  23. Sheila, you are such a dear. I'm very happy you are a Dot com. It is better all the way around. You own that name and what a bargain price to boot. As far as Blogger is concerned, they are the publisher. Nothing changes. The re-direct is automatic and will always be there. No need to change a thing, unless you want to. You won't lose a thing! Your followers won't lose a thing. I am glad you shared this, because bloggers do need to do this! There are more benefits as you stated than being the same old boring blogspot.com Thanks again Sheila...Love your song choice....xo Linda
