Bits & Pieces

Hello, Dear Ones!
I hope you all had a wonderful Easter!
This post is going to be a little bit of this and a little bit of that!

After church, we came home, got comfy and I finished our Easter lunch.
Here's Mr. Precious and Chloe Dawn.
She looks so disgusted because she's been begging for ham
and I hadn't given her any yet.

You may have seen my Easter table already.
Well, here's Mother and me getting ready to put more food on the table.
Oh, I'm trying to let my little tiny boy hair grow out some. I hope I can stand it! :)

Okay, do you know Michael Lee at Rattlebridge Farm?
She hosts Foodie Friday and is Bloglands most wonderful author.
She showed a cheater's cake last week and I thought, I'm gonna try it for Easter.
You can visit her and see the cake HERE.
Just so you will knos, hers is much prettier.
Dear Ones, it was easy, pretty and tasty! :)
Thanks Michael Lee!

My friend Linda from A La Carte came for a visit and brought me gifts and chocolate!
You can read about her visit HERE if you'd like.

Then I purchased a little darling vintage Rooster pitcher from Beverly at How Sweet The Sound.
You all know she hosts Pink Saturday but did you know she has started hosting a weekly linky party called Blog Shop for those of us who want to sell off some of our loot.
If you'd like to find out about it, you can go HERE
This was her mother's little picther and I just fell in love with it!

This is my little grand daughter, Carter, and she has just celebrated her 3rd birthday.
It's hard being a very loooooooooooong distant grandmother.
But I do the best I can with pictures and Skype.
Our daughter loved My Little Ponies when she was little. I had saved them for her and we took them to Carter this past fall. Carter fell in love with all the little ponies and when her mommy asked her what kind of birthday cake she wanted she said,
"Rainbow Dash!"
Well, my daughter made her one.
No mold. She just baked two sheet cakes, put them together and cut out the shape.
Isn't it so cute?
Look at all of the different colored icings she  made.
I was so proud of her and Carter loved it!

One more cute shot of Carter being a princess and as you can see ~
 she can fly! :)
Look at those little tootsies!

Like I said y'all, this post is just bits and pieces of little tidbits of my life!
I just love bits and bobs, don't you?
Oh, and of course chocolate! :)

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia :)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~

The 59th Street Bridge Song

Slow down, you move too fast.
You got to make the morning last.
Just kicking down the cobble stones.
Looking for fun and feelin' groovy.
Hello lamppost,
What cha knowing?
I've come to watch your flowers growing.
Ain't cha got no rhymes for me?
Doot-in' doo-doo,
Feelin' groovy.

Got no deeds to do,
No promises to keep.
I'm dappled and drowsy and ready to sleep.
Let the morning time drop all its petals on me.
Life, I love you,
All is groovy.

Dear ones, I want to wish you and your family a most blessed Easter.

John 11:25-26 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?”

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia :)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~

My Chains Are Gone

Amazing grace
How sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me
I once was lost, but now I'm found
Was blind, but now I see

'Twas grace that taught my heart to fear
And grace my fears relieved
How precious did that grace appear
The hour I first believed

My chains are gone
I've been set free
My God, my Savior has ransomed me
And like a flood His mercy rains
Unending love, Amazing grace

The Lord has promised good to me
His word my hope secures
He will my shield and portion be
As long as life endures

My chains are gone
I've been set free
My God, my Savior has ransomed me
And like a flood His mercy rains
Unending love, Amazing grace

The earth shall soon dissolve like snow
The sun forbear to shine
But God, Who called me here below
Will be forever mine
Will be forever mine
You are forever mine

My Easter Table

Hello, Dear Ones!
Well, I've been working on my Easter table
and thought I would share it with you today.

Look what I hung on my chandy!
Darling little Easter eggs.
I should have looked for some of those hanging thingys and then the eggs would have shown up a little better because they would have been lower than the crystals.
Oh well...maybe next year.

