Happy New Year!!

Hello, Dear Ones
and
Happy New Year!
Did you think I had fallen off the face of the earth?
Well, guess what?
I'm on top of the world with my little family
and especially with my little Carter here.

I just wanted to share one little story with you:
We went to church Sunday and Carter said she would go into the nursery.
When we got there she realized it wasn't her nursery nor her teacher
so she decided she wouldn't go in.
Well, the service is pretty casual and laid back and it would be fine for Carter to stay with us.
She loved the music and swayed back and forth to the beat.
She sat in my lap during the sermon like an angel.
During the closing prayer she hopped down and crawled up into her mother's lap.
The minister said how we were celebrating Jesus' birth...
then Carter said in her sweet little baby girl voice,
"I broke baby Jesus!"
Again..."I broke baby Jesus!"
I had to hold my mouth shut to keep from laughing outloud! :)

We got home and sure enough we looked at the Nativity on the coffee table
and the little baby Jesus' hand was broken off!

I just laughed and laughed knowing this little story would go down in our history -
Carter confessing her sins during the closing prayer.

I'll be enjoying this special time with my little grand daughter a little longer and then I'll be back.
Please know how much you all mean to me!
I'm sorry I've not commented back to you (so unlike me)
but I have read everything you've written and will be returning your comments in about a week when my little Carter goes home.
I have to soak up all the time I can with her.

My love to you all and pray God's blessings on you in this new year!

Why has blogger decided to underline some of my words?
Is this happening to you?
Oh, well! :)

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia :)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~

 You Are My King

I'm forgiven because you were forsaken
I'm accepted, You were condemned
I'm alive and well
Your spirit is within me
Because you died and rose again

I'm forgiven because you were forsaken
I'm accepted, you were condemned
I'm alive and well
Your spirit is within me
Because you died and rose again

Amazing love, how can it be?
That you, my king. would die for me
Amazing love, I know it's true
Its my joy to honor you
Amazing love how can it be?
That my king would die for me
Amazing love I know it's true
Its my joy to honor you
In all I do
I honor you

I'm forgiven because you were forsaken
I'm accepted, you were condemned
I'm alive and well
Your spirit is within me
Because you died and rose again

Amazing love how can it be
That you, my king would die for me
Amazing love, I know its true
It's my joy to honor you
Amazing love how can it be?
That you, my king, would die for me
Amazing love, I know its true
Its my joy to honor you
In all I do I honor you

You are my king
You are my king
Jesus, You are my king
Jesus, You are my king

Amazing love, how can it be?
That you, my king, would die for me
Amazing love, I know it's true
Its my joy to honor you
Amazing love, how can it be?
That you, my king would die for me
Amazing love I know it's true
Its my joy to honor you
In all I do I honor you
In all I do honor you

  3. Such a sweet little girl and a sweet story to remember. Cherish your time with this little one. Blogger is doing strange things with my text as I type, but no underlines....yet. It ate the links on my sidebar for my list of blogs. I'm slowing restoring it but it is taking time. ;-(

    Happy New Year! ~ Sarah

  11. Have a wonderful time with her. We had a week of babysitting our little granddaughter. The first night she was gone, my husband and I were in a little bit of a shock with the the silence that came over the house. It had been so busy and noisy playing with her for the week.

    Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy!

Just enjoy!! and don't worry about commenting and visiting, plenty of time for that during this new year.
I do have a request though and I know I've said it more than once, but gosh how alike are you and Carter. Could you possibly find a photo of yourself at a very similar age to her in a similar stance etc and show them side by side on the blog? I truly have never seen a grandmother and granddaughter so alike in looks!
Happy New Year dearest Shelia. All good wishes to you and yours.

  44. ha ha..that is such a sweet little story. You'll have to write it down so you can give it to her one day.
I have a little book on each of my grandchildren and I have been putting in it the funny little saying/things they do.
I plan to give it to them when they get married.

  47. Oh that is the sweetest thing! She is such a doll in that little dress too, and I just know that baby Jesus forgave her! At our church, our little 2 year old Sophia yelled to the young man who was bringing the sacrament water around; "hey water boy, bring it over her!" I had the same reaction as you did. ;)

  48. Out of the mouths of babes! Bless sweet, little Carter's heart - such honesty. Enjoy every minute with her. Don't worry about us - we understand - and we'll be here when Carter has gone home again. Yes, Blogger is underlining some of my words and adding links to advertisements. I inquired on the Help Forum and was told it's a problem with MY computer. Don't think so! It makes me a bit irritated and I'm glad to know it's not just me. Thought maybe I was seeing things!

  49. Hi Shelia. That's such a precious story. You'll have to remind her some day when she's old enough to understand that it's funny.

Our cousin lives on Galveston Island and she said it was in the 40s there a couple of days ago. Unusual for y'all? We had a white Christmas this year...our first year back in Texas! Loved it.

Looking forward to a new year with you.

  50. She is adorable. I know you have been loving every minute of her being there. What a sweet story about her confession.

My granddaughter spent 3 nights with us and my great-niece spent 2. They call themselves the twin cousins. The house seems so empty with them gone.

Happy new year to you and your family

  52. Good Afternoon Shelia, I love the little tree which you painted on your grand daughter's door, it reminds me of the Tree of Life. Guess what....I have a chicken milk jug, just like yours on your kitchen windowsill, I bought mine a few years ago in Spain. It's fun looking back at all the projects from last year, it makes you realise all the wonderful things you have achieved. I love Fleetwood Mac, so didn't read the words, I was singing them. I am so pleased I have found you and I have become your newest follower. Sending you best wishes from England, Daphne
