Hello, Dear Ones!
I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving.
We certainly did and now it's time for the Christmasing!
Some of you saw my little truck I found! Isn't he the cutest thing?
He just had to be the centerpiece on my mantel.
He just needs his headlights to light up but alas they don't.
I'll get over it. :)
There you go! I even lit the fire for you as our temps have dropped and it actually feels like wintertime. The 40s here on the island feels like the 30s! Brrrr...
I found these two glitter houses at Marshalls for $9.99 a piece!
Yay! Aren't they sweet and they have a little light inside so all the windows light up!
Perfect, I think!
I have to tell you that I made that thing over 6 or 7 years ago!
Do you remember when HGTV was really great with wonderful decorating shows and do it yourself shows? Remember Room By Room with Matt and Shari? Well, Shari made an ornie wreath and I just had to make one too. Last year or so I poked it on top of a fake pine wreath to make it look bigger.
I'm so talented as I sprayed it lightly with white paint to make it look like snow!
Wish I had put colored lights on my garland but shoot it already the little clear ones and I just didn't want to change them.
Oh, my goodness! My little angel is totally bored with all of this and slightly embarrassed
as I poked a little candle ring on top of her head!
I just wanted to make her look festive.

Shelia, you mantle looks wonderful! Yes I remember when HGTV had wonderful programs on it, not so much anymore though. I like the white lights on your garland. I think I will have to take a trip to Marshall's tomorrow! :)
ReplyDeleteGina
Beautiful mantle......I like the white lights better, makes the focus more on the wreath!!! Just saying..........and you just couldn't wait to show off that red truck!!! I loved Room by Room.........
ReplyDeleteYour mantle looks great Sheila! I love your wreath and yep, I miss the real decorating/crafting and real cooking shows too:@)
ReplyDeleteLOVE the wreath and a great idea to put it on the pine wreath!
ReplyDeleteThanks for popping in to see me, Deb! Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving.
DeleteThere you go, your mantel is Christmas-ed up! It's the first time I've seen your ornament wreath, very pretty! And the two houses from Michael's are fantastic, love that they light up. Can't wait to see what else you decorate ~
ReplyDeleteHugs ~ Mary
Sheila, you just reminded me how much I loved Room by Room on HGTV! There were so many good crafty and decorating shows on it back then! My TV was always on that channel back then...I rarely watch it anymore...it's all about real estate, house flipping, and mostly expensive designs that don't appeal much to me...oh well...I am starting to make the Fall/Christmas transition today. I love the retro look of your glass wreath! Have a great weekend :)
ReplyDeleteYour mantel is stunning Shelia, and I love your wreath it is so full and festive:)
ReplyDeleteEverything looks so pretty and I love that truck up there all front and center. :)
ReplyDeleteHI Shelia. Your mantel looks so pretty and I love your little red truck at the centre of it. Your garland is gorgeous and so thick and pretty, along with your beautiful wreath. It's very festive looking. Have a lovely weekend. It's way below freezing up here in eastern Canada. Hugs, Pamela
ReplyDeleteShelia, your mantle looks so vintage with the wreath and that sweet truck. Love the little cherub too. Your fireplace looks lovely all ready for Christmas!!
ReplyDeleteShelia, it looks marvelous! Love the truck, the houses, the garland, and the festive wreath! I don't know how's hat angel could be bored except that you are so good you don't provide her with much activity for rescue! ;-)
ReplyDeleteLove you,
Sheila
Hee-hee- your angel does look embarrassed! :)
ReplyDeleteI love your mantel- it looks fab! Oh wouldn't that be fun if the headlights DID light up?
Alas- I have discovered that I can't hang my ornie wreath on the front porch! The cold draws the glue away from the bulbs. I'm trying to find a way to make it work yet. I'm determined like that. ;)
Shelia I am loving your mantel this year. The ornie wreath (very clever to put on top of a pine wreath to make it larger) and the garland is great. I love the little houses but my fav has to be that adorable red truck!!!I am ready to get some Christmas decorating done ! Yay!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty......I have to get a mantle some day.....maybe in my home in Heaven!! But that truck....adorable!!!
ReplyDeleteOh, I could sit there for hours! So cozy and pretty.
ReplyDeleteIt's gorgeous! I got TG down today and am bringing up Christmas, load by load! Can't wait to get it up and ready! Fa la la!
ReplyDeleteI have a big village of these paper houses that came from Marshalls and T J Max. I go early each Christmas season to see if they have any. I have never used them, but some day in some way I will. Love your truck,Richard and Sissy
ReplyDeleteIt looks wonderful. Seems like I remember you making that wreath... I've been sitting here half the day trying to get inspiration for my mantel, and somehow I'm just coming up empty. I've got Xmas stuff strewn all through the house, and just not having any ideas.