For your viewing enjoyment...sweetie pinkie egg!
I love this stuff.
I've used a tablecloth I picked up on one of our cruises.
I think I found this in the Bahamas.
It's very sheer so I layered it over a white tablecloth.

Now not to waste a good thing, I've brought down one of my Easter decorated tureens from the silverware box and I'm using it for my centerpiece.
Just gotta love a faux egg in a ladel!
You all know how talented I am! ;)
There's that little Bunny Foo Foo peeping out from among the fauxs!
So cute!
 An artsy shot! :)
I'm tellin' ya!
Okie dokie. I've used my Butterfly Meadows dishes. I've seen so many of these around blogland here lately. They just scream from the mountain tops, "SPRING!"
Well, maybe from the tabletops! :)
I had the perfect little Easter egg napkins!
Just waiting for a hot roll and a dab of buttah! :)
I have a couple of medium sized veggie bowls and they'll be filled with something yummy soon.
Salt and peppers.
This is a little Butterfly Meadows Bunny Foo Foo.
Maybe she's a sugar bowl or candy dish.
Shoot! I don't care, I love her.
 Speaking of candy...

 Pastel M & Ms.
Some pretty pink goblets I've had for years.
If you pop in very often, you've seen this precious little dish!
Bunny Foo Foos just make me smile!
That's my Easter table.
It will only be Mother, Mr. Precious and me.
But I've set an extra place for Jesus since Easter is all about Him.
Have a very blessed Easter!

I Will Rise
There's a peace I've come to know
Though my heart and flesh may fail
There's an anchor for my soul
I can say "It is well"

Jesus has overcome
And the grave is overwhelmed
The victory is won
He is risen from the dead

And I will rise when He calls my name
No more sorrow, no more pain
I will rise on eagles' wings
Before my God fall on my knees
And rise
I will rise

There's a day that's drawing near
When this darkness breaks to light
And the shadows disappear
And my faith shall be my eyes

Jesus has overcome
And the grave is overwhelmed
The victory is won
He is risen from the dead

And I will rise when He calls my name
No more sorrow, no more pain
I will rise on eagles' wings
Before my God fall on my knees
And rise
I will rise

And I hear the voice of many angels sing,
"Worthy is the Lamb"
And I hear the cry of every longing heart,
"Worthy is the Lamb"
And I hear the voice of many angels sing,
"Worthy is the Lamb"
And I hear the cry of every longing heart,
"Worthy is the Lamb"

And I will rise when He calls my name
No more sorrow, no more pain
I will rise on eagles' wings
Before my God fall on my knees
And rise
I will rise

More Easterness

Hello, Dear Ones!!!
I'm so enjoying seeing all of your wonderful Easter and Spring decor.

With every season you see this table in the den poked full of whatever I can put on it.
Easterness right now!

Just have to have a few eggs
and what better nest than an old Fostoria bowl filled with Easter grass!
Oh, and it's poked a top of a couple of books!

Now where there are Easter eggs you know there's an Easter Bunny Foo Foo near by.
This little guy ain't lettin' go of his egg.
He just loves this egg and each year that I bring him out,
he's got this same egg in his tiny little Foo Foo paws!

Now this little couple is just inseparable!
They love to poodle around in their wheelbarrow.
I think they forgot someone needs to push them ~ they don't care.

I found this wonderful old vintagey bunny art online!
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~

Drive My Car

Asked a girl what she wanted to be
She said baby, "Can't you see
I wanna be famous, a star on the screen
But you can do something in between"

Baby you can drive my car
Yes I'm gonna be a star
Baby you can drive my car
And maybe I love you

I told a girl that my prospects were good
And she said baby, "It's understood
Working for peanuts is all very fine
But I can show you a better time"

Baby you can drive my car
Yes I'm gonna be a star
Baby you can drive my car
And maybe I love you
Beep beep'm beep beep yeah

Baby you can drive my car
Yes I'm gonna be a star
Baby you can drive my car
And maybe I love you

I told that girl I can start right away
And she said, "Listen baby I got something to say
I got no car and it's breaking my heart
But I've found a driver and that's a start"

Baby you can drive my car
Yes I'm gonna be a star
Baby you can drive my car
And maybe I love you
Beep beep'm beep beep yeah
Beep beep'm beep beep yeah
Beep beep'm beep beep yeah
Beep beep'm beep beep yea~

An Easter Welcome

Hello, Dear Ones!
Happy Palm Sunday!
I thought I would share with you today what I've put on my front doors.
Spring is here and I had to have some springyness poked up on these doors!

