Hello, Dear Ones!
As I'm popping around Blogland, I see you all are really Christmasing up your homes and I thank you for all of the beautiful inspirations.
I'm bringing you into my den today to show you what I've been up to.
Last year I made a gazillion little glitter houses for Christmas.
I had so much fun and glitter was all over the place!
I loved it.
If you'd like to see how I made them you can go HERE
This is where I had them last year, in my breakfast room hutch.
I just loved this display but didn't want to do the same thing this year so...
I decided to use my builtins.
I just popped down some 'snow' over my stacks of books and poked houses on top.
I'm so talented like that you know! ;)
Here you can see a little bit closer.
Smile, you're on candid camera. Yep, that's a camera. Mr. Precious has his cameras around our home so when we're away he can 'check up on it'. So don't you try to break in and set off the alarm because this little camera will start recording you and you'll go to jail. I would just hate that! :)
Mr. Precious is obsessed, what can I say! :)
Now here's the other side.
I had to poke other things among my little houses to help fill up the shelves.
Then the center and not one little house at all!
I'm being a bit lazy this year as I just poked the little Christmas tray right in front of the other tray that I keep up all year long. The Christmas tray was in my house when I was a little girl.
In about 1978 I made the little JOY picture. Remember crewel embroidery?
I just have to bring it out each year.
Here comes Santie Claus!
Here's one little house close up.
Now dear ones, I tell ya ~ I'm not going to make any more glitter or glitterless houses.
I went to Tuesday Mornings yesterday and picked up 3 glitter houses ~ five times bigger than mine with little lights on the inside and much more sturdy. And guess what? They only cost $6.99 each! Poop! I worked for months on mine.
Never. Again. Never. Again, I tell ya! I'll show them to you later.
Okie dokie! That's what I've been up to. I must tell you by touching all of my glitter houses I'm covered again with glitter. I do look much more gorgeous when I'm glittered! :)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~
Christmas Time Is Here
Christmas time is here
Happiness and cheer
Fun for all that children call
Their favorite time of the year
Snowflakes in the air
Carols everywhere
Olden times and ancient rhymes
Of love and dreams to share
Sleigh bells in the air
Beauty everywhere
Yuletide by the fireside
And joyful memories there
Christmas time is here
We'll be drawing near
Oh, that we could always see
Such spirit through the year
Oh, that we could always see
Such spirit through the year...
~ from A Charlie Brown Christmas

ReplyDeleteShelia, everything looks beautiful! I know what you mean about the glitter! Can't help but love it at this time of the year! :)
ReplyDeleteI love how you mixed your houses with other things - especially Santa in his car.
ReplyDeleteOh you are just so much fun! This looks so festive and adorable love love love it.
ReplyDeleteIs that a trio set of Wedgewood - those light green unglazed porcelain ceramic trees? I ♥ them!!
Wonderful little glitter houses! I do not have the patience. That Santa tray and the crewel are really cute. I wonder whatever happened to my crewel projects? I haven't seen them in a long time…
ReplyDeleteShelia your village is wonderful and so is that shelving unit! Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteGina
You are so talented my friend...I remember you making them last year but didn't know you made that many! They are gorgeous! I remember my mother having some and would put them under the tree with lights in the back of them.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful evening.
Rondell
Your talent never ends! This so cute. Love that Santa in the car too! I remember the little houses that you made last year. I was wondering if you were going to use them again!
ReplyDeleteWell, your glitter houses look great on the built-ins, you are indeed so very talented. Very excited to see your new houses from Tuesday Morning!
ReplyDeleteMary
I absolutely adore them. I love the snow over the books -- it's all too cute for words. An idea I may borrow!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty and festive! I really like that Santa tray - very cool looking.
ReplyDeleteI love your houses displayed in your builtins. The green background is perfect for them!!
ReplyDeleteI wondered if that little white thingy was a camera....good idea!!! Men love gadgets like that!!! Love all your little houses, they look great in the built ins......and I like that they are all different sizes too. I know you worked so hard on them last year, and how delighted little Carter was with them all!!!
ReplyDeleteHow talented you are with those glitter houses! Everything looks wonderful, it is so nice to be ready early!
ReplyDeleteNever mind Shelia, no-one else has glitter houses like the ones you made. They are personal to you. They look great where you've placed them. And I do love your little red truck too.
ReplyDeleteI had to search for the camera, it blends in nicely.
Diana
Those are just darling, Shelia. And while Tuesday Morning may have NICE houses they don't have the love and soul that yours do. Love them in the bookshelves! xo Diana
ReplyDelete. This is my daughters first Christmas in her own place. So I gave her some Christmas ornaments and decorates to take to her place. I have a ceramic village I did a couple of years ago with a train that runs thru it, which I gave her. You would of thought I gave her the moon she was so happy.
ReplyDeleteLove your village they are so cute. You really did an excellent job on them. You can really get hooked
ReplyDeleteon those. Your hutch looks good this year and was great last year also.
I'm almost complete on my decorating. Said I wasn't going to do much, but I told a BIG FAT fib because I really did to much, but I love CHRISTMAS!
Have a great rest of the week Shelia.
Mary
Your little winter wonderland looks very festive and cheerful Sheila! Looks like you're all ready for Christmas-enjoy:@)
ReplyDeleteI just love all the little Putz houses you made, Shelia! They're still on my to do list and one of these years I'm going to make my own! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThese look adorable ...love the stacks of snow. Very clever ! Who cares what they sell them for in the store...it is wonderful that you'd made your own. I think that is in the tradition of the old German putz villages and they too were made by hand. Under our Christmas tree when I was a child were a mix of store bought and hand made...my grandfather had made a log cabin.Knowing it was made by hand made if ( OF COURSE! !:) the most special one :) Your collection and display are just wonderful!
