Time For a Change

Hello, Dear Ones
Well, I thought I'd bring you out of the kitchen and into the den and show you the changes I've made in my builtins.
I took away a lot of books and a lot of other stuff.
I know this is not very minimal for some of you but I do like 'stuff'!
I'm just using less of my stuff. :)
Here the first area. See? Less stuff.
Yep that's Mr. Precious camera and it's hooked up to that extension cord that I cannot seem to hide.
I'm just sure when he's away he spies on me with his Ipad since it is pointed right at my chair where I sit and blog!
The middle section is really void of lots of my stuff.
Do you like my green backs? I painted the backs of my builtins the sweet color of green a couple of years ago and just love it. It kinda reminds me of ah, um, Jadeite! :)
Here's the last side...really simplified for me.
I hope you've enjoyed seeing the changes in my builtins.
My mantel clock seems to stay up there on the top middle shelf instead of the mantel.
My olden pair of tiny little lamps and that tray seem to stay here also.
I guess Mr. Precious' camera is going to stay there too so he can spy on me when he's away!
I need to talk to him.
Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~

Every Breath You Take

Every breath you take
Every move you make
Every bond you break
Every step you take
I'll be watching you

Every single day
Every word you say
Every game you play
Every night you stay
I'll be watching you

O can't you see
You belong to me
How my poor heart aches with every step you take

Every move you make
Every vow you break
Every smile you fake
Every claim you stake
I'll be watching you

Since you've gone I been lost without a trace
I dream at night I can only see your face
I look around but it's you I can't replace
I feel so cold and I long for your embrace
I keep crying baby, baby please

Every move you make
Every vow you break
Every smile you fake
Every claim you stake
I'll be watching you

A Few More Pieces

Hello, Dear Ones.
Well here lately I've been visiting lots of thrift shops and hitting the jackpot!
I love that, don't you?
Lookee at what I found!
 Some more Jadeite!
Hop hop skippity hop!
Jumping up, spinning around, touching the ground!
Get down, turn around, go to town...boot scootin' boogie!
Well, you've seen my little salt and peppers but they fit so well with my other new pieces so I just added them to the vignette.
Is this not the sweetest little butter dish you've ever seen?
It has a little criss cross pattern across the top.
Then...screaming on the insides so I won't scare Mr. Precious...
this biscuit jar!
Oh, she's gorgeous!
Now these pieces are not old ~ they're reproductions.
Do I care?
Shoot no!
I don't care here and I don't care there. Heck, I don't care anywhere! :)
I have an olden biscuit jar just like my new Jadeite one but it's blue.
I've put these little things right next to my cook top so I can grab the salt and pepper while I cook. I don't have any butter in my dish yet but I've poked my biscuit jar full of little sweetner packets.

I would love to have all vintage Jadeite, my bowls are all olden, but on doing a little research I found out the newer reproduced Jadeite is really more durable. The olden kind has bubbles and imperfections in the glass sometimes because of the way they were manufactured and can break or crack more easily.
It doesn't bother me if it's vintage or not ~ I. LOVE. JADEITE!!

I'll calm down now. :)

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~

Dream A Little Dream (did you know this song is originally from 1931 and was sung by Ozzie Nelson of the old time show 'Ozzie and Harriet'? You know, Ricky Nelson's dad. I've put that version at the end of the lyrics and thought you might enjoy it. Good music never dies, Dear Ones!)

Stars shining bright above you;
Night breezes seem to whisper 'I love you'.
Birds singing in the sycamore tree.
Dream a little dream of me.

Say nighty-night and kiss me;
Just hold me tight and tell me you'll miss me.
While I'm alone, blue as can be,
Dream a little dream of me.

Stars fading but I linger on, dear -
Still craving your kiss.
I'm longing to linger till dawn, dear,
Just saying this...

Sweet dreams till sunbeams find you -
Sweet dreams that leave all worries behind you.
But in your dreams, whatever they be,
Dream a little dream of me.

Stars fading but I linger on, dear -
Still craving your kiss.
I'm longing to linger till dawn, dear,
Just saying this...

Sweet dreams till sunbeams find you -
Sweet dreams that leave all worries far behind you.
But in your dreams, whatever they be,
Dream a little dream of me.