ReplyDeleteBrenda
Omg, Shelia! We were just talking about all of the old HGTV shows that came on, starting Thanksgiving night, with great Christmas ideas!! It was "Prime Time Saturday Night". Room by Room, Kitty Bartholomew, Joe Ruggiero, with Homes Across America, and Chris Madden. Those were the days! Your Christmas mantel looks awesome! Hope you had a great Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteYour mantel is very pretty ... now, I want a little red truck but may just have to settle for my little red wagon.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Audrey Z. @ Timeless Treasures
Your mantel is gorgeous! I'm just a wee, tiny bit jealous of your vintage-y truck and glitter houses! They are wonderful. I still have pilgrims and Autumn décor on my mantel. Tomorrow. Maybe! Busy day today.
ReplyDelete~Adrienne~
Everything is so pretty Shelia! You do such a lovely job Christmasing your home!! ♥
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty mantel. I'm surprised I don't see a Christmas Tilda perched up there.
ReplyDeleteYour mantel is so very pretty, Shelia! I love the ornament wreath and the little red truck is adorable. I also made a glass ornament wreath around the same time and gave it to hubby's brother and sil as a hostess gift. Wishing you a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful, festive mantle. I just love the little houses. Especially the one with the snowman waving; so adorable. I think I missed your birthday Shelia so a "Happy belated Birthday". Hugs, Deb
ReplyDeleteI loved Room by Room. I wish they still made shows like that today. I really miss them. I love your wreath.
ReplyDeleteYour mantel is fantastic! I miss all the good shows, too. There is nothing like that now.
ReplyDeleteI love it Sheilia! The old truck is fabulous! I have a couple I'll be using this year. One is actually a red tractor pulling a wagon. The wreath looks great with the greens behind it. Sweet houses and I like the contrast of the clear lights on the mantel. I hope you will link this to our 'Creating Christmas' party that starts on the 7th.
ReplyDeletehugs,
Jann
It's all just so beautiful Shelia. xx
ReplyDeleteYour mantle looks great Sheila! I love your little red truck, and white houses and the wreath. xo
ReplyDeleteThese are so gorgeous Sheila.
ReplyDeleteHappy Pink Saturday!
Regina
Your mantel is beautiful Shelia! I LOVE your little red truck....
ReplyDeleteSo pretty. I've started decorating.
ReplyDeleteShelia,
ReplyDeleteSo festive and ready to celebrate Christmas at Note Songs, dear friend!!!
I adore all the glistening lights!!!
Yes, I watched Room by Room every chance I got...which wasn't as often as I liked...
still working in those days!
Thanks for sharing!!!
Fondly,
Pat
I love your little red truck carrying the tree, and your little angel.I remember Room by Room and wish HGTV would have more programs like that again. I looked up Matt and Shari on Youtube and saw a few of their old projects.
ReplyDeleteShelia, your mantle decorations are lovely and nostalgic. It's time for me to get my Christmas decorations out and ready for the family...can't wait to see them. Thanks for visiting my blog. Helen
ReplyDeleteThat little red truck may not have working headlights, but it shines so brightly, carrying that tiny Christmas tree to its new home on your fun and festive mantel! So pretty, Sheila, love the garland, all dressed up in pretty red berries and white sparkling lights!
ReplyDeletePoppy
I love your wreath Shelia! You did a great job. Yes, I remember some of the great shows HGTV had. I wish I could remember my most favorite one. The host was a woman and she did tablescapes and food and decorating. It was delightful. I also remember Savoire Faire or something like that. I loved two gardening shows and I see the hosts but can't think of their names at the moment. It was better in the beginning than now I think. I love the cooking hosts but the competition stuff I don't care for nor the real estate stuff.
ReplyDeleteYour mantle has really put me in the Christmas mood.
Your mantel looks gorgeous, Shelia! The ornament wreath is beautiful, and that was very clever to sit on top of the green wreath -- smart to have sprayed it with white paint instead of that canned fake snow which is horribly messy! I have gotten a couple of those glitter houses at Marshall's over the years and would love to add a couple more. They are so cute!
ReplyDeleteYour ornament wreath and little pick up truck definitely give your mantel the old fashioned look you wanted. It's sort of retro (50's style) like that. I really like it! We could use a fire in our fireplace today too. It's chilly and rainy outside.
ReplyDeleteHello dear lady,
ReplyDeleteYour mantel looks very festive. I love the houses and of course that adorable red pick-up truck. I love it and the orny wreath is gorgeous!
Hugs, Cindy
Wow your mantel looks fabulous! Love the wreath and how you enhanced it- great idea! The little houses are so cute and I love the cherub. Stay warm! Liz
ReplyDeleteYour mantle looks beautiful! :D
ReplyDeleteShelia, I just love your little vintage red truck. So cute!
ReplyDeleteLOVE this, so bright and cheery and that red truck just tops it off!!
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful Shelia. I adore that little truck. Thanks tons for linking to Inspire Me. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteShelia, your mantel looks gorgeous! What a statement that beautiful ornament wreath makes, and the little tree-carrying truck is so cute! Great glitter houses too. Your mantel is glowing as much as the fire in the fireplace. laurie
ReplyDeleteI LOVE THAT TRUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If I didn;'t know about Mr. Precious's CAMERAS I would be sneaking in to grab it:):) Your mantle looks beautiful!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty Shelia! Me too, love your vintage truck, such a sweet vintage touch...
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for sharing at AMAZE ME MONDAY!!!!
Blessings,
Cindy
