Simply Having A Wonderful Christmas Time

Hello, Dear Ones! I pray y'all had a marvelous Christmas! I have to tell you that we certainly did. We rose early, packed the car with all of the presents from our house and drove the long distance of three miles to our daughter's house for Christmas! :)
Here was her tree with all of the presents stowed underneath. Our son in law made us breakfast - pancakes - and he is a great pancake cooker.
So the little children had to wait until after breakfast to dig into the packages. Felt a little sorry for them. :( But they were both so patient. Here little Campie is still mesmerized by the Christmas ornies.
I thought this was so cute. My daughter gave me a solid milk chocolate candy camera - being a blogger and all! :) I must tell you, it didn't survive because I ate it! Every little milk chocolate morsel of it! ;)
Campie was loving Christmas and it was so much fun seeing him trying to open presents. Here he's taking a break resting on mom's leg.
What a complete mess! But Mr. Precious came to the rescue with a huge trash bag! :)
I just had to show you this one. There was so much 'stuff' on the floor - papers, ribbons and such, Campie somehow acquired a ribbon tail. I promise no one put this on him. He didn't have a clue he had a tail! :)
I know these snaps are not the best as I was so excited to be with these little ones, but I just wanted to share a little of our joy with you!

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~

The Day After Christmas

Here comes the letdown Christmas is over
Here comes the meltdown, there goes the cheer
But before we have a breakdown, let us remember
The light of the world is still here

Happy day after Christmas
And merry rest of the year
Even when Christmas is over
The light of the world is still here
The light of the world

Come January I’m ready for summer
The Super Bowl’s over and I’ll settle for spring
Sometimes we all need a change in the weather
But it won’t change the reason we sing

Happy day after Christmas
And merry rest of the year
Even when Christmas is over
The light of the world is still here
The light of the world
The light of the world
The light of the world

So take down the stockings, take back the sweaters
Take down the lights and the star and the tree
But don’t let this world take your joy after Christmas
Take joy to the world and just sing

Happy day after Christmas
And merry rest of the year
Even when Christmas is over
The light of the world is still here

Christmas Home Tour

Hello, Dear Ones! I have so enjoyed this Christmas season in blogland and have loved seeing all of your homes decorated and especially the tours! It's getting late but I wanted to give you a tour of my home too! You've seen some of these snaps before but just pretend it's the first time you've seen them! :)

We still have snow! It's melted here and there but the front yard is still covered!
This sled greets you as you come up on the front porch. The previous owners left this 1950s sled and how excited I was! I couldn't wait to poke things on it for Christmas time!
Well, come on in ~ it's cold outside. I'm not going to say too much as I have lots of snaps to show you so just mosey around.
Well, I couldn't be silent too long! :) You haven't seen the dining room Christmased up yet. We put a white tree in here and I put my painted on the inside Christmas balls on it.
I got some new curtains and I didn't even make them! Woo hoo!
One more tiny word from me...I was decorating with my little grand children in mind and put together a nutcracker centerpiece for them. They gave me oohs and ahhs and I loved it!
A few little vignettes in the kitchen.
Peeping over to the breakfast room side - yep, that's a highchair. Little Campie sits there and ooos my Christmasing! You know how I love that.
I do love my little kitchen hutch and I have the same Walmart dishes that so many of you have. I think they are so sweet. I bought mine last year or the year before, whenever they first came out but only bought service for four. Well, this year I had to buy two more place settings and they've fancied up a little more the dinner plate! The new ones have a big clump of mistletoe at the top! I did buy the trio of little bowls that go with this set! I love them!
 The mantel in the den.
I made this wreath years ago with the white shabby roses and hung it out here in the sun room. I just added an olden Christmas ball.
I don't really have the sun room very presentable yet but thought I would show you a few Christmasy spots.
I put my baker's rack out here. I thought about painting it white since all my wicker is white but as time goes on,, I'm leaning toward keeping it black. I covered it up with my white tureens. In this snap you can see how the windows are arched. I wanted to add some window coverings for privacy especially during the winter when the leaves are all gone, but am stumped as to what to do. I'm cheap too and don't want to spend three arms and a leg.
Well, that's my tour and I hope you've enjoyed it. I've so enjoyed all of your comments as you've watched me trying to set up our new/old house. Merry Christmas to you all, your families and God bless you. I'll see you sometime after Christmas as I enjoy this special time with my family.
Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~

I'll Be Home For Christmas

I'll be home for Christmas
You can plan on me
Please have snow and mistletoe
And presents on the tree

Christmas Eve will find me
Where the love light gleams
I'll be home for Christmas
If only in my dreams

I'll be home for Christmas
You can plan on me
Please have snow and mistletoe
And presents on the tree

Christmas Eve will find me
Where the love light gleams
I'll be home for Christmas
If only in my dreams
If only in my dreams

Christmas Vignettes in the Living Room

Hello, Dear Ones! Can you believe it's almost Christmas? Well, I thought I would show you a little more of the living room all Christmased up! First I dressed up The Finn for Christmas. What? you don't name certain pieces of your furniture? You know you do. :) Well, anyway, here is The Finn...
I poked down one of my favorite Nativities! It was on the coffee table but little hands were playing with it a bit too much so I bought it up here.
All are gathered around the newly born baby Jesus, the Light of the World, the Prince of Peace, Wonderful, Counselor!
The angel is looking down from above with joy in her heart as well as a little sadness because Jesus has left heaven. Reminds me of a song - Heaven Must Have Missed You When The Father Kissed You Goodbye...Oh How The Angels Cried.
A little peep in The Finn's mirror.
Since you can see a little bit of the coffee table in The Finn's mirror, I'll just go ahead and show it to you.
I popped down three of my cloches and poked all kinds of nonbreakable Christmas ball under them. Red, green and gold. Little fingers you know! :)
I placed a few of the balls on the outside of the cloches and then added some beaded garland. Not too fancy, not too hard but I liked the look.

Oh, you can see, we brought the High Boy in here. I just didn't like it in the dining room and I think it balances the wall better in here. Okie dokie, one more area to show you.

In our Texas house the Little Richard resided in the dining room. But here in our new/old house he's become my music cabinet in the living room. I gave him a mirror, clock and a lamp so he's very happy! Not to mention his in innards are filled with song! I do believe he is waiting for a paint job in the future.
The top of Little Richard is all Christmased up now!
Another treasured Nativity sits here...
with candle light in the background. Kinda like the stars of Heaven! :) Yeah, I like that. I don't know why I added the big red Christmas ball, but it's staying for a while.
Star of wonder star of night...
Well, there's my little tour of the vignettes in the living room and I so hoped you've liked them.
I know it's getting late but I'll have my Christmas home tour coming up before Christmas! Keep on Christmasing my sweeties!
I'm joining Dwellings for Amaze Me Monday

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~

Silent Night

Silent night, Holy night
All is calm, all is bright
Round yon virgin, mother and child
Holy infant, tender and mild
Sleep in heavenly peace,
Sleep in heavenly peace.
Silent night, Holy night
Son of God, love's pure light
Radiant beams from thy holy face
With the dawn of redeeming grace,
Jesus, Lord at thy birth
Jesus, Lord at thy birth.
Silent night, Holy night
Shepherds quake, at the sight
Glories stream from heaven above
Heavenly, hosts sing Hallelujah.
Christ the Savior is born,
Christ the Savior is born.

~ sung by all of us
