Centerpiece

Hello, Dear Ones!

You may remember the tureens that I poked flowers and Bunny Foo Foos in for Easter.
If you missed them you can go HERE and HERE to see them.

If you know me, I'm gonna milk a good thing for as long as I can and that is just what I did here.

I took out the Foos Foos. Then I took out all of the flowers from one of my tureens and commenced to poke them into this tureen till it was about to explode.
I just love this stuff.
It's always the right time for a Bunny Foo Foo so here's one...
 And here's the other one!

So there you have my recycled centerpiece!
Hope you like it.

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~

Do It Again

Its automatic when I
Talk with old friends
The conversation turns to
Girls we knew when their
Hair was soft and long and the
Beach was the place to go

Suntanned bodies and
Waves of sunshine the
California girls and a
Beautiful coastline
Warmed up weather
Lets get together and
Do it again

With a girl the lonely sea looks good
Makes your night times warm and out of sight

Been so long
(hey now hey now hey now hey now hey now)
(hey now hey now hey now hey now hey now)

Well Ive been thinking bout
All the places we've surfed and danced and
All the faces we've missed so lets get
Back together and do it again

My 'Go To' Mantescape

Hello, Dear Ones!
Well, after taking all the bunnies and eggs off the mantel it sat nekked (Texan for naked).

After looking at it all empty and nekked for a week, I couldn't stand it any more!
Sorry, I forgot to turn off the TV and I was watching "Play Misty For Me" when Clint Eastwood was young, squintty and not chopped up! :)
I'm getting sidetracked here.

My creative juices had drained out.
Probably because I drank too much peach tea.
So...I went with my 'Go To' mantelscape.
Ta dah! This works for me when I can't think of anything else to do.
Traditional and kinda what you'd expect.
Nothing special, nothing cutesie, not over the top. Just simple and easy.

Poked my olden clock upon some books.
I did get a little creative and turn the backs of the books toward the mirror.
I liked how this looked. See, my juices are flowing again just a little bit!
Here's where I go edgy and actually placed a little nest with eggs on the books!
It's still Springtime and nests and eggs always work.
Then I grabbed a pair of my Staffies and poked one down on each side of the clock.
I know brown and white ones would look better but hey ~ I'm being edgy here!
Anyway, these are my very first Staffies! I'm attached to them!
Aren't they as cute as can be?
Now I know you've seen these urns many times and you're going to see them many times over again.
I love them! Can you love handpainted urns you ask?
You bet your paint by numbers you can! :)
When I'm lazy and almost all of my creative juices are gone ~ this is my 'Go To' mantelscape with a little edginess tossed in!
I am really a wild one! :)

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song~

Real Wild One

I'm a real wild one
Wild one
Wild one
Wild ane
Wild one -

Well
I'm just out of school like a real
Real cool

Gotta dance like a fool
Got the message
That I've gotta be a wild one
Oh yeah
I'm a wild one.
Gonna break loose
Gonna keep a movin' wild

Gonna keep a swingin'
Baby
I'm a real wild child.

Gonna meet all my friends
Gonna have myself a ball

Gonna tell my friends
Gonna tell them all

That I'm a wild one
Oh yeah
I'm a wild one.
Gonna break loose
Gonna keep a movin' wild

Gonna keep a swingin'
Baby
I'm a real wild child.

I'm a real wild one
And I like wild fun

In a world gone crazy everything seems hazy

I'm a wild one
Oh yeah
I'm a wild one.
Gonna break loose
Gonna keep a movin' wild

Gonna keep a swingin'
Baby
I'm a real wild child

New Yard Birds!

Hello, Dear Ones!
I'm so excited today to bring you into the den to see my new Yard Birds!

You know Yard Birds aren't just for the kitchen, don't you?

I found this precious pair and just had to bring them into the den so I could see them all the time.

Aren't they the most darling little pair?
 Dashing Mr. Rooster...
 and most gorgeous Mrs. Hen!
When I saw them, I just flipped!
Madly in love, I was and had to have this little pair.
So I immediately started grabbing things to make a vignette.

I poked down this sweet platter that I fiddled with a few years back.
This is a Fashion Plate with fabric mod podged on the back.
If you'd like to see how I did it you can click HERE.
These greens are found sitting here on this table a lot so today is no exception.

I'm as happy as a dead pig in the sunshine with my new Yard Birds.

