I Really Do Listen

Hello, Dear Ones!
I really do read of all your comments to me and I really do listen
and take your advice from time to time.
Not too long ago I showed you my little sun porch and told you I was a little saddened because I had taken out my Rooster lamp.
Well, one of your darling ones told me you thought my Rooster lamp would look good sitting on the Finn. So I tried it but the lampshade was just too big! I sobbed a little. Then I put my big girls panties on and swapped out the lamp on the six legged table with my Rooster lamp.
It worked! My Rooster lamp is back!
I'm so glad I'm not so hard headed that I don't listen to you guys! :)
He is so very happy to be back on his sun porch.
Happiness abounds out here!
Joyness! Gladness! Elatedness! Thankfulness! Jumping Up and Downness!
Just look at Mr. Rooster's face of contentment.
He was meant to be here and he thanks you!
I even gave Mr. Rooster lamp a little bit of bling to dangle in the sunlight.

Uh oh!
I found a new little bird figurine
and she thinks she's going to give Mr. Rooster lamp a run for his money.
Or at least a hop to the bird seed! :)

Anytime you think I need some improvement...bring it on!
I can take it! :)
After all, I'm wearing my big girl panties and they're really big! :)

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~

You Make My Dreams Come True

What I want you've got
And it might be hard to handle
Like the flame that burns the candle
The candle feeds the flame, yeah, yeah
What I've got's full stock
Of thoughts and dreams that scatter
Then you pull them all together
And how I can't explain
Oh, yeah
Well, well you
(Ooh-ho, hoo-ooh, ooh-oo)
You make my dreams come true
(You-hoo, you, you-hoo, hoo, you, hoo)
Well, well, well you
(You-hoo, hoo-hoo-ooh)
Oh, yeah
You make my dreams come true
(You make my dreams)
Come true
(You-hoo, you, you-hoo, hoo, you, hoo)

On a night when bad dreams become a screamer
When they're messin' with the dreamer
I can laugh it in the face
Twist and shout my way out
And wrap yourself around me
'Cos I ain't the way you found me
And I'll never be the same
Oh, yeah
Well, 'cos you
(Ooh-ho, hoo-ooh, ooh-oo)
You make my dreams come true
(You-hoo, you, you-hoo, hoo, you, hoo)
Well, well, well you
(You-hoo, hoo-hoo-ooh)
You make my dreams come true
(You make my dreams)
Come true
(You-hoo, you, you-hoo, hoo, you, hoo)

Listen to this

I'm down on my daydream
Oh, that sleepwalk should be over by now
I know
'Bout you
Yeah, yeah
You make my dreams come true
(You-hoo, you, you-hoo, hoo, you, hoo)
Oh, yeah
I've waited, waited for you, girl
(You-hoo, hoo-hoo-ooh)
Oh, yeah
You make my dreams come true
(You make my dreams)
Come true
(You-hoo, you, you-hoo, hoo, you, hoo)
You and me, you and me...

I'm Milking It!

Hello, Dear Ones.
I've taken a break from sewing...making Tildas and sewing cuties for my grandbaby.
My most gorgeous peepers are all bloodshot and I'm pooped! :)

So...I am milking it today.
I have a small collection of milk glass and have put some of the pieces in my little cabinets on each side of the TV.
So let me show you.

This cabinet is to the left of the TV.
Below these shelves is a drop down door you can use as a desk and then below that, two more doors to poke things into and believe me, I poke all I can in there.
Here's the one on the other side.
Below these two shelves is another shelf that holds our cable box.
Then an area with two doors to poke more stuff into.
Believe me. I can poke a lot of stuff in there! :)

Just letting you look at my milk glass with a few other little things poked in.
Nothing like a little milk glass and a few deep scratched on the shelves to put a song in my heart.
You're not surprised are you? :)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~

No Milk Today

No milk today, my love has gone away
The bottle stands for lorn, a symbol of the dawn
No milk today, it seems a common sight
But people passing by don't know the reason why