Behind the Glass

Hello, Dear Ones!
Well, I thought I'd keep you in the kitchen for one more post.
Let me show you my favorite little kitchen corner.
You know how I love to decorate my little kitchen corners but
I love to decorate my one little glass front cabinet door too.
This cabinet is pie shaped inside and pretty deep so I can poke lots of things in here
but I wanted something pretty to show off in front of the glass.
So I poked in bowls.
Sweet little pretty in pink Gooseberry Pyrex bowls.
There is one more little bowl stacked in the big one.
She's just helping support her family for the moment. ;)
Then on the middle shelf I poked in some pretty little turquoise Butterprint Pyrex bowls and one solid turquoise bowl.
Then on the top shelf I poked in some darling little bowls I found a few years ago at Marshalls.
Smile sweeties! :)
It's fun to 'play' in the kitchen, don't you agree?
I'll enjoy my little corner for a while and then I'll change it and enjoy it again.
On and on we go!
Here I go being shameless again! :)
Have I shown you Buttercup, my little cow creamer?
I know I have but just look at her one more time and I promise you won't see her again for maybe...
a week or so! ;)

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~

Stuck in the Middle With You

Well I don't know why I came here tonight,
I got the feelin' that somethin' ain't right,
I'm so scared in case I fall off my chair,
And I'm wonderin' how I'll get down the stairs

Clowns to the left of me,
Joker's to the right,
Here I am Stuck in the middle with you
Yes I'm, Stuck in the middle with you

And I'm wonderin' what it is I should do,
It's so hard to keep this smile from my face,
Losin' control, yeah I'm all over the place.

Clowns to the left of me,
Joker's to the right,
Here I am Stuck in the middle with you

Well You started off with nothin'
And your proud that you're a self-made man
And your family all come callin'
Slap you on the back and say
keee.ee.ee.eys, plea.ea.ea.ease,

Tryin' to make some sense of it all,
But I can see it makes no sense at all,
Is it cool to go to sleep on the floor,
You don't think that I can take anymore.

Clowns to the left of me,
Joker's to the right,
Here I am Stuck in the middle with you

Well You started off with nothin'
And your proud that you're a self-made man
And your family all come callin'
Slap you on the back and say
Plea.ea.ea.ease, plea.ea.ea.ease

Well I don't know why I came here tonight,
I got the feelin' that somethin' ain't right,
I'm so scared in case I fall off my chair,
And I'm wonderin' how I'll get down the stairs

Clowns to the left of me,
Joker's to the right,
Here I am Stuck in the middle with you
Yes I'm, Stuck in the middle with you.

Stuck in the middle with you,
Here I am stuck in the middle with you

Adding To My Small Jadeite Collection

Hello, Dear Ones!
I love Jadeite, don't you?
The soft pale minty green makes my head swirl.
Which brings me to my recent find...
 Tadah!!
A pretty little swirly minty green Jadeite bowl.
 She is a beauty.
She goes perfectly with my bigger Jadeite swirly bowl.
One more swirly bowl of the appropriate size and I'll have a set of three.
Well, I have three bowls, but the bigger one in the back is as smooth as a baby's bottom
and has not one swirl, but I'm keeping her.
Here's my little small collection of Jadeite.
You've seen my most gorgeous Jadeite Rooster which is not an olden piece.
Then at the Cracker Barrel, I found these new darling little salt and peppers which I'm using every day.
Do you like my little collection?
Oh, wait a minute...
...have you seen my little cow creamer?
I know, I'm shameless! :)
Well, as I've said before ~ she keeps popping up so I decided to give her a name.
Blog friends, meet Buttercup!!
Never hurts to have a little Buttercup cow creamer with your Jadeite.
Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia :)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~