 See?
I bought these little blue metal baskets about three years ago and had intended to use them, but I stowed them away, kinda forgot about them...you know how that goes.

So I pulled out my tub of Spring fauxs and went to town arranging in my little blue metal baskets.
This is what I came up with.
Do you like it?
It's a pretty little sight from the street!

I do love making my own wreaths and what not for my doors.
I'd really like to make just one but since I have two front doors I have to make two of everything.
I'm not complaining though because the glass doors let in so much needed light.
My house tends to be on the darkside.
Doo do doo do (Twilight Zone music inserted here)

I tried, but I just didn't get mirror images.
Well, I think that just makes life a little bit more interesting, don't you think? :)

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~ I love this song...I know, I'm old :)

Love Is All Around

I feel it in my fingers
I feel it in my toes
Love is all around me
And so the feeling grows

It is written on the wind
Thats everywhere I go
So if you really love me
Come on and let it show

You know I love you
I always will
My mind's maid up
By the way that I feel

There's no beginning
There be no end
Cause on my love
You can depend

I see your face before me
As I lay on my bed
I kind a get to thinking
Of all the things we said

You gave your promise to me
And I gave mine to you
I need someone beside me
In everything I do

You know I love you
I always will
My mind's maid up
By the way that I feel

There's no beginning
There be no end
Cause on my love
You can depend

It is written on the wind
Thats everywhere I go
So if you really love me
Come on and let it show

Easter Greetings

Hello, Dear Ones!
Come on into my entry and see my little vignette I've put on the table.

When you walk through my front door, this is what greets you.

I just love birds and this is a lovely piece my mother gave me years ago and it's very old.
Isn't the frame lovely? It's been faux painted to look like the wood grain.
Now you know these are lady birds because they are having quite the conversation!
Aren't they just so pretty?

Then on to more oldeness ~ my Gone With the Wind lamp and it's a big one!
I just love this style of lamps and the painting on it is so nicely done.

Now on with the Easterness.
I grabbed a little olden yellow platter and poked some Bunny Foo Foos and Easter grass down!
I love this stuff!

Just look at these darling little Foo Foos!
Guess what? I found them at the Dollar Store y'all!
Yep, $3 for 3 little precious hoppity hoppers!
You can see the one on the left is protecting her Easter egg!

I just love this little trio with their flowers.
Next I've used my glass basket, I think it's olden too, and poked in a little white flower garland.
I just circled it around and poked a few additional fauxs in the basket and it looked pretty good!
You all know how talented I am! :)
Oh, also from the Dollar Store - those eggs on sticks!
Just the right touch of Easter eggness for my display.
Well, I hope you've enjoyed seeing another Eastery display.
Don't you just love this time of the year?

I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~

Morning Has Broken

Morning has broken, like the first morning.
Blackbird has spoken, like the first bird.
Praise for the singing, praise for the morning,
Praise for them springing fresh from the Word.

Sweet the rain's new fall, sunlight from heaven.
Like the first dewfall, on the first grass.
Praise for the sweetnes of the wet garden,
Sprung in completeness where His feet pass.

Mine is the sunlight, mine is the morning.
Born of the one light Eden saw play.
Praise with elation, praise every morning;
God's recreation of the new day.

Morning has broken, like the first morning.
Blackbird has spoken, like the first bird.
Praise for the singing, praise for the morning,
Praise for them springing fresh from the Word.
~ sung by Cat Stevens
