Sail Away, Sail Away, Sail Away

Hello, Dear Ones!
I thought I would share with you about our cruise Mr. Precious and I took.
It was a trans Atlantic cruise from little ole Galveston to Barcelona, Spain.
It was the longest cruise we've taken yet ~ 15 days.
So today I thought I would share with you our ship.

We love the Royal Caribbean line and this was The Mariner of the Seas.
 Here we are so excited!
A few snaps of the interior of the lovely ship. It had a promenade right down the center of the ship filled with shops and little eateries. We saw parades and entertainment there quite often! The bottom snap on the right is my tiny hand toasting to our voyage with a wine glass filled with potato sticks! Works for me!
Here we are all dressed up for one of our formal nights.
We celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary (anniversary was in March) in one of the specialty restaurants "Chops".
I look so fat in this snap! I lean one way and everything just hangs! :)

Always have to get a bathroom snap in!
Can you tell I'm trying to grow out my tiny hair?
I don't know what I'm going to do with it when it gets a little longer but I need a change.

Oh, I just had to share with you some of the displays that were in the stairwells.
Aren't these dishes so pretty and they are chopped just in the right places!

Look at the pieces below! I love it!

I marveled at these wire kitchen creations.
 And cute cars...
 ...and elegant paper looking cars!
 Aren't these the cutest!

Lord, have mercy!
Embroidered ironing board covers!
This was cute but I was in no mood to be thinking about laundry!

I'll share more about our ports soon.

I'm joining Smiling Sally for Blue Monday
A Stroll Thru Life for Inspire Me Tuesday

Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~

Sail Away

Let me sail, let me sail,
Let the Orinoco Flow,
Let me reach, let me beach
On the shores of Tripoli.
Let me sail, let me sail,
Let me crash upon your shore,
Let me reach, let me beach
Far beyond the Yellow Sea.

Sail away, sail away, sail away.

From Bissau to Palau, in the shade of Avalon,
From Fiji to Tiree and the Isles of Ebony,
From Peru to Cebu hear the power of Babylon,
From Bali to Cali, far beneath the Coral Sea.

Turn it up, turn it up, turn it up, up, adieu. Oh. [Repeat: x3]

Sail away, sail away, sail away.

From the North to the South, Ebudæ into Khartoum,
From the deep sea of Clouds to the island of the moon,
Carry me on the waves to the lands I've never been,
Carry me on the waves to the lands I've never seen.
We can sail, we can sail with the Orinoco Flow,
We can sail, we can sail.
(Sail away, sail away, sail away)

We can steer, we can near
With Rob Dickins at the wheel,
We can sigh, say goodbye Ross and his dependencies
We can sail, we can sail
(Sail away, sail away, sail away)

We can reach, we can beach,
On the shores of Tripoli,
We can sail, we can sail
(Sail away, sail away, sail away)
From Bali to Cali, far beneath the Coral Sea,
We can sail, we can sail
(Sail away, sail away, sail away)
From Bissau to Palau, in the shade of Avalon,
We can sail, we can sail
(Sail away, sail away, sail away)
We can reach, we can beach,
Far beyond the Yellow Sea,
We can sail, we can sail
(Sail away, sail away, sail away)
From Peru to Cebu hear the power of Babylon,
We can sail, we can sail.
(Sail away, sail away, sail away)
We can sail, we can sail.
~ sung by our ship

  13. What a fun cruise! Mr. Magpie and I went on that cruise line years ago, and we loved it. Went with his parents BEFORE we were married. LOL It is a fabulous cruise line, and we had the time of our lives. This trip, though, looks awesome..

Let me wish you a very Happy 40th Anniversary! You have us beat by a few years, but isn't it wonderful to be able to claim 40 years together??? Congrats and all good wishes for many more happy years together.

  14. Hi Shelia,

This looks like a wonderful cruise. I've never been on a cruise; I'm not really comfortable with the idea of being on the ocean that long. :) Kind of silly, I know. I used to be terrified of flying, but I've flown on five trips now, so maybe I'll do the cruise thing one day, too.

The ship looks just beautiful. I really love those plate displays and the white cars, too. You look SO cute in all the pictures; if it's any consolation, I look fat in all my pics these days. It's downright depressing. :)

Have a wonderful day -- can't wait to see pictures of the rest of your trip!

Loved seeing all the sculptures from ordinary objects, so very creative. I just love a cruise, so relaxing and a good way to see places you have never been to. Congratulations on your anniversary!! 17. Oh, it looks like fun! My husband and I celebrated 45 years in March, but we did not make it far away this year - only to Jacksonville!! This post was definitely full of "eye" candy - those displays were so interesting. Thanks for sharing - didn't you just love Barcelona?? That has to be one of my favorite places.

You and Mr Precious were so obviously having a wonderful time! What a beautiful ship. Oh you mustn't ever use the "F" word..... (hahah) you are bootiful!
I'll be going with a group of friends myself next year on a 10 day cruise with P&O and I'm a little nervous (first timer)
Can't wait for your next post.
(Shelia, totally curious on my part but why did you move your vacation tab you used to have on the blog.)

  31. Hi Shelia, glad you called by and asked that question about the Vacation tab. Unless I"m going nuts,(and that's quite possible of course) :), I would have sworn that back in the early part of my just starting to follow your Blog, that you had a tab/heading up the top of your post page there along with My Home, that had a heap of your previous cruise vacations. ??? Tell me I'm not nutty, this is such a mystery!
    Hugs

Of course, the transferware displays took my breath, but those wire cooking utensils creations are amazing, and oh I love the stacked dishes in the shape of an urn. 39. Happy Anniversary Shelia!
It looks like you had a beautiful ship. We are starting to think about a future cruise or even one of the canal boat trips on one of the rivers in Europe, so I am very interested in hearing about your entire trip! Your both look so happy, too. The art is certainly unique, but I agree that laundry will not be in my thoughts during our cruise!
