A Blackberry Kind of Day

Hello, Dear Ones!
I was piddling around in my post section of the blog and ran across this post I never put up last year so I thought I would share it with you today...

Not much going on today.

So I thought I'd eat some blackberries because they won't be around much longer!

 Aren't these yummilicious looking?

Well, since I set this up just for you I'll show you my cute little tea towel I've made with my own tiny dainty talented fingers! :)
A closer look at the ruffles.
Have to pat myself on the back sometimes.
Especially since not too much is going on today but eatin' blackberries.
I just love me some big ole fat juicy blackberries.
Now I must confess I do sprinkle a little sugar on top so the sweetness is even sweeter!
Here you go!
I love to share!

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~

Blackberry Wine

There's a south wind risin' and the moon shines on my window sill
I've got a feeling I might walk on over the hill
I'm bent but not broken, all I need is some rest
And a bottle of your very best
Blackberry wine
There's a new moon risin' and the wind sings it's old song
Pass it on over it's a sin to be sober too long
I'm bent but not broken, all I need is my share
Of a bottle of that very rare
Blackberry wine

My old gal's got a new dress on five and dime
Try as she will she can't get me to come home on time
But I'd never cheat her or mistreat her you know
As over the mountain I go
Blackberry wine

I'll be soft spoken
All I need is my rest
And a bottle of your very best
Blackberry wine

Now my days are numbered and one more heel's been killed
Blackberry John left me his old recipe in his will
I'm bent but not broken, all I need is some time
And a bottle of your very fine
Blackberry wine

Blackberry wine,
You know that I'm quite dry without you
Blackberry wine

  6. I love blackberries so much and have happy memories as a child picking them beside the road with my siblings. My dear Mama would make a blackberry roll that was to die for. I've tried to duplicate hers but it's just not the same. Thanks for the reminder of hot summer days as a child. ♥

  18. Shelia,
Thank you for the blackberry, dear friend!!!
Here on the Prairie, we've had Strawberries and blackberries from the grocery.
Usually this early in the season they taste "blah", but the ones we've purchased have been terriffic!!!
I adore your ruffled tea towels!!!
Today, I washed and ironed my vintage tea towels and hung them in the kitchen!
Yellow & white check and stripes!!! Quite cheery!
Have an amazing First weekend of Spring!!!
    Fondly,
    Pat

  19. Hi Sheila, I used to love picking wild blackberries when I was a kid, big, juicy, flavourful ones - they are not like that anymore. I'm just stopping by to say how delightful your blog is. Thanks so much for sharing. I have recently found your blog and am now following you, and will visit often. Please stop by my blog and perhaps you would like to follow me also. Have a wonderful day. Hugs, Chris

  21. Blackberries are awesome. When my children were little, we would all go out and pick blackberries. We had coffee cans with strings around our necks and then we had two free hands to pick. Memories of jam and cobbler... The tea towel is darling, just like you sweet Sheila. xo
