Meadow Green Fire King

Hello, Dear Ones!
I just had to tell you I'm so honored that my post about
my pink Gooseberry Pyres was featured at
She has a new linky party up each Thursday
and the day before on Wednesday, she shows her features.
I know she would appreciate you popping in and joining her party today.
Go visit Victoria and tell her I sent you!

Now...
I hope you're not getting tired of seeing my stash of vintage dishes.
I found this on Pinterest and just laughed till I almost fell out of my chair.

LOL
Don't you just love that?

Well, I not only like vintage Pyrex but I like vintage Fire King too.
I've had this Meadow Green Fire King baking dish for sometime and gave only $1.50 for it!
Cha Ching!
Don't you love that?

Pretty and bakes stuff up like a charm!
Then...
I just happened into a thrift shop and saw this big bowl that matched my baking dish!
No Cha Ching because I paid $8 for it.
But I think it's worth it.
Gorgeous and it is in pristine condition!

So I poked my new Meadow Green Fire King bowl full of veggies and Mommy Henny Pooh showed up with a couple of babies.
Oh, yeah, she's a looker and she really takes care of her babies.
This little one is a little shy.
Mrs. Henny Pooh has just informed me that her little family is vegan
and they will eat all of the veggies.
She left me the cherry! :)

Do you love these olden Fire King and Pyrex pieces?
Do you use them or just look at them?
I use mine almost every day.
Just one word of warning if you use yours
DON'T EVER PUT PYREX OR FIRE KING IN THE DISHWASHER!!
It will ruin the surface, take off the shine and make it look like it's coated in chalk dust.

I share this with you because I love you! :)
Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~

Love Is All Around

I feel it in my fingers
I feel it in my toes
Love is all around me
And so the feeling grows

It is written on the wind
Thats everywhere I go
So if you really love me
Come on and let it show

You know I love you
I always will
My mind's maid up
By the way that I feel

There's no beginning
There be no end
Cause on my love
You can depend

I see your face before me
As I lay on my bed
I kind a get to thinking
Of all the things we said

You gave your promise to me
And I gave mine to you
I need someone beside me
In everything I do

You know I love you
I always will
My mind's maid up
By the way that I feel

There's no beginning
There be no end
Cause on my love
You can depend

It is written on the wind
Thats everywhere I go
So if you really love me
Come on and let it show
Come on and let it show
Come on and let it show
Come on and let it show
Come on and let it show
Come on and let it show
Come on and let it show
Come on and let it show

  1. I don't have Fire King or Pyrex (though I LOVE seeing yours and may now be on the hunt). And if I find them, I will use them. Life is too short not to use things.

  6. Ha-ha! I saw that "Hey girl" poster on facebook!
I know a lot of my younger girl friends really like him. :)

I love to see your dishes! I use mine AND display them.
I'm always scared when I use them though because I'm kind of clumsy!

  8. I love Pyrex so much I could sit and look at it all day, but I do not use it because I am now a "collector" - ha! Your Fireking is great, I still think $8 is good for something you collect!

  10. I never saw that Fire King pattern before -- like it! And would I ever get tired of looking at your dishes? NEVER, dearest one!
I realized last year that the Pyrex bowls I bought in 1975 when I moved out of my parents' house into my first apartment are now vintage, lol. How funny! I guess that means I am even MORE vintage!
(Love that chicken. I need her.)

  16. Your pieces are fantastic! I'm kind of sorry that I don't own any vintage Pyrex or Fire King. And if Ryan Gosling says it's ok, then that's fine with me. :D

  18. These pieces are quite pretty Shelia. I have one Pyrex Butterfly Gold bowl left of my set and wish I'd kept the whole set now. I also had a set of four green Pyrex (I forget the pattern) bowls with the handles. All wedding gifts. I have one Pyrex Wheat casserole that was my mothers from the 60's and use it all the time. Thanks for the tip re: the dishwasher! Have a great weekend coming up. Pam

Vintage finds are so much fun, thank you for sharing your finds, AND thanks for your high fives and posts at The POST OFFICE.
