More Olden Stuff

Hello, Dear Ones!
I'm just having the best time with my olden things.
Hope you're not tired of seeing them.

I just love setting up little olden vignettes in the kitchen.
A few months back I purchased this most darling little Rooster pitcher from Beverly at How Sweet The Sound. She has a Blog Shop party each Monday. It's for bloggers who have a few things they want to sell and they can link them to her party! I saw that pitcher and had to have it. It belonged to Beverly's mother. I love it, Beverly.
Look at these most darling oil and vinegar bottles. I fell in love with them too. They're just perfect!
If there's a Rooster on something - I'm a goner! ;)
This is my newest olden purchase. I had seen this at Beverly's party and thought - I need that.
Then while poodleing around town I found this one for $2! Bingo!
I can tell you the Rooster and little cow get along very nicely.
Precious as Pie.
And a cock-a-doodle-doo!
Look at this olden worn butter dish I found!
It was truly love at first sight!

This must have been a very loved and used butter dish.
Look at all of the cracklings. Is that the word?
Anyway, love love!
I poked in an olden cookbook of mine!
The first publishing was in 1948 but mine was published in 1970.
Vintage all the way, baby! :)
Just a bunch of pretties!

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~

Honey Honey

Honey honey, how you thrill me, ah-hah, honey honey
Honey honey, nearly kill me, ah-hah, honey honey
I'd heard about you before
I wanted to know some more
And now I know what they mean, you're a love machine
Oh, you make me dizzy

Honey honey, let me feel it, ah-hah, honey honey
Honey honey, don't conceal it, ah-hah, honey honey
The way that you kiss goodnight
(The way that you kiss me goodnight)
The way that you hold me tight
(The way that you're holding me tight)
I feel like I wanna sing when you do your thing

I don't wanna hurt you, baby, I don't wanna see you cry
So stay on the ground, girl, you better not get too high
But I'm gonna stick to you, boy, you'll never get rid of me
There's no other place in this world where I rather would be

Honey honey, touch me, baby, ah-hah, honey honey
Honey honey, hold me, baby, ah-hah, honey honey
You look like a movie star
(You look like a movie star)
But I know just who you are
(I know just who you are)
And, honey, to say the least, you're a dog-gone beast

So stay on the ground, girl, you better not get too high
There's no other place in this world where I rather would be

Honey honey, how you thrill me, ah-hah, honey honey
Honey honey, nearly kill me, ah-hah, honey honey
I heard about you before
I wanted to know some more
And now I know what they mean, you're a love machine

Vintage Aqua Butterprint Pyrex

Hello, Dear Ones!
Here I go showing you more of my olden Pyrex.
Hope you like it.

I do believe this is my favorite pattern, for now anyway.
This pattern is called Butterprint.
Some even call it Amish Butterprint and can come in many colors.
The bottom is a Cinderella bowl and the other two are - well - just bowls.
I just think the design is so darling!
Sweet little couple and the wheat bundles.
At first glance when my most gorgeous peepers saw the wheat bundles
I thought they looked like hot air balloons! :)
Then...if it's got a Rooster on it you know I'm hooked!
I found this pretty blue Pyrex Cinderella bowl and fell in love with it to.
Not quite the same color but do I care?
No, no Nannette! I don't give a hoot! ;)
I just love playing in the dishes!

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song~

Can't Get It Out of My Head - nothing to do with my post, just love me some ELO

Midnight on the water.
I saw the oceans daughter.
Walking on a waves chicane,
Staring as she called my name.

And I can't get it out of my head,
No, I can't get it out of my head.
Now my old world is gone for dead
Cos I can't get it out of my head.

Breakdown on the shoreline,
Cant move, it's an ebbtide.
Morning don't get here till night,
Searching for her silver light.

And I can't get it out of my head,
No, I can't get it out of my head.
Now my old world is gone for dead
Cos I can't get it out of my head, no no.

Bank job in the city.
Robin hood and william tell and ivanhoe and lancelot, they don't envy me.
Sitting till the sun goes down,
In dreams the world keep going round and round.

