Easter Greetings

Hello, Dear Ones!
Come on into my entry and see my little vignette I've put on the table.

When you walk through my front door, this is what greets you.

I just love birds and this is a lovely piece my mother gave me years ago and it's very old.
Isn't the frame lovely? It's been faux painted to look like the wood grain.
Now you know these are lady birds because they are having quite the conversation!
Aren't they just so pretty?

Then on to more oldeness ~ my Gone With the Wind lamp and it's a big one!
I just love this style of lamps and the painting on it is so nicely done.

Now on with the Easterness.
I grabbed a little olden yellow platter and poked some Bunny Foo Foos and Easter grass down!
I love this stuff!

Just look at these darling little Foo Foos!
Guess what? I found them at the Dollar Store y'all!
Yep, $3 for 3 little precious hoppity hoppers!
You can see the one on the left is protecting her Easter egg!

I just love this little trio with their flowers.
Next I've used my glass basket, I think it's olden too, and poked in a little white flower garland.
I just circled it around and poked a few additional fauxs in the basket and it looked pretty good!
You all know how talented I am! :)
Oh, also from the Dollar Store - those eggs on sticks!
Just the right touch of Easter eggness for my display.
Well, I hope you've enjoyed seeing another Eastery display.
Don't you just love this time of the year?

I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~

Morning Has Broken

Morning has broken, like the first morning.
Blackbird has spoken, like the first bird.
Praise for the singing, praise for the morning,
Praise for them springing fresh from the Word.

Sweet the rain's new fall, sunlight from heaven.
Like the first dewfall, on the first grass.
Praise for the sweetnes of the wet garden,
Sprung in completeness where His feet pass.

Mine is the sunlight, mine is the morning.
Born of the one light Eden saw play.
Praise with elation, praise every morning;
God's recreation of the new day.

Morning has broken, like the first morning.
Blackbird has spoken, like the first bird.
Praise for the singing, praise for the morning,
Praise for them springing fresh from the Word.
~ sung by Cat Stevens

  19. I felt a special connection with your post today Shelia (aside from always loving your decorating and creativity) - first I saw the staircase pictured and you know how I just LOVE that staircase and balustrade. I noted it was the backdrop for your photos with your lovely blog friend as well.
The old picture you mother gave you (in the lovely oval frame) is most intriguing because the birds are (found in Indonesia as well,) but are Australia's Sulpur-crested cockatoos, we all grew up with them as pets and they continue to abound in large flocks in most areas of Australia. They are regarded as pests by many farmer because they destroy crops and are also by nature quite destructive (mishieveous) but regardless we love them. They are an amazing bird. I would love to know how your Mother came by the picture.
And lastly, the song you left us with was the song and music played on mine and (passed away) beloveds wedding 30 years ago now.
    Have a lovely weekend! :)

  23. Shelia,
Another of my favorites from your Note Songs collection, dear friend!
Your print on the wall is exquisite!!!
If you hadn't told me it was a faux painting technique,
I'd had thought sure it was tiger oak!
    Your lamp is elegant, indeed!
Love the bunny trio...from Dollar Tree??? Would have never guessed!!!
    Have a marvelous weekend!!!
    Fondly,
    Pat

  24. The picture of the birds that you mom gave you is a treasure, and I think the glass feather basket is old. I have one...somewhere, that belonged to my great aunt.
Maybe if I can find it, I could use it for Easter? :)
    Have a great weekend,