Build Me Up Buttercup

Why do you build me up (build me up) Buttercup, baby
Just to let me down (let me down) and mess me around
And then worst of all (worst of all) you never call, baby
When you say you will (say you will) but I love you still
I need you (I need you) more than anyone, darlin'
You know that I have from the start
So build me up (build me up) Buttercup, don't break my heart
"I'll be over at ten", you told me time and again
But you're late, I wait around and then (bah-dah-dah)
I went to the door, I can't take any more
It's not you, you let me down again
(Hey, hey, hey!) Baby, baby, try to find
(Hey, hey, hey!) A little time and I'll make you mine
(Hey, hey, hey!) I'll be home
I'll be beside the phone waiting for you
Ooo-oo-ooo, ooo-oo-ooo
Why do you build me up (build me up) Buttercup, baby
Just to let me down (let me down) and mess me around
And then worst of all (worst of all) you never call, baby
When you say you will (say you will) but I love you still
I need you (I need you) more than anyone, darlin'
You know that I have from the start
So build me up (build me up) Buttercup, don't break my heart
You were my toy but I could be the boy you adore
If you'd just let me know (bah-dah-dah)
Although you're untrue, I'm attracted to you all the more
Why do I need you so
(Hey, hey, hey!) Baby, baby, try to find
I-I-I need you-oo-oo more than anyone, baby
You know that I have from the start
So build me up (build me up) Buttercup, don't break my heart

Have You Seen Her?

Hello, Dear Ones!
How y'all doing today?
Well, not to be repetitive or anything but
have you seen her?
Have you seen my little cow creamer?
Isn't she adorable?

I'm wanting to post about other things but everywhere I turn here she is!
She's so cute I have to grab my camera and start snapping!
I just can't help myself.
Have you seen her before?
She's so darling and sings so beautifully!
I'm sure she'll tire of being in the limelight in a few days
but until then...I'll keep on snapping her!!

I'm joining How Sweet the Sound for Pink Saturday

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia :)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~

Have You Seen Her

One month ago today
I was happy as a lark
But now I go for walks
To the movies - maybe to the park
And have a seat on the same old bench
To watch the children play (huh)
You know, tomorrow is their future
But to me, just another day

They all gather around me
They seem to know my name
We laugh, tell a few jokes
But it still doesn't ease my pain

I know I can't hide from a memory
'Though day after day I've tried
I keep sayin' she'll be back
But today again I lied

Oh, I see her face everywhere I go
On the street, and even at the picture show
Have you seen her?
Tell me, have you seen her?

Oh, I hear her voice as the cold winds blow
In the sweet music on my radio
Have you seen her?
Tell me, have you seen her?

Why, oh, why
Did she have to leave and go away (oh, yeah)

Oh-oh-oh, I've been used to havin' someone to lean on
And I'm lost
Baby, I'm lost (Oh)

Oh, she left her kiss upon my lips
But left that break within my heart
Have you seen her?
Tell me, have you seen her?

Oh, I see her hand reaching out to me
Only she can set me free
Have you seen her?
Tell me, have you seen her?

[Spoken:]
As another day comes to an end
I'm lookin' for a letter or somethin'
Anything that she would send
With all the people I know
I'm still a lonely man
You know, it's funny
I thought I had her in the palm of my hand

[Repeat to fade:]
Have you seen her
Tell me, have you seen her (tell me, have you seen her?)

I Was So Moo-ved!

Hello Dear Ones!
Oh, I'm so excited to share with you today something I found!
Is this just the cutest little cow creamer you've ever seen in all of your born days?
I thought it was time I got out and take a peek in some thifty shops.
I saw this little cow creamer and just fell head over heals in love.
Look at that precious hand painted face!
She sings constantly too. I love that. :)
She even has a bell at her neck.
And she has the cutest little cow bum!! :)
My roses are on their last leg so I pulled off the spent petals and poked a couple into her opening.
I love it and poking roses in are much prettier than poking in milk.
Have I told you I'm in love!!??!!
I was visiting my friend Kimmie at Savvy Southern Style and there in her vignette, staring at me with those little hand painted eyes was the same little cow creamer!!!
I squealed with delight! This gal and her cousins must get around.
She wanted to take a ride and my little red truck was perfect.
Now, I'm waiting til the cow comes home!
Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia :)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~

Milk Cow Blues

Well I woke up this mornin', looked out my door
I can tell my milk cow, could tell by the way she lows
So if you see my milk cow, won't you drive her on home
Cause I ain't had no milk and butter, since my cow's been gone

Now you gotta treat me right, baby
Day by day
Get out your little prayer book
Get down on your knees and pray
Cause you gonna need, you gonna need my help someday
And you goin' to be sorry, that you treated me this way

Well I said sail, sail on
I said sail on pretty gal, sail on
Well I said sail, sail on
I said sail on pretty gal, sail on
You're gonna keep right on sailing
Until you lose your happy home
(Let me hear you make it)

