Merry Christmas and a Home Tour

Hello, Dear Ones!

My Christmasing is done ~ my decorating, my shopping, most of my do ahead cooking and now I'm just waiting for my little family to arrive.

I've so enjoyed touring your beautiful homes and feeling so welcome there.
And now, I'd like to let you take a little tour of my Christmased up home.

It's a beautiful day here on our little island, about 68'.
But I'm pretending it's cooler! ;)

Come on in and there's Chloe Dawn to greet you at the door.
She'd give you a cookie but I think she ate them all! ;)

My tree is always in the entry. You may have seen this snap already but it looks a little different now.
Santa Claus called and asked if he could come early since he was so busy this year
and of course I said yes!
There's packages under there now.

On the left side of the entry is the living room!
Really simple Christmasing in here this year.
Chloe Dawn popped into my snap!
That girl. :)

Now we'll go through the entry again and on the right is the dining room.
If you visit me often, you've seen some of these snaps already.

Here's my simple centerpiece on the dining room table.

Now we'll head to the den...
I lit the fire so it would feel a little more like Christmas.
This is a fake fire. Well, it's real fire but the log are not real.
But it's so life like and even has little embers that glow!

I've mentioned before, my decorating this year is for my little granddaughter who's coming for Christmas!

I've not shown you my crystal bar yet all Christmased up.

This is a wreath I've made twice.
First wreath was just the balls on the wreath that I made years and years ago.
Then last year I saw a wreath on Pinterest and decided to do my take on it.
So I took a green wreath and sprayed it with some white paint and tied on the ball wreath,
bow and bird and then I had another wreath!
You know how talented I am! :)
Teasing, I'm always teasing.

Found that pretty vase at Costco for $13 and poked it full of some old Christmas balls that used to hang on my tree when I was a little girl.
I wanted you to see my Murano glass couple too.

Now we're in the breakfast room.

 Centerpiece on the table.

I was out shopping in Marshalls the other day and this tiny little cloche was just calling my name so I had to have her!

Bunny Foo Foo is waiting for Carter to come.
She's keeping this little highchair warm just for her.
Carter may think she's too big to sit in it but we'll give it a try.

You've seen my baker's rack all Christmased up.

Now let's step over into my tiny little kitchen...
Lots of pretty sunshine coming through the window today.

I asked Carter what she wanted for Christmas and she screamed, "Candy Canes!"
Well, she's not quite three years old so I guess candy canes are really important to her.
No problem!
Mr. Precious grabbed my little feather tree and I bought some candy canes to poke on it.
When she gets here she'll see the candy cane tree waiting for her.
I can't wait to see her little face.
Well, you know me, gotta have a few Roos around.

The sun is setting and I've turned on my outside lights for you!
I have so enjoyed blogging with you sweet friends
and have so enjoyed getting to meet so many new friends this year.
May you all have a blessed Christmas and I'll see you probably next year as I will be enjoying my family.
 Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~

Silent Night

Silent night! holy night!
All is calm all is bright
Round yon virgin mother and child
Holy infant so tender and mild
Sleep in heavenly peace!
Sleep in heavenly peace

Silent night! holy night!
Son of God love's pure light
Radiant beams from thy holy face
With the dawn of redeeming grace,
Jesus, Lord at thy birth
Jesus, Lord at thy birth

Silent night! holy night!
Shepherds quake at the sight
Glories stream from heaven afar
Heavenly hosts sing Alleluia
Christ the Saviour is born
Christ the Saviour is born!

Gingerbread Houses

Hello, Dear Ones.
Most of you know my Mr. Precious has been retired now for about three years.
He is so busy and belongs to many organizations.
He came home the other day and said, "Look, I won the door prize!"

He won this wonderful little gingerbread house.
Well, maybe it's a gingerbread village but it's most darling!

Look at this house with all the stacked cookies on the roof!

Here's this little houses refection in the mirror
so you can see that the back is decorated as cute as the front.

The little A-frame house looks so yummy!

I think this little gingerbread house is my favorite ~
maybe it's because of all the chocolate! :)

Well, maybe this one is my favorite!
Look at the darling little windows.

