My 'Go To' Mantescape

Hello, Dear Ones!
Well, after taking all the bunnies and eggs off the mantel it sat nekked (Texan for naked).

After looking at it all empty and nekked for a week, I couldn't stand it any more!
Sorry, I forgot to turn off the TV and I was watching "Play Misty For Me" when Clint Eastwood was young, squintty and not chopped up! :)
I'm getting sidetracked here.

My creative juices had drained out.
Probably because I drank too much peach tea.
So...I went with my 'Go To' mantelscape.
Ta dah! This works for me when I can't think of anything else to do.
Traditional and kinda what you'd expect.
Nothing special, nothing cutesie, not over the top. Just simple and easy.

Poked my olden clock upon some books.
I did get a little creative and turn the backs of the books toward the mirror.
I liked how this looked. See, my juices are flowing again just a little bit!
Here's where I go edgy and actually placed a little nest with eggs on the books!
It's still Springtime and nests and eggs always work.
Then I grabbed a pair of my Staffies and poked one down on each side of the clock.
I know brown and white ones would look better but hey ~ I'm being edgy here!
Anyway, these are my very first Staffies! I'm attached to them!
Aren't they as cute as can be?
Now I know you've seen these urns many times and you're going to see them many times over again.
I love them! Can you love handpainted urns you ask?
You bet your paint by numbers you can! :)
When I'm lazy and almost all of my creative juices are gone ~ this is my 'Go To' mantelscape with a little edginess tossed in!
I am really a wild one! :)

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song~

Real Wild One

I'm a real wild one
Wild one
Wild one
Wild ane
Wild one -

Well
I'm just out of school like a real
Real cool

Gotta dance like a fool
Got the message
That I've gotta be a wild one
Oh yeah
I'm a wild one.
Gonna break loose
Gonna keep a movin' wild

Gonna keep a swingin'
Baby
I'm a real wild child.

Gonna meet all my friends
Gonna have myself a ball

Gonna tell my friends
Gonna tell them all

That I'm a wild one
Oh yeah
I'm a wild one.
Gonna break loose
Gonna keep a movin' wild

Gonna keep a swingin'
Baby
I'm a real wild child.

I'm a real wild one
And I like wild fun

In a world gone crazy everything seems hazy

I'm a wild one
Oh yeah
I'm a wild one.
Gonna break loose
Gonna keep a movin' wild

Gonna keep a swingin'
Baby
I'm a real wild child

  8. Love the new look. Wasn't it Lewis Grizzard who said "Naked" is when you don't have your clothes on, and "Neekid" is when you don't have your clothes on and you are up to something!

  31. Simplicity is the name of the game, Shelia. I like the topiary urns and of course, your Staffordshire doggies. :-) One pair of mine is on the shelf in the study- the other is put up for the moment. Nekkid has always been a favorite word of mine- my BFF is from west Texas! LOL Oh how I loved Clint's movie back in the day- went to see it w/the boyfriend turned husband back in college. That crazy lady was quite a stalker, wasn't she?
