Filling Up The Hutch

Hello, Dear Ones!

Since I've been playing so long in my Pyrex and Fire King bowls
I decided to poke them all in my little breakfast room hutch.

I have lots of the clear glass ones but they aren't much to look at so I put in mostly the colored ones.
 Okie dokie pokie!
My pink Gooseberry sits proudly on an old tea cloth embroidered by my grandmother.
She even crocheted around the edges.
Then on the other side is my aqua Butterprint and a pretty blue Pyrex bowl.
You've seen most of these pieces. The two on the left are my Meadow Green Fire King.
Sitting next to them are my two Jadeite bowls which are Fire King also.
Those bowls make me very happy and I'm on the lookout for one more at a reasonable price.
Here are two little baby sized bowls.
The bottom one is Spring Blossom Green Pyrex ~ I do believe I like green.
The tiny bit of sunshine is a yellow Pyrex Cinderella bowl.

I just had to poke in this darling vintage West Bend Penguin Hot and Cold server.

Then...I have this 4 bowl set of Colonial Mist Pyrex.
I know, I know they're clear glass but they do have a delicate pattern.
I poked in some grapes so you could see the design.
I use these all the time.

This most darling bowl gets used every day ~ it's my popcorn bowl. :)
This pattern is called Kitchen Aid by Fire King.
Don't you just love it?

Oh, these three have my heart also and I do use these every day too.
These are also Pyrex and I think the pattern is Checks and Cherries although I'm not really sure.
I bought these in 1987 when my son was working at Mervyns.

Are you about to fall asleep? :)
Well, I'm topping off the top of my hutch with these two big bowls.
The blue one is Snowflake Blue and is Pyrex.
The brown one is called Woodland Brown and is also Pyrex.
The little tea towel is made from some olden vintage curtains.
Well, I just have to poke in a few Roosters to call this complete.
Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~ this song doesn't fit my post today but I just love it! ;)

Mockingbird

Hush little baby, don't say a word
Pappa's gonna buy you a mockingbird

If that mockingbird don't sing
Pappa's gonna buy you a diamond ring

If that diamond ring turns brass
Pappa's gonna buy you a lookin' glass

If that lookin' glass gets broke
Pappa's gonna buy you billy goat

If that billy goat don't pull
Pappa's gonna buy you a cart and bull

If that cart and bull turns over
Pappa's gonna buy you a doggie named Rover

If that dog named Rover don't bark
Pappa's gonna buy you a horse and cart

If that horse and cart fall down
You'll still be the sweetest little baby in town
~ sung by Peter, Paul and Mary

  34. Shelia,I so love your beautiful pyrex. I saw a lovely piece today and never had enough cash on me,as we were out walking but did have enough to buy 3 more blue willow dinner plates I have been looking for. How on earth do you keep your pyrex so clean. I soak mine in Nappy San but still can't get some of the brown marks off.

  37. Hi Shelia,

I love everything on your darling breakfast room hutch!! The embroidered tea cloth and towel made from vintage curtains are wonderful. All your pyrex is so pretty, and you have a great variety. The Kitchen Aid Fire King popcorn bowl really caught my eye. What a neat pattern! I also love your little pink and blue glass hen dishes. I have a pink glass rabbit dish made in the same style. My MIL has the Butterprint Pyrex bowls, and she inherited those from her mother.

I was wondering, since your pyrex has patterns on it, do you put it in the dishwasher? Thanks for sharing, Shelia. Visiting from Seasonal Sundays; I hope you're having a wonderful day!

    Hugs,

    Denise