The little gingerbread village is sitting on a huge round and bordered with CANDY!

There is even colored ice with sprinkles!
Is your tiny mouth drooling yet?

There are little snowmen carrying peppermints scattered all around.

You can imagine my joy when Mr. Precious said ~ this is yours!
It was made by a local lady and she had placed her calling card in the wrapping.
I emailed her and bragged on how darling this was and asked her if there was a wayI could preserve it?
She told me to let it air dry (the candy was still rather sticky) and then I could use a spray sealer and any kind would do. Well, that's just what I did. I let it dry for about a month then I grabbed up a can of spray paint sealer and went to town.
So hopefully I can find a box and lots of bubble wrap so I can keep this little cutie and use it again next year.
Have any of you kept your gingerbread houses before?

I've set this up in my dining room and I know little Carter, my little granddaughter,  will love this.
I flanked my gingerbread village with these two wooden Santies.
I really have to watch the Santies as they have a very hungry look on their little faces! :)

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~

Gingerbread

Gingerbread, gingerbread,
Yum, yum, yum, Yum, yum, yum.
I like gingerbread, I like gingerbread,
In my tum, In my tum.

Christmas on the Baker's Rack

Hello, Dear Ones!
I'm bringing you into my breakfast room today to show you my little baker's rack.

I just kinda shuffled things around and added some Christmasing.
Since I'm having a little almost 3 year old visiting during Christmas,
I didn't do too much here.
Just kept it simple and praying little hands don't break stuff! :)

I added the cute little wooden couple to the top shelf.
You know this is Mr. Precious and me.
Mr. Precious lost his wings a long time ago.
But as you can see I still have mine and a halo.
Just sayin' :)

I just love using my little Rooster dish holder on the baker's rack.
Brought out some sweet little Christmas dishes and poked down some Christmas greens and the second shelf was done.

This is the shelf where I keep my Le Creuset pots.
I poked down some garland and added the little Nut Cracker cookie press
my daughter gave me when she was in  high school.
He comes out of hiding each year.
Hope you're enjoying this time of year.
I'm so loving visiting your festive homes and almost tasting your delicious treats you're making.

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~

Love is Christmas

I don’t care if the house is packed,
Or the strings of light are broken.
I don’t care if the gifts are wrapped,
Or there’s nothing here to open.

Love is not a toy, and no paper will conceal it.
Love is simply joy that I’m home.

I don’t care if the carpet's stained; we've got food upon our table.
I don’t care if it’s gonna rain, our little room is warm and stable.

Love is who we are, and no season can contain it.
Love would never fall for that.

We sing oooooooooooooooo
Oooooooooooooo
Ooooooooooooooooooooooo

Let love lead us, love is Christmas.

Why so scared that you’ll mess it up? When perfection keeps you haunted.
All we need is your best my love, that’s all anyone ever wanted.

Love is how we do, let no judgment overrule it.
Love I look to you, and I sing.

Oooooooooooooooooo
Oooooooooooo
Ooooooooooooooooooooo
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Ooooooooooooooooo

Let love lead us, love is Christmas.
Let love lead us, love is Christmas.

The Reason We Celebrate

Hello, Dear Ones!
First of all I want to say how much I appreciate you all who silenced your blogs in respect for all those affected by the tragedy in Connecticut.
Our prayers continue.

 Now...
I love Christmas, don't you?
I love all of the Santa Clauses, the snowmen, the Christmas trees...all that.
But most of all I love what Christmas is all about ~
the birth of Jesus Christ!
I didn't use all of my Nativities this year but wanted to share the few I put out in the living room.

This is my oldest and most favorite Nativity!

 Sweet little baby Jesus.
I've told this story before, but if you're new here I'll tell it again.
When our children were growing up, each morning during the Christmas season little baby Jesus would not be in the manger. He would be on top of the stable or in the cow stall.
You just never knew.
It became a game...Mr. Precious would take baby Jesus out of His manger and place Him around the Nativity and the children would look for Him each morning.
Our kids are grown and married now,
but even now sometimes I look at my Nativity and baby Jesus is gone!
Mr. Precious still loves to play this game with me.
He's such a sticker! :)

I placed this Nativity on my piano.
Many years ago I gave this Nativity to my Mother and Daddy.
When Mother downsized she gave it back to me.
I love it too!

