Cuteness in the Kitchen

Hello, Dear Ones!

I wanted to pop in to say thank you all so much for your comments on my last post about my little Mother. I have good news, she is in a rehab facility that is connected to her retirement home. She's in good hands and I know she will be back in her apartment soon. She's already started physical therapy.
I was very concerned as the rehab is on the second floor above the nursing home. She told me she did not want to go there because people go there to die! I have prayed and worried. I know those two things do not go together...but my heart has been breaking for her. As of today, she is happy and knows this is the place she needs to be. Her roommate is a lady who lives on her floor in the retirement home.  She likes the food, she likes the therapist and she has a remote control to her TV so she can watch the Jodi Arias trial! I know...I know :)
I feel as if I've been run over by a couple of freight trains.
I'm mentally beat!
I just need to recoop my tiny self so I'm going to rest a few days.

So...here's a little post I already had ready to go and I'll be back soon.

 **********************

Thought I'd show you a little cuteness in the kitchen today!

Grabbed my pink cake stand and started poking things on it.

Don't you just love these little tiny creamers?
I do believe they are singing a duet.
Do you hear it too? :)

The darling big cup and saucer in the background are from a recent win from Linda at A La Carte.
I poked some fauxs in it and voila!

Well, that's it ~ just a little bit of cuteness in the kitchen!
Please know I love it when you visit me and leave a comment!
You're all such a big part of my life.

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song~

Hooked On A Feeling'

I can't stop this feelin', deep inside of me
Girl, you just don't realize, what you do to me
When ya hold me in your arms, so tight
You let me know, everything's all right
I, I'm hooked on a feelin'
High on believin', that you're in love with me
Lips are sweet as candy, the taste stays on my mind
Girl, you keep me thirsty for another cup of wine I got it bad for you girl,
but I don't need a cure I'll just stay addicted and hope I can endure
All the good love, when we're all alone
Keep it up, girl, yeah ya turn me on
I, I'm hooked on a feelin'
High on believin', that you're in love with me
All the good love, when we're all alone
Keep it up, girl, yeah ya turn me on
I, I'm hooked on a feelin'
I'm high on believin', that you're in love with me

  1. Shelia,
Hope your Mom gets better. My older sister is going through a rough time with her health. She's been in the hospital 5 times since February, to the ER numerous times, and has finally agreed to stay with her daughter a while til she's better. She thought she could stay alone, but my Nephew found her unresponsive Tuesday due to her sugar dropping to 40. She was again rushed to the ER. I really thought they would keep her again, but they didn't. It's so hard when a family member is not doing well. Get some rest and take care of yourself!!

    Blessings,
    Kathy

  3. Hi Shelia. I love how you are always 'poking' things into other things and they all look so beautiful. You really know how to poke. I'm just teasing you. I'm so glad your little Mother is doing better and not hating the rehab place too much. I can imagine we all might feel like that when our time comes, but hope we can remember how we wanted to care for our loved ones in the best possible fashion and know that they are doing the same for us. Of course, that's a looooooong time away..Happy Wednesday..Judy

  7. Hope your dear mama is feeling better. My sister in law is having such a hard time with her elderly parents; he 94 and she 92. In one day, they shift from well, to bad and to worst.. almost hospital situation, each or both! it's just old age, wow! You sure deserve some rest, I know it's hard, I have an older mom and sometimes I'm on Drs. everyday! So far she's fine. My prayers are going your way and your mother's way, of course.
    Big hugs,
    FABBY

  8. I am SO happy for your mother, everything has fallen into place for her and I know that is a relief for you. My mother went from the hospital to a nursing home for therapy before she came home and then passed away from cancer. She was terrified of the nursing home and it really was a bleak place to be because it was the permanent home of so many elderly people. So again, I think your prayers have been answered.

I love your cute arrangement under the cake dome...what a clever idea!

    XO,
    Jane

  9. Shelia,so pleased your dear mum is happier today. I do wish you and her the very best. I know it can be very draining looking after the welfare of a parent. You are right to rest up a while so you can be strong for her. Your little cloche looks so sweet with its little goodies tucked in. xx

  15. Shelia, I am so happy your mom is on the mend. Therapy is so important for physical and mental health. I pray she is recovered and back to herself soon. You need to rest a few days.

Your cuteness in your kitchen is fun and pretty at the same time. Good job as always. Your detail is always amazing.

Take care of yourself my sweet friend.

  18. I'm sure I just forgot to press PUBLISH. Oh my.

Shelia dear, I adore your kitchen cuteness, and I have been a very very bad blogger and blog-reader, therefore I've only just caught up with the news of your dear Ma. I am so relieved for you that she is improving and in good hands, and of course you must rest up for a few days. Forget blogland for a little bit. We will all still be here for you. I can only imagine how exhausted you must be from sheer worry, and, love.
    Hugs

  20. I'm glad to hear that your mom is happy and content to live in a new place and get well. It is really difficult to deal with a parent who is going through changes and upheavals. We went through a lot with my mom and my husband's dad, but we do it because we love them and we wouldn't have it any other way, would we. They need us and because they are our parent we are glad to do what we can. Sometimes they just need our presence and our constant love.
Your kitchen cuteness is really cute! I adore the cake stand and the flowers look real in the photos.
Have a restful day, my friend.
    Hugs, Cindy

  24. Oh, my sweet friend! I have no idea how I missed the post about your mother. I'm sooooo sorry she's been through this ordeal and you with her. Oh, She-lady. I will certainly pray that all goes well.

Again, my friend, I'm sorry I didn't see that post. How did I miss it???

I love you and am thinking of you. Love your little singing bunnies, too.

  27. Rest up Shelia. I remember those day with my parents. Bone tired I was too and my sister did a whole lot. I am glad she is in a good rehab center.

  28. Oh Shelia, it is very stressful looking after our aging parents. I went through that for many years with my mother and mother-in-law. I'm glad your dear mother is feeling more at home in the rehab and hopefully will be back in her familiar area soon. You take care of yourself and get your rest while you can. I like your little display in the kitchen. The pink pedestal plate is so pretty and the singing critters adorable. Sending hugs to you. Pamela

  36. Shelia - So glad your Mom has adjusted to where she is temporarily. That will make it so much easier on you. I know that a situation like that can just drain you mentally and physically. So take care of yourself and rest up.