And I can't get it out of my head,
No, I can't get it out of my head.
Now my old world is gone for dead
Cos I can't get it out of my head, no no.

No, I can't get it out of my head,
No, I can't get it out of my head.
Now my old world is gone for dead
Cos I can't get it out of my head, no no no no

I've Got News!

Hello, Dear Ones!
Yes, I have some great news!
We're going to head up to upstate New York to see our little grand daughter, Carter!
Can I hear a Woo Hoo?
An Amen?
We haven't seen her in the flesh since Christmas so we're beside ourselves with excitement.

 She's an artist now at three years old.
Yes, she is.
She is showing you Mickey Mouse that she drew!
I love it.
 They have a big Lab named Finnley and Carter calls him her big brotherl
She told her mommy she had painted him on the box.
Well, Dear Ones, let me tell you - that's a dead ringer for my little black mini Schnauzer, Chloe Dawn. Those of you who've seen Chloe will know how much this looks like her! ;)
So I'll miss you all so much but you know I'll be in grand baby heaven.
Of course I'm ready to see our daughter as she is pregnant with little Sweet Pea and our son-in-law.

***********************************

Okay, one more piece of news.
Mr. Precious retired 3 years ago from a career of 43 years.
Then he got his Realtors license. He just can't sit still.
He bought us a present...
 A teen weeny little RV!
Ain't she purdy?
 This all happened in just a couple of days.
He found it, took me to see it and then we bought it.

 He's as thrilled as peaches and I'm so proud he got this for us.
We're gonna have some fun.
This is a class B ( that means teeny ) Winnebago Era Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Diesel chassis.
I don't understand all of that but I did drive it around the block and it was cool!
So let me show you around.

Oh, this is so little but so cute. The little kitchen area is teeny. See the little fridge? Then on the other side is the little gas cooktop and then the tiny little round sink. Both have a little cover that lifts up.
Yep, the sink is dirty. We won't really bring it home until we get back. We did drive it home to make sure it would fit in our driveway and it did!

 Here is Mr. Precious checking out the convection oven (I'll have to learn how to use it) with his sun glasses hanging out of his mouth! ;)
I think I'll have to have a little stool to get up in there.

 Okay, this is a hoot and I'm not really sure about this, but it is what it is!
Those doors open up accordion style and wallah!!
The bathroom. It's called a 'wet' bath because there isn't a separate shower. You just grab the shower head handle and go to town. So the toilet gets wet too. Hmmm...

 There are 2 TVs in here. One in the bedroom and this one - in the kitchen on the countertop!
Can you believe it? Well, I won't be able to spread out much on the counter will I?
 There isn't a bedroom but a queen sized bed.The triangle opening had another piece that goes there.

 I know lots of folks have the great big RVs or fifth wheels and we've thought of that but this one will be just perfect for us. It can drive anywhere and not take up much space. It gets 23 miles to the gallon and I can drive it too.
But...we're not driving it to New York, not yet anyway. We're flying to see our baby.
When we get back we'll go somewhere.
We've never RVed before and I'm so excited about it. I've been all over the internet looking for tips and even on Pinterest. I just may have to add an RV board to my Pinterest.

So Dear Ones, I'll be back in a little over a week. I'm going to miss you all so much.
I've preposted a few posts so you won't forget me!
I will have lots of snaps of Carter to show you when I get back!

Love to all...kiss kiss

You are all a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~

I'll Be Seeing You

I'll be seeing you;
In all the old, familiar places;
That this heart of mine embraces;
All day through.

In that small cafe;
The park across the way;
The children's carousel;
The chestnut tree;
The wishing well.

I'll be seeing you;
In every lovely, summers day;
And everything that's bright and gay;
I'll always think of you that way;
I'll find you in the morning sun;
And when the night is new;
I'll be looking at the moon;
But I'll be seeing you.