Well I tried everything little woman, to get along with you
Now I'm gonna tell you what I'm gonna do
Gon' quit my cryin', leave you alone
If you don't think I'm leavin'
You can just count the days I'm gone
Cause you ain't gonna see me
You ain't gonna see my sweet face no more

And you goin' to be wondering
Where in this world I'm gone

Copy Cat Cracker Barrel Biscuits

Hello, Dear Ones!
Do you love Cracker Barrel Restaurant like I do?
Yummy home cooked food.
Well, I have found a wonderful copy cat recipe like the CB biscuits!!
Just gaze your most gorgeous peepers on these puppies!
They taste as good as they look too. Actually I think they taste a little better than the biscuits at CB because we eat them right out of the oven while they're piping hot and sliced with pats of butter just melting on the insides!

Look at how high they puff up!
Just a little tip: if you want your biscuits to rise high when rolling out your dough, leave the dough about a half inch or more high, then cut.
For years I used a glass to cut my biscuits, made since to me, but later found out that hinders the rise. The glass seals the edges and prevents them from rising well.
So I use a sharp biscuit cutter dipped in flour and voila! Puffed up high biscuits.

I always take a little of the left over dough and roll it up by hand to make a little biscuit for my little Chloe Dawn, my mini Schnauzer. She gets hers without butter though.

I hope you'll try these biscuits as they are so delicious and so easy!
Let me know if you like them.

Cracker Barrel Old Country Store Biscuits

2 1/4 C. Bisquick Mix
2/3 C. Buttermilk
1 tsp. Sugar
1 Tbsp. Butter, melted

Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Mix first three ingredients together, add 1 Tbsp. of the melted butter into batter. Stir ingredients until soft dough forms. Turn onto surface that has been dusted with flour. Knead 20 times, roll 1/2 inch thick, and place in an ungreased 8 by 8 cake pan. Place biscuits next to each other. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes.

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia :)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~

Yummy, Yummy, Yummy

Yummy, Yummy, Yummy.
I got love in my tummy,
And I feel like a-lovin you:
Love, you're such a sweet thing,
Good enough to eat thing
And that's just a-what I'm gonna do.
Ooh love, to hold ya,
Ooh love, to kiss ya,
Ooh love, I love it so.
Ooh love, you're sweeter,
Sweeter than sugar.
Ooh love, I wont let you go.

Yummy, Yummy, Yummy,
I got love in my tummy,
And as silly as it may seem;
The lovin' that you re giving,
is what keeps me livin'
And your love is like
Peaches and cream.
Kind-a like sugar,
Kind-a like spices,
Kind-a like, like what you do.
Kind-a sounds funny.
But love,honey
Honey. I love you.

Yummy, Yummy, Yummy,
I. got love in my tummy,
That your love can satisfy;
Love, you're such a sweet thing,
Good enough to eat thing
And sweet thing, that ain't no lie.
I love to hold ya,
Oh love, to kiss ya,
Ooh love, I love it so.
Ooh love, you're sweeter,
Sweeter than sugar.
Ooh love, I wont let you go.

A Little Morning Starshine Tablescape

Hello, Dear Ones!
First of all just ignore the 2013 on my watermark...
a little senior moment! :)

Okie dokie!
I set the table in my breakfast room and wanted to share it with you.

The centerpiece of my table is this frosty glass Rooster I found recently.
It was one of things, you know, love at first sight.
He has one little flaw ~ his beak is chipped.
I don't care! No, no, Nannette, I don't care.

I love him so much that I put him up on a pedestal and surrounded him with flowers.
He does feel so special! :) I love that.
Okie dokie! I'm using my black and white Rooster dishes.
So many of you have them and some of you have them in red and white.
Perfect napkin rings ~ little chicks gifted to me. My black and white napkins work perfectly.
I'm using some olden silver-plate. Just love this stuff too.
Do you like my tablecloth? Well, it's a large piece of fabric I've yet to use and it works beautifully with my dishes don't you think?
A little glass for some sippy of your choice.
This is a breakfast table so I had to have a sugar bowl and creamer.
The most dainty little butter pat ~ just for you!
I found these darling little individual creamers at Central Market and fell in love.
So guess what? I had to have them. I'll admit I fall in love easily! ;)
Hope you've enjoyed my little starshine tablescape today and I'm hoping you're having a blessed starshiny day! :)
Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia :)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~