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)

 Barn Dance

One night as I was sleeping
Something awakened me
There was a light on in my barn so I went down to see
I peeked through the big ole crack in the door
And what do you think I saw
The animals were havin' a barn dance right in the horse's stall
And there was the chicken doin' the chicken reel
 And the muskrat rambled on
The old cow did the cow-cow boogie and the rooster crowed a song
A mouse came out of his hidin' place
And he danced on one leg
The old hen got so tickled that she almost laid an egg
They were all dressed up for the barn dance
It made me want to laugh
The rabbit wore a big bow tie and the pig was a looking in the looking glass
And the goose danced with the gander till an old dog buddied in
The horse was horsin' around a lot till the mare got mad at him
And there was the chicken doin' the chicken reel
And the muskrat rambled on
The old cow did the cow-cow boogie and the rooster crowed a song
A mouse came out of his hidin' place
And he danced on one leg
The old hen got so tickled that she almost laid an egg
And there was the chicken doin' the chicken reel
And the muskrat rambled on
he old cow did the cow-cow boogie and the rooster crowed a song
A mouse came out of his hidin' place
And he danced on one leg

Edra

My heart is breaking and my prayers have gone out to the folks in Boston and West.
God, cover us with Your protection.
********************************

Hello, Dear Ones!
for featuring my home tour! Your comments just blessed my heart!
If you missed the tour of my home and would like to see it, just click HERE.
If you don't know Cindy, please pop in to see her as her home is gorgeous and she's as pretty as a picture and just as sweet!

Okie dokie!
Some of you mentioned you liked seeing Edra so I thought I'd give you a closer look at her.
What? You don't name your furniture? :)
This is just one of my many talents...naming my furniture!
You know I'm teasing but I really do give certain pieces names.

This is Ms. Edra who lives at the top of my stairs.
She is affectionately named after my mother whose middle name is 'Edra'.
I think it's a pretty name.

This is how Edra looked in all of her glory after I had purchased her from Craigslist.
My little Mother went with me and she talked the lady who was selling her to come down on the price quite a bit! So naturally I had to honor my little Mother with a namesake! :)

After I had painted her red, she stood in my entry for about a year!
I had fun changing her dress out for each season.
See her cute little shelves on each side?
This was also before we changed the flooring to granite tiles.

She's a different looking little piece don't you think?
Kind of a cross between a secretary and a hutch.
And just look at her shapely legs.
♪ She's got legs, she knows how to use them... ♪ ♪

The first Christmas I had Edra, she had to be moved from the entry so we could set up the Christmas tree there where it always goes.
Well, she's been at the top of the stairs ever since.

I usually keep dishes in her and right now she's sporting these olden ones.
A closer peep at my olden dishes, Homer Laughlin China ~ Brittany Majestic pattern.
The bowl in front is something I found at Marshalls years ago.

Just in case you were wondering, this little white box is one of Mr. Precious' play toys.
He has security cameras up around our home and he had the audacity to set one on top of Edra!
Well, Edra doesn't seem to mind. She thinks she's a hotty and the camera just adds to her mystique.

I certainly hope you've enjoyed viewing Edra today.
She has really enjoyed all of the attention! :)

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~

 Legs

She's got legs, she knows how to use them.
She never begs, she knows how to choose them.
She's holdin' leg wonderin' how to feel them.
Would you get behind them if you could only find them?
She's my baby, she's my baby,
Yeah, it's alright.

Our House

I'll light the fire
You put the flowers in the vase
That you bought today

Staring at the fire
For hours and hours
While I listen to you
Play your love songs
All night long for me
Only for me

Come to me now
And rest your head for just five minutes
Everything is good
Such a cozy room
The windows are illuminated
By the sunshine through them
Fiery gems for you
Only for you

Our house is a very, very fine house
With two cats in the yard
Life used to be so hard
Now everything is easy
'Cause of you
And our la,la,la, la,la, la, la, la, la, la, la.....

Our house is a very, very fine house
With two cats in the yard
Life used to be so hard
Now everything is easy
'Cause of you

I'll light the fire
And you place the flowers in the jar
That you bought today

A Little Table Time

Hello, Dear Ones!
The sun is shining outside and the temps are in the 70s and I felt like playing on the table.
The table in my little breakfast room.

