Hello, Dear Ones!
I thought I'd show you what I've been up to ~ playing!
I put together a little centerpiece for the dining room table
and this is what I've come up with.
I grabbed three cake stands, stacked 'em and started poking fauxs all over the place.
I know you'll love my lace runner. I got all 'pleated' with it. :)
I think it turned out rather nicely on this side.
Even pretty cute on this side!
Bottom layer...
Middle layer...
Top layer.
After I finished, I stood back and thought,
"This looks rather weddingly with a few artichokes poked here and there."
Does anyone know of a wedding planner who may want to hire me
with all of my talentedness? ")

Going To The Chapel
Going to the chapel and we're gonna to get married.
Going to the chapel and we're gonna to get married.
Gee, I really love you and we're gonna to get married.
Going to the chapel of love.
Spring is here,
the sky is blue.
Whoa! the birds all sing as if they knew.
Today's the day, we'll say, "I do"
and we'll never be lonely anymore.
Because we're going to the chapel and we're gonna get married.
Going to the chapel and we're gonna get married.
Gee, I really love you and we're gonna get married.
Going to the chapel of love.
Bells will ring,
the sun will shine.
Whoa, I'll be his and he'll be mine.
We'll love until the end of time
and we'll never be lonely anymore.
Because we're going to the chapel and we're gonna get married.
Going to the chapel and we're gonna get married.
Gee, I really love you and we're gonna get married.
Going to the chapel of love.
(yeah yeah yeah yeah)
Going to the chapel of love.
(yeah yeah yeah yeah)
Going to the chapel of love...

