Changing Things Around

Hello, Dear Ones!
Well, after putting away all of the Christmasing I wanted to start with a clean slate so I cut back on my vignettes in the kitchen.

Just a little tray of cuties.
Got a new man for Christmas! Don't you love my Jadite Rooster! He's so handsome and I love him. Don't tell Mr. Precious! ;)
This is the time for lemons to become ripe so I've been enjoying fresh lemons.
I've always thought fresh lemons were a nice Christmas present from God to me! :)

Some of the lemons have those little black specks. Maybe they are from birds pecking on them? I just don't know. Anyway, lovely lemons in my lovely vintage Pyrex.
Then I simplified the Baker's Rack.
This may be a little too simple for me. I love color so I don't know how long I can stay with the white. But it's just January.
Then to my little hutch in the breakfast room.
I'm thinking the top of the hutch is too heavy with stuff.
I love my stuff.

Again, this is simple for me - my girls with one green Rooster.
I'll see how long I can hold my resolve. I have to admit, it does feel nice to decorate a little more simply. My 'simply' may be too much for some.
This year has started off with a bang! We've been going through the house and tossing out the junk, decluttering and rethinking what we really want to keep.
Aww...it does feel good to know that behind those doors in the cabinet - it's neat and orderly.
Wonder how long it will stay that way?

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~

You Make Me Feel Brand New
My love, I'll never find the words, my love
To tell you how I feel, my love
Mere words, could not explain

Precious love, you held my life within your hands
Created everything I am
Taught me how to live again

Only you came when I needed a friend
Believed in me through thick and thin
This song is for you
Filled with graditude and love

God bless you
You make me feel brand new
For God bless me with you
You make me feel brand new
I sing this song 'cause you
Make me feel brand new

My love, when ever I was insecure
You built me up and made me sure
You gave, my pride, back to me

Precious friend, with you I'll always have a friend
You're someone who I can depend
To walk a path that sometimes bends

Without you, life has no meaning or rhyme
Like notes to a song out of time
How can I repay
You for havin' faith in me

God bless you
You made me feel brand new
For God bless me with you
You made me feel brand new
I sing this song for you

  1. I love your space Shelia, it's always so pretty and welcoming. I too have been decluttering, after going through Mom's things, I feel the need to cut back.

  2. You're very inspiring, Shelia! It looks lovely -- I'm still working on Christmas! And I'm OK with that -- but it will be nice to bring about some of the old and some of the new again!

  3. Well you didn't tell us you got that awesome Jadite roo for Christmas! He's the most beautiful one you've ever had (I won't tell Mr. Precious if you don't tell the other roos!). My word for this year is simplify and it's happening all over my house. I like your simply decor, too.

    Hugs ~ Mary

  4. Hi Shelia, So nice to visit with you. I adore your Jadite rooster. My last 2 kitchens were green. The lemons look great. A funny memory from when I first married John. His parents sent us lemons from their home in FL. I was baking a banana cake and it called for the juice of 1 lemon. Well, I should have known that the FL lemons had a LOT of juice. That was a very sour banana cake!!! Blessings to you in the new year.

  19. Darling rooster! You know I like "stuff" too! I noticed your canisters on the shelf over the bakers rack. I think I used to have some like that long ago -- wish I still did. I have no idea what ever happened to them. Hope you are not freezing down there in Texas.

  27. It looks lovely Sheila, simple and fresh. I love all the glass hen dishes!! Wow, you lemons look so wonderful....what a treat that would be to have fresh ones for the picking. I am really in the mood to do the same revamping in my house, but have been a little slowed down with knee replacement surgery, so eventually it will get done. It always feels so good to have a fresh clean pallet in January, doesn't it? Blessings, Linda