How could they know just what this message means
The end of my hopes, the end of all my dreams
How could they know the palace there had been
Behind the door where my love reigned as queen

No milk today, it wasn't always so
The company was gay, we'd turn night into day

But all that's left is a place dark and lonely
A terraced house in a mean street back of town
Becomes a shrine when I think of you only
Just two up two down

No milk today, it wasn't always so
The company was gay, we'd turn night into day
As music played the faster did we dance
We felt it both at once, the start of our romance

No milk today, it wasn't always so
The company was gay, we'd turn night into day

But all that's left is a place dark and lonely
A terraced house in a mean street back of town
Oh all that's left is a place dark and lonely
A terraced house in a mean street back of town
Oh all that's left is a place dark and lonely
A terraced house in a mean street back of town

My June Cleaverish Tilda

Hello, Dear Ones.
Well, I just can't help myself...I had to make another Tilda doll.
This is my June Cleaverish Tilda.
I grew up watching 'Leave It To Beaver'
and the idea of a June Cleaver Tilda popped into my tiny brain.
Oh, I just adore her!
I think she turned out beautifully.
I'm still patting myself on the back. :)

 Remember June?
Pearls on and looking so chic.
My Tilda has on a pearl necklace and pearl earrings and her makeup is applied to perfection!
I just loved making her hair. I gave her a bun with a scarf tied around it that matches her dress.
 Isn't her doo sweet?
The bodice of her dress has a band across the top and she has 3/4 length sleeves.
I made her a little apron trimmed in lace and added a pocket for her to keep her hanky in.
Here's the back of her dress and you can see how her apron strings are tied into a bow.
I've added a little ruffle at the hem of her dress.
She's kicked her shoes off for a little rest because she is about to get busy.
Doesn't she look so stylish and the perfect little housekeeper?
Well, here she sits in the kitchen after she's baked a cake for us.

She looks right at home in the kitchen with her little apron on.
She entered this into the local fair and won a blue ribbon for the recipe.
She will not share it with me though! :)
She's been on her feet for quite some time so she is wearing very comfortable, practical but chic shoes. She's cares about how she looks all the time.
Hope you've enjoyed seeing my little June Cleaversish Tilda.

Well...I know I showed you my first Tilda but I really didn't style her very well for her pictures.
So...here is Miss Curly Head again.
She told me she needed a little purse so I grabbed my hook and thread and crocheted her up one in about 30 minutes. I'm so talented like that, you know. :)
Here's a close up and I added a teeny little button on it to blend in with her dress.

Well, I've just got to quit Tildaing and get back to sewing for Carter and Sweet Pea.
Lord, help me! ;)
Shelia ;)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~

Rag Doll

Ooh, ooh
Ah, Rag doll ooh, ooh
Rag doll, ooh

(Hand me down)
When she was just a kid her clothes were hand-me-downs
(Hand me down)
They always laughed at her when she came into town

Called her Rag Doll
Little Rag Doll
Such a pretty face
Should be dressed in lace

Ooh, ooh
Ah, Rag doll ooh, ooh
Rag doll, ooh

(Shag rag doll)
I'd change her sad rags into glad rags if I could
(If I could)
My folks won't let me cause they say that she's no good

She's a rag doll
Such a rag doll
Though I love her so
I can't let her know

Ooh ooh
Ah, Rag doll
I love you just they way you are
Oh, Rag Doll, ooh
Oh, Rag Doll, ooh

Just One Look

Hello, Dear Ones!
I wanted you to know how much I appreciate you visiting my blog and commenting on my posts. I've not been around Blogland for a few days and if you haven't heard from me, there's a reason.  I really do my best to comment back but I started looking for things on Pinterest to make for my little granddaughter, Carter, and shoot! I got sidetracked! She loves Lalaloopsy and I was looking at dolls and thought I would find a pattern and make one for her.

