Hello, Dear Ones!
I wanted to share with you what I found this weekend!
Sunshine!
Heavenly Sunshine!
Well, these little salt and peppers aren't exactly 'Heavenly Sunshine'...
but close.
They're sitting on my crocheted doily edged in Heavenly Sunshine
that I crocheted years ago.
Just look at this little darling couple.
Are they Dutch, German or Swiss?
I don't know and I don't think I care either
because I love them.
Just look at the little Mister.
And the little Misses.
Painted florals on the sides and back.
They seem to be very olden and have lots of crackling on them.
Is that the word? Well, it is now! :)
Even the little feet are cute and worn ~ they've walked many a mile in someone's kitchen
and I fear sat a little too close to a burner too.
The only markings on the bottom says 'Hand Painted".
If anyone know anything about these cute things, please let me know.
May your day be filled with Heavenly Sunshine.
Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)
I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~
Heavenly Sunshine
Walking in sunlight all of my journey;
Over the mountains, through the deep vale;
Jesus has said, “I’ll never forsake thee,”
Promise divine that never can fail.
Heavenly sunlight, heavenly sunlight,
Flooding my soul with glory divine:
Hallelujah, I am rejoicing,
Singing His praises, Jesus is mine.
Shadows around me, shadows above me,
Never conceal my Savior and Guide;
He is the Light, in Him is no darkness;
Ever I’m walking close to His side.
In the bright sunlight, ever rejoicing,
Pressing my way to mansions above;
Singing His praises gladly I’m walking,
Walking in sunlight, sunlight of love.
Over the mountains, through the deep vale;
Jesus has said, “I’ll never forsake thee,”
Promise divine that never can fail.
Heavenly sunlight, heavenly sunlight,
Flooding my soul with glory divine:
Hallelujah, I am rejoicing,
Singing His praises, Jesus is mine.
Shadows around me, shadows above me,
Never conceal my Savior and Guide;
He is the Light, in Him is no darkness;
Ever I’m walking close to His side.
In the bright sunlight, ever rejoicing,
Pressing my way to mansions above;
Singing His praises gladly I’m walking,
Walking in sunlight, sunlight of love.

Oh they are sweet and the little couple are so cute. They remind me of the Quimper couples. Great find. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteYour new S & P set is so sweet! They're a perfect accent for your little doily!
ReplyDeleteSmiles,
Carol
Those are very sweet. My guess is they are German (no wooden clogs)?
ReplyDeleteI love that old church hymnal!
Love your sweet find! Also, this is one of my favorite hymns. Have a lovely day.
ReplyDeleteSheila, those are so cute and a great addition to your kitchen.
ReplyDeleteAw Shelia they are adorable~glad they found a home with you. Oh and that sweet doily they are on...perfect!
ReplyDeletehugs,
Linda
Those are darling:)
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet and adorable couple - and I love your crocheted doily, too! ♥
ReplyDeleteLove your sweet, little darlings! And I love this old song. I grew up singing it. Often!
ReplyDelete~Adrienne~
Hi Shelia, I too love sunshine and ours is shining right now. The sunshine S&P's are darling. I think the people are so darling. I don't know anything about them but I wonder if you check Ebay with a description if you could find them. My sisters might know but they are in France right now. They rented a house for a month. I would love to be there too. Sigh!
ReplyDeleteHave a sunshine day.
Love, Jeanne
Wow! I haven't heard that song in ages! It was one of my favorites in Sunday School...always brought a smile, as your posting did today.
ReplyDeleteI imagine Sarah at Hyancith's For The Soul could be of assistance. She knows stuff. Anyho they are sweet and I love yellow.
ReplyDeleteThey are adorable and to find them both is great, too! Happy Sunday!
ReplyDeleteI love the cute S&P couple! We've been having lots of sunshine, I also love it! Have a nice week sweet Shelia.
ReplyDeleteFABBY
What a great find - they are so cute. They do remind you of sunshine. Enjoy
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful week.
Mary
Those are as sweet as sweet can be Shiela. Love them!
ReplyDeleteI don't know a thing about them, Shelia. What I do know...they are cute!
ReplyDeleteShelia - I have seen that pattern before but can't remember where. They are beautiful!! Good find.
ReplyDeleteJudy
So cute, makes you happy just to see them!
ReplyDeleteI had to come back and say that this afternoon we were with friends and had a little sing-song, and I requested that we sing "Heavenly Sunshine"...everyone smiled when we did!
ReplyDeleteThey look like Quimper, which is very expensive! I think they would be signed too, if they were. But they are adorable sitting there on your lovely doily. xo
ReplyDeleteThose little shakers are so charming!
ReplyDeleteI am going to say Swiss. I lived in Germany for 7 years ,so I know it's not from there. ( Not their style) I visited Holland and every picture of a person had clogs on them ( new and old ). In the olden days in Sweden the men wear the bloomer type pants. I could be wrong but this is my guess.
ReplyDeleteI love old salt & pepper shakers and you've found a wonderful set to display in your kitchen.
ReplyDeleteSheila... those are very sweet! Those pants could be Greek, too, but I would imagine the lettering might be, too. Hmmm.... I don't know, but they are CUTE.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a great week ahead. I'm trying to figure out who I am going to blog without a computer, but there has to be a solution.
XO,
Sheila
Oh, these are adorable little S&P....so glad you found them.
ReplyDeleteBefore you know it, Carter will be all dressed up for a prom and you'll probably bawl your tiny eyes out...they grow up waaay too fast so we have to hang onto every little thing they do.
Oh, Sheila these are adorable little salt and pepper shakers. I love, love them. They are treasures. So glad you found them. I just don't know where you find all the cute stuff you have. Have a wonderful week . Hugs, Karie
ReplyDeleteSo cute.
ReplyDeleteI would love to see some sunshine. We have had so much rain. Looks like a week of rain for us. Oh well a good excuse to stay in and read and work on some other projects.