Meadow Green Fire King

Hello, Dear Ones!
I just had to tell you I'm so honored that my post about
my pink Gooseberry Pyres was featured at
She has a new linky party up each Thursday
and the day before on Wednesday, she shows her features.
I know she would appreciate you popping in and joining her party today.
Go visit Victoria and tell her I sent you!

Now...
I hope you're not getting tired of seeing my stash of vintage dishes.
I found this on Pinterest and just laughed till I almost fell out of my chair.

LOL
Don't you just love that?

Well, I not only like vintage Pyrex but I like vintage Fire King too.
I've had this Meadow Green Fire King baking dish for sometime and gave only $1.50 for it!
Cha Ching!
Don't you love that?

Pretty and bakes stuff up like a charm!
Then...
 I just happened into a thrift shop and saw this big bowl that matched my baking dish!
No Cha Ching because I paid $8 for it.
But I think it's worth it.
 Gorgeous and it is in pristine condition!

 So I poked my new Meadow Green Fire King bowl full of veggies and Mommy Henny Pooh showed up with a couple of babies.
 Oh, yeah, she's a looker and she really takes care of her babies.
 This little one is a little shy.
 Mrs. Henny Pooh has just informed me that her little family is vegan
and they will eat all of the veggies.
She left me the cherry! :)

Do you love these olden Fire King and Pyrex pieces?
Do you use them or just look at them?
I use mine almost every day.
Just one word of warning if you use yours
DON'T EVER PUT PYREX OR FIRE KING IN THE DISHWASHER!!
It will ruin the surface, take off the shine and make it look like it's coated in chalk dust.

I share this with you because I love you! :)
Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~

Love Is All Around

I feel it in my fingers
I feel it in my toes
Love is all around me
And so the feeling grows

It is written on the wind
Thats everywhere I go
So if you really love me
Come on and let it show

You know I love you
I always will
My mind's maid up
By the way that I feel

There's no beginning
There be no end
Cause on my love
You can depend

I see your face before me
As I lay on my bed
I kind a get to thinking
Of all the things we said

You gave your promise to me
And I gave mine to you
I need someone beside me
In everything I do

You know I love you
I always will
My mind's maid up
By the way that I feel

There's no beginning
There be no end
Cause on my love
You can depend

It is written on the wind
Thats everywhere I go
So if you really love me
Come on and let it show
Come on and let it show
Come on and let it show
Come on and let it show
Come on and let it show
Come on and let it show
Come on and let it show
Come on and let it show

Gathering

Hello, Dear Ones.
I've been gathering my "supplies" for this olden vignette.

 It all started with this olden aluminum colander.
 This belonged to my grandmother.
 You've probably seen my scale but the measuring cup...
 it belonged to my Mother.
 This little biscuit cutter belonged to my Mother
and she used to make the most melt in your mouth biscuits you've ever tasted.
She cut many a little round morsel using this little magical kitchen piece.
 Next I have my Mother's egg beater.
 Now the little sifter.
I don't know who this belonged to as I bought it at a garage sale
but I gathered it up so fast!
 Then I gathered my Mother's little cheese grater.
She's had this since I was a little girl.
She used to let me grate cheese for her
and I can't tell you how many times I grated my tiny knuckles right along with the cheese.
Sounds pretty gross, huh? :)

Then I gathered my pins - my rolling pins.
The little green handled one belonged to my grandmother who passed away when I was three so I know it's very olden.

So I've gathered these little treasures to set up this kitchen vignette for my kitchen corner.
Loving the olden things so much.
Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~

We Gather Together

We gather together to ask the Lord’s blessing;
He chastens and hastens His will to make known.
The wicked oppressing now cease from distressing.
Sing praises to His Name; He forgets not His own.

Beside us to guide us, our God with us joining,
Ordaining, maintaining His kingdom divine;
So from the beginning the fight we were winning;
Thou, Lord, were at our side, all glory be Thine!

We all do extol Thee, Thou Leader triumphant,
And pray that Thou still our Defender will be.
Let Thy congregation escape tribulation;
Thy Name be ever praised! O Lord, make us free!