Do you like it?
You may remember seeing this a month or so ago.
I stacked some cake stands and poked some fauxs all over them.
Well, I'm not one to let a good thing go to waste so...
I recycled my cake stand vignette.
I'm so talented like this you know! :)

First of all with Spring coming on I found this little mommy and her babies hiding in a cabinet and they were just chirping to get out.
Well, here they sit!

I just couldn't have the artichokes anymore so I poked in a teeny little birdie guarding her little bitty eggs in the nest. She's being so attentive, isn't she?

The olden saying...stop and smell the roses.
I love that, don't you?
Well, you're not going to get much of a smell from these roses because they're not real.
But we can pretend can't we? :)

 I really like this look.

Actually, I love this look!
Uh oh! Actually, I think I left an artichoke on the bottom cake stand.
Oh, well. I love this look any way.

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~

I Think I love You

Ba, ba, ba, ba.
Ba, ba, ba, ba, ba.
Ba, ba, ba, ba, ba.
I'm sleeping
And right in the middle of a good dream
Like all at once I wake up
From something that keeps knockin' at my brain.
Before I go insane I hold my pillow to my head
And spring up in my bed
Screaming out the words I dread:
"I think I love you!"
This morning
I woke up with this feeling
I didn't know how to deal with
And so I just decided to myself
I'd hide it to myself and never talk about it
And didn't I go and shout it
When you walked into my room.
"I think I love you!"
I think I love you.
So what am I so afraid of?
I'm afraid that I'm not sure of
A love there is no cure for.
I think I love you.
Isn't that what life is made of?
Though it worries me to say
I've never felt this way.
I don't know what I'm up against.
I don't know what it's all about.
I got so much to think about.
Hey, I think I love you.
So what am I so afraid of?
I'm afraid that I'm not sure of
A love there is no cure for.
I think I love you.
Isn't that what life is made of?
Though it worries me to say
I've never felt this way.
Believe me,
You really don't have to worry.
I only want to make you happy
And if you say,
"Hey, go away," I will, but I think better still
I'd better stay around and love you.
Do you think I have a case?
Let me ask you to your face:
Do you think you love me?
I think I love you.
Oh, I think I love you.
Oh, I think I love you.
Oh, I think I love you.
Oh, I think I love you.
Oh, I think I love you.
Oh, I think I love you.
Oh, I think I love you.
Oh, I think I love you.

Cuteness in the Kitchen

Hello, Dear Ones!

I wanted to pop in to say thank you all so much for your comments on my last post about my little Mother. I have good news, she is in a rehab facility that is connected to her retirement home. She's in good hands and I know she will be back in her apartment soon. She's already started physical therapy.
I was very concerned as the rehab is on the second floor above the nursing home. She told me she did not want to go there because people go there to die! I have prayed and worried. I know those two things do not go together...but my heart has been breaking for her. As of today, she is happy and knows this is the place she needs to be. Her roommate is a lady who lives on her floor in the retirement home.  She likes the food, she likes the therapist and she has a remote control to her TV so she can watch the Jodi Arias trial! I know...I know :)
I feel as if I've been run over by a couple of freight trains.
I'm mentally beat!
I just need to recoop my tiny self so I'm going to rest a few days.

So...here's a little post I already had ready to go and I'll be back soon.

 **********************

Thought I'd show you a little cuteness in the kitchen today!

Grabbed my pink cake stand and started poking things on it.

Don't you just love these little tiny creamers?
I do believe they are singing a duet.
Do you hear it too? :)

The darling big cup and saucer in the background are from a recent win from Linda at A La Carte.
I poked some fauxs in it and voila!

Well, that's it ~ just a little bit of cuteness in the kitchen!
Please know I love it when you visit me and leave a comment!
You're all such a big part of my life.

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song~

Hooked On A Feeling'

I can't stop this feelin', deep inside of me
Girl, you just don't realize, what you do to me
When ya hold me in your arms, so tight
You let me know, everything's all right
I, I'm hooked on a feelin'
High on believin', that you're in love with me
Lips are sweet as candy, the taste stays on my mind
Girl, you keep me thirsty for another cup of wine I got it bad for you girl,
but I don't need a cure I'll just stay addicted and hope I can endure
All the good love, when we're all alone
Keep it up, girl, yeah ya turn me on
I, I'm hooked on a feelin'
High on believin', that you're in love with me
All the good love, when we're all alone
Keep it up, girl, yeah ya turn me on
I, I'm hooked on a feelin'
I'm high on believin', that you're in love with me