Love these, Shelia. Great find!!!
ReplyDeleteHow cute are they!!!!...They do remind me of Quimper Ware....what a great find.!!
ReplyDeleteHello Maam Sheila,
ReplyDeleteWow. This S&P reminds of the Swedish Tradional Costumes specially on Midsuumer.
We dance around the Maypole. Midsummer in Swedish is on June 22, so this will be fun. Hope you keep an eye on my blog so I can share some photos and you will see the resemblance.
Happy to see you again and have a wonderful week ahead.

Hi Shelia *hugs*
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute Mr.& Mrs. you found. I don't know where they originally would have come from either, but as you said it doesn't matter...they are awfully cute.
I know you will treasure them and keep them safe and they will bring you smiles...
Hope you are having a wonderful Monday...
Judi
They are really cute Sheila and they do remind me of sunshine!
ReplyDeleteGreat find there, you did good!
Hugs,
Cindy
Hi Shelia,
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute set! They might be "Quimper"??? I don't know for sure. But I do know that they are adorable!
I have a few sets that I just love, too. Fabulous find!
Hugs,
Patti
It's a bit in the Quimper style, but I don't know enough about it to tell that from others. No matter -- they are a wonderful find!
ReplyDeleteThat's a great find Sheila, they are so cute. Thanks for stopping by.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute post!
ReplyDeleteLove your sweet finds.
Thanks for sharing.
Hope to see you on my blog:)
Greetings from Singapore...
Shelia, these are adorable. I don't think they are French. The hat on the man looks German or Swiss to me.
ReplyDeleteWill respond to your email asap. '-)
Glad these found a home with you. They are fun! ~ sarah
What an adorable couple! Both the S and P and the Mr. and Mrs! Don't you love it when you find something that makes your heart sing! Great find!
ReplyDeleteI don't remember for sure but I believe they are German or Czech ... we've sold sets like this many times, but I think they were Japanese made.
ReplyDeleteTTFN ~
Have a lovely holiday weekend ~
Marydon
Too cute! I can't make up my mind about what they are either but they're adorable.
ReplyDeleteCandy
Oh Shelia, I would have bought those too. They are adorable! They come close to looking like a copy of Quimper. I love them! laurie
ReplyDeleteThey are adorable Shelia and they do have old world charm - with a dose of sunshine thrown in! I love these little finds of yours!
ReplyDeletexx
Your new salt and peppers are adorable! Isn't it funny how the smallest things can make us so happy? Hugs, Cindy
ReplyDeleteSheila~ I have the sugar and flour canisters that match in my black and white kitchen. I just love them. But truth be told, when I found them about 10 years ago, I dropped the sugar canister and it has a big crack. It's never fallen apart and the crack is in the back. Poor thing! Love the salt and pepper pieces that match! Cindy @ sunsetcoasting.blogspot.com