Good Afternoon Sheila.
ReplyDeleteWow your centrepiece looks amazing
really pretty and elegant.
You did a great job.
Have a good week
x Fiona
I may need your services in a few years, Shelia! But not too soon, I hope! This vignette is absolutely beautiful, and it's just so "you." Thanks for sharing the beauty!
ReplyDeleteHugs ~ Mary
Just love it when cake stands are used to decorate and stacked. Looks pretty and with a glimmer of warmer days and the blooms of flowers in the air!
ReplyDeleteI love the way you displayed the lace runner too. Love the tiered cake stands and faux flora.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty arrangement. My favorite is the lace runner!
ReplyDeleteLove it, it looks wonderful. I love the addition of the artichokes, so pretty. The runner is fabulous pleated too. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteHi Shelia! Your table is so pretty! I really like how you incorporated the roses with artichokes. Great job! :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful centerpiece and like like how you ruffled up the runner. The artichokes work nicely against the whites. Perfect look!
ReplyDeleteI thought the same thing - it looks sort of like a Wedding Cake! Very pretty!!
ReplyDeleteGood Afternoon Shelia, What a fabulous idea placing cake stands on top of each other....the result is beautiful, do you know, I think it would be a beautiful centre piece for a wedding table aswell.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely day.
Best Wishes
Daphne
Great idea! I'm going to have to copy this! Beautiful!
ReplyDeletewell, already was the MoB and wedding planning for my daughter....and I don't think you or I am going to live long enough to see my son get married. So, I think you can plan for someone else! Unless of course you would have better luck finding the PERFECT woman for my son....cuz I quit that job LONGGGG ago!!
ReplyDeleteIt looks really nice, Shelia. Those are good looking faux roses-they look real. Love the idea of tiers for the cake stands. I cannot find my cake stand anywhere- I know I loaned it to one of the kids but they all swear they don't have it. (someone is lying but I don't have enough confidence to call them out because I can't remember for sure!;>)
ReplyDeleteThat song is going to be running through my head for the rest of the day now--you naughty girl!!!! xo Diana
I already commented on FaceBook to you but I thought I say here too...so pretty Sheila. Your so talented!!!
ReplyDeleteHope the weather is nice there....it's snowing like crazy here! Have a nice Sunday afternoon....Hugs, Debra Sue
Shelia,
ReplyDeleteWedding or not...this is quite an elegant centerpiece!!!
Love the hue of the roses, love the contrast of the artichokes,
and love how you pleated your lace runner!!!
Thanks for sharing your creative talents with us, dear friend!!!
Fondly,
Pat
You may be teasing but I think it looks great and very 'wedding' also! I like the stacked cake plates!
ReplyDeletehugs, Linda
I love centerpieces and think they are important during the meal and between meals, even when the kids are little. This is cute! My kids say my motto is "Don't touch the centerpiece!" But our family meals are the "centerpiece" of family life, so I do say, "Don't touch the Centerpiece!"
ReplyDeleteVisiting through Busy Monday.
Gorgeous My friend !
ReplyDeleteOh my! Your centerpiece takes my breath away. I would hire you in a minute! Elizabeth
ReplyDeleteSo pretty, love the roses and the three tiers looks wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI like your idea of stacking the cake plates to make a centerpiece. You could add in seasonal touches for different holidays. '-)
ReplyDeleteShelia, this is so pretty! I love how you stacked the cake stands and added artichokes to the white flowers. I have such a thing now for white flowers. This is truly beautiful!
ReplyDeleteHow lovely Shelia. I might have a go at one of these. Love the pleats too.x
ReplyDeleteThis is very, very pretty. White is so fresh and easy on the eyes. I have a wood dining table right now, too - and I really love how it looks with white. You inspired me!
ReplyDeleteYour centerpiece looks great, but I am particularly impressed with the way you pleated the runner. This is genius! I have a number of runners that are a bit too long, and this would be a great remedy. Thanks for the great idea!
ReplyDeleteYour centerpiece is very lovely Shelia, and I'm sure you could easily turn into a wedding planner with all your talent. You have such a sweet personality you could even handle the worst bridezilla. Me on the other hand? Well let's just say I don't think I'm as sweet as you are.
ReplyDeleteI really like your centerpiece. Just call it shabby or french or whatever since it's white. Whatever the style is, I really like it. Mom recently came home with a tiered set of cake stands, so one day I may have to make my own centerpiece like yours. Thanks for sharing your idea with us!
What a beautiful centerpiece! Soft and romantic. Great photos too!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Lisa.
DeleteYou know I love tiers. I would hire you in a minute.
ReplyDeleteLovely centerpiece, Shelia! I love it!...Christine
ReplyDeleteSo pretty Sheila! As always, you come up with such lovely ideas. Jane
ReplyDeletePretty, I love cake pedestals and when stacked even better.
ReplyDeleteHi Shelia, Thank you for your thoughtful comment about me feeling better on PS. I was really under the weather that day but today I am back to feeling fine. Also, for your kind words about our Ashley today. She is such a sweetie and we are so proud of her.
ReplyDeleteI love your tiered flowers with the folded lace runner. A very pretty look and puts me in mind of spring. It is pretty cold here right now and snow again tonight. However, the sun is shining today so all is bright and cheerful. Life is good.
Wishing you happy days my sweet friend.
Love, Jeanne
Beautiful centerpiece Sheila....so very "sweet"....the artichokes added jus the right touch!
ReplyDeleteLovely and I know with all of the white, it must brighten up your house on cloudy days! Beautiful job - thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI love those artichokes! I bought some dried ones years ago and finally had to throw them out...they had HAD it! LOL! Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteHi Shelia *hugs*
ReplyDeleteThis is a lovely centrepiece. The flowers are beautiful, you've done a lovely job. I think they are "faux" but they certainly look real to me...*s*.
Hope you've been well and enjoyed the weekend too.
Wonder when you'll be fixin' up for Easter?...soon I'm sure.
have a good evening.
Judi

Hi Shelia!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fab centerpiece but then everything you create is fabulous! Love the unexpected artichokes. great combo with the white roses.
ANd the song... how perfect! I danced to that song at a sockhop in the school gym many moons ago - I guess I'm aging myself here.

ReplyDeleteYour place is looking so nice in the livingroom with your cloches. Those are nice moss balls.
I'm hearing about snow in your area. I hope everything is ok and you don't have problems with lots of snow. Its very windy here and we are expecting snow tonight and into tomorrow....
Keep well and warm...