ReplyDeleteLove it!!! Love the Santa Coke tray too! I have looked for one and haven't found one yet! It will turn up one day though. The hunt for an object is part of the fun anyway and you appreciate it more when you looked and waited! Of course you look even more gorgeous with glitter!!! Glitter makes everything prettier! Sounds like Mr. Precious and my husband do not need to talk - they might share ideas!!
ReplyDeleteHave I told you lately I love you? And, I love your glitter houses and your display.
ReplyDeleteOh, and of course I love glitter. We all need sparkle in our lives.
I love all of your glitter houses Shelia. They are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteYour home is looking so festive! Love the glitter houses and how they well...glitter!! :)
ReplyDeleteIt looks so festive and fun! You poked, wee, Shelia!
ReplyDeleteI need to get your address so be looking for an email from me, k?
Love you,
Sheila
Your little houses are so cute! I love the way you've done them this year. I have ceramic houses and they aren't going to be an entire village this year, either. They are going to be scattered 'cute-ly' around home. That is - whenever we get them down from the attic. Soon. I hope. You always inspire me.
ReplyDelete~Adrienne~
I just love the little houses. My Mom had some when I was growing up, but I don't have any of them due to a flood when I was a teenager. Shelia, you made me buy something and I want to say Thank you. I love that red truck you have and bought one last week online. Can't wait to get it.
ReplyDeleteYour little house are really pretty and I love the way you've displayed them. Everything is looking very festive!
ReplyDeleteHi Sheila, your little minatures are darling you have displayed them beautifully. You have quite the collection. I love the little truck. I hope you are enjoying the holidays. xo Linda
ReplyDeleteLove your glitter house all arranged on your shelves, Shelia. They were a lot of work for you but so worth it to have them because you made them. I kept looking and looking for the video camera and couldn't see it. I'd be hopeless breaking into a house as I'd get caught looking for the camera! LOL
ReplyDeleteAdorable, Shelia. Hope your little ones will be with you for the holidays. I know Carter's eyes will sparkle at the sight of these shelves.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the sweet note about the loss of my mom. I know you two share the same sadness this holiday. Hugs to you……Sarah
These are perfect Sheila, you are sooo creative!!!! I love it!
ReplyDeleteCount-down mode now talented glitter lady! Aha, Mr Precious is a security buff - beautifully disguised!
ReplyDeleteShelia, I adore the Santa tray - its exquisite!
Shelia, I am back to say that I just sent an email to your aol address. I hope that is the correct one. Please let me hear from you at your earliest possible convenience.
ReplyDeleteLove you,
Sheila
I remember when you made those pretty little houses. You may have bought some at Tues AM, but you know nobody is going to have any like the ones that you made by hand. Love the way you've arranged them on the bookshelves, and you are so clever to snow cover your books. I did a lot of crewel work in the 70's and still have a few pieces of it. Your Joy picture is so pretty. laurie
ReplyDeleteOh, your Little houses are so adorable and the entire White lovely bookshelves are awesome with the C'mas touches! You, my friend, are so talented and so creative...love it sweetie! Thank you for visitng me, you made my day Darling! Have a happy holiday month.
ReplyDeleteFABBY
Stunning Sheila and charming too!
ReplyDeleteYou should be so proud of those little houses. Even if they are inexpensive in the store they still aren't as original as yours!
Hugs,
Cindy
love! love! love! all the glittered houses, I've discovered these on Pinterest too lol! I'm thinking glitter! lol!
ReplyDeleteHelen
Life is more fun with glitter ;) HPS, Sheila! The village is adorable. Hugs and Summer greetings from Australia♥ ~Pernilla
ReplyDeleteI love your sparkly paper village, it is so enticing and so sweet...I love the way you have it all displayed so wonderfully...I love all the little vignettes, love the beauitiful colors...great job...
ReplyDeleteHi Shelia, I love how you displayed your glitter houses last year and this year too. I love the pastel colors and the different designs. You really made them look so beautiful. I know how hard you worked on them and the ones you bought can't possibly be as special as your handmade glitter houses. Covering the books etc. with cotton batting makes your houses look like they are on a hill. Love the look.
ReplyDeleteI also think your mantel looks very charming with your darling truck. I too made a wreath and I loved Matt ad Sheri too. Now HGTV has too many home buying shows. I miss the old shows very much. I am just starting my Christmas decorating. Since we have been home from our trip to Fl. I have been 'swamped' with appointments and things I had to do every day we have been home. I have missed your posts but I am back.
Have a wonderful weekend and stay warm.
Love, Jeanne
Good Morning Shelia, I am loving your little Putz houses. I have a Pinterest board devoted to glitter houses. Your houses are lovely and you have done a marvelous job of displaying them. I really wanted to make a few of them myself this year. I have six sheets of poster board in the car and a brand new jar of glitter (wow! glitter is really expensive now). There is just never enough time to do everything.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day..... Candy
Sheila I just love your snow village!! And I love how you covered the books with "snow". So, so darling! :-)
ReplyDeleteVanessa
your decorations are stunning ! I loooove your houses !
ReplyDeleteYou coudn't possibly look more gorgeous!! But a little glitter does make anything better, huh? I can't believe how many houses you made! They are all precious and can be handed down. XO
ReplyDeleteLOVE, LOVE LOVE this post!! Beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Deb