And then it happened...
I saw a Tilda doll!
Tall doll, with a tiny little head, long legs and long arms and a big behind! :)
I fell completely in love!
I think 'Tilda' is actually a brand ~ fabrics, dolls and stuffies.
So if you are on Pinterest you may have seen what I've been pinning!
Gazillions of Tilda dolls!
I found a few patterns and saved them, copied them and decided to make a Tilda doll for myself.
I found out there are kits you can order with everything in them you need to make a doll and her outfit, but heck! I thought, I can do this all by my tiny self. Hope I'm not breaking any laws!
I found some clothes patterns but they were all different sizes.
So I just winged the clothes.
I grabbed fabrics, threads, stuffing, turned on the sewing machine and plugged up the iron and went to town making me a Tilda doll.
I think she turned out adorable!
Pat, pat myself on the back.
But I had such FUN. FUN. FUN!
Look at her hair! That is cording ~ curly cording that I cut up in little strips and sewed them down.
Have I ever told you how talented I am?
You know I'm teasing, sort of! :)
Ain't she purdy?
So I've been busy Tildaing. I did make a little stuffie for Carter and will show you later!
I get so sidetracked sometimes!
Do you ever do that? :)
Is someone as old as I am supposed to have this much fun? :)

Just One Look

Just one look
I felt so I, I, I'm in love
With you
I found out
How good it feels
To have your love
Say you will
Will be mine
Forever and always
Just one look and I knew
That you were my only one

I thought I was dreaming
But I was wrong, yeah yeah yeah
Oh, but I'm gonna keep on scheming
Til I can make you
Make you my own

Can't you see
That I really care
Without you
I'm nothin'
Just one look
And I knew
I'll get you some day

Just one look, that's all it took
Just one look

Walk A Mile In My Shoes

Hello, Dear Ones.
Many of you know about 3 months ago my dear little Mother had to go into a nursing home.
She's doing pretty well, but at age 90 her little mind is confused a lot.
We packed up her things from her retirement home apartment and put them into storage.
Some of the sentimental things I bought to my house.
Some little things I found became the centerpoint of my little vignette
at the opposite end of my sun porch.
Please ignore the cord. I need to poke it through the slats of the shutters.
First I have this roses made from book pages wreath hanging on the shutter screen I made years ago.
Then one of my favorite little vases with the bunnies and hydrangeas.
Faux of course.
You know what I say - I love my fauxs and my fauxs love me! :)
A little memory picked up years and years ago in London.
 Must have light!
Here's what I found in my little Mother's things.
A pair of my little baby shoes. I do believe I must have used these to walk in as they are really worn.
I started walking when I was 9 months old. I'm so talented like that, you know! ;)
I have to admit, I shed a few tears when I saw these knowing my Mother loved these little shoes because she saved them.
So here's my little nostalgic vignette.
Thinking I walked a lot in these little shoes and got into things little babies get into, I'm sure I walked a mile in them and probably a whole lot more.

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song~

Walk A Mile In My Shoes
If I could be you, if you could be me
For just one hour, if we could find a way
To get inside each other's mind
If you could see you through my eyes
Instead your own ego I believe you'd be
I believe you'd be surprised to see
That you've been blind

Walk a mile in my shoes
just walk a mile in my shoes
Before you abuse, criticize and accuse
Then walk a mile in my shoes

Now if we spend the day
Throwin' stones at one another
'Cause I don't think, 'cause I don't think
Or wear my hair the same way you do
Well, I may be common people
But I'm your brother
And when you strike out
You're tryin' to hurt me
It's hurtin' you, Lord HAVE mercy

Walk a mile in my shoes
just walk a mile in my shoes
Before you abuse, criticize and accuse
Then walk a mile in my shoes

Now there are people on reservations
And out in the ghetto
And brother there, but, for the grace of God
Go you and I,
If I only had wings of a little angel
Don't you know, I'd fly
To the top of a mountain
And then I'd cry, cry, cry

Walk a mile in my shoes
just walk a mile in my shoes
Before you abuse, criticize and accuse
Then walk a mile in my shoes
~ sung by Joe South
