Sentimental Journey

Hello, Dear Ones!
I have a little six legged table of my Mothers to show you today.
It's placed on the sun porch and it wasn't very sunny outside to cooperate with my snapping.
It was hard to get a good snap of it with the cloudiness outside.

This little table was the first piece of furniture my Mother and Daddy bought when they got married.
So, yes, Dear Ones ~ it's a sentimental piece.
 Isn't this a sweet lamp?
Mr. Precious gave this to my Mother one year for Christmas.
You can turn the globe around and the flowers are purple on the other side.
I was always a little jealous he didn't give this to me! :)
Well, I got over it and didn't realize it would be sitting in my home today.
I tossed a sweet little white table cloth on top and started poking down things.
Books, milk glass and little whatnots.
You do know what whatnots are, don't you? :)
These little whatnots belonged to my grandmother.

On the other side, I poked down a few birds.
I've been on a sentimental journey lately and I know it's because I've been busying myself with Mother's things and all of the memories have come flooding into my tiny heart.

Memories are just so precious, Dear Ones!

I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~

Sentimental Journey

Gonna take a sentimental journey
Gonna set my heart at ease
Gonna make a sentimental journey
To renew old memories

Got my bag, got my reservation
Spend each dime I could afford
Like a child in wild anticipation
Long to hear that 'All Aboard'

Seven, that's the time we leave at seven
I'll be waitin' for heaven
Countin' every mile of railroad track
That takes me back

Never thought my heart could be so yearny
Why did I decide to roam
Gotta take that sentimental journey
Sentimental journey me home
~ sung by Doris Day

  16. I would say that you are being a fine custodian of your mother's treasures. I know she must be tremendously grateful that if she can't have them at hand, they are with you, where they'll be well cared for and where she can visit!

  17. I so can relate to your sentiment going thru your Mother's treasures. I love that you are presenting all these beauties within your home to enjoy ... I did the same with Mother's lovelies ... The warmth & love that you share of each piece is beautiful, from the heart. I can vision you lovingly touch each piece. Hope Mother is doing better every day, my friend.