This Nativity usually sets on my coffee table and I placed it right here again this year.

No matter how busy we get, we must never forget why we celebrate Christmas,
this most wonderful time of the year!

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~

Mary's Song
(please read the words to this song it will so touch your heart. This is a song I heard on Christian radio many years ago in the late 1970s, taped it and wrote the words and chords down and sang it in church so many times through the years. I was going to sing it for you, but I can't get through it without my heart breaking and crying)

Oh, my little baby boy
My own little son, let me hold you near
And keep you warm
You're a beauty and a wonder to behold
Hush now, don't cry and I'll sing to you a lullaby
Sleep now my little Jesus boy

I wish I understood all te things the angel said
When he came to say I'd be your mother
Your name shall be Jesus, You shall be great
You're the son of the Highest
You'll sit on David's throne
And of Your kingdom there shall be no end
You're the Son of God
But You're my baby boy

The shepherds said the angels told
That You are Christ the Lord
The Savior who is born this day for them
But the Glory of the Lord has shown
And angels from above God's throne
Sing, "Rejoice, peace on earth, good will toward me."

What does all this mean?
As I'm rocking You, I wonder
You're the Son of God
But You're my baby boy

I look up and I see You hanging there upon the cross
The nails piercing through Your feet and hands
And in agony I watch You die with every dyeing breath
My God, My Son, I do not understand
Was is for this that You were born
For this, I gave You birth
You're the Son of God but You're still my baby boy

Oh, my little baby boy
My own little son, let me hold you near
And keep you warm
You're a beauty and a wonder to behold
Hush now, don't cry and I'll sing to you a lullaby
Sleep now my little Jesus boy

I Will Be Quiet

Dear Ones, I know your heart is breaking like mine
because of the horrible tragedy that has happened in Connecticut.

I've cried.
I've prayed.
I've cried some more.
I've even asked God 'why'!
My heart is breaking for the families and friends who have lost their loved ones
and my prayers are with them.

I know this world is filled with evil and senseless acts of violence.
I don't understand why.
But I know there is a God.
A good God.
A loving God.

Because of the precious lives of these children and their teachers who were slain,
I choose to keep my blog quiet Sunday, Monday and Tuesday out of respect for their family and friends.

Will you join me?

"So do not fear, for I am with you;
Do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."
Isaiah 41:10

Blessings,
Shelia :)
I've chosen to turn off comments for now.

I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~

Beauty Will Rise

It was the day the world went wrong
I screamed till my voice was gone
And watched through the tears
As everything came crashing down

Slowly panic turns to pain
As we awake to what remains
And sift through the ashes
That are left behind

But buried deep beneath all our broken dreams
We have this hope

Out of the ashes
Beauty will rise
And we will dance among the ruins
We will see it with our own eyes
Out of these ashes
Beauty will rise
For we know joy is coming
In the morning

In the morning
Beauty will rise

So take another breath for now
And let the tears come washing down
And if you can't believe
I will believe for you

'Cause I have seen the signs of spring
Just watch and see

Out of these ashes,
Beauty will rise
And we will dance among the ruins
We will see it with our own eyes

Out of this darkness
New life will shine
And we'll know joy is coming in the morning

In the morning,
I can hear it in the distance
And it's not too far away
It's the music
And the laughter of a wedding and a feast

I can almost feel the hand of God
Reaching for my face to wipe the tears away
You say "It's time to make everything new
Making it all new"

This is our hope
This is a promise
This is our hope
This is a promise

It will take our breath away
To see the beauty that's been made
Out of the ashes
Out of the ashes

It will take our breath
To see the beauty that He's made out of the ashes
Out of the ashes
Out of the ashes

Displaying My Glitter Houses

Hello, Dear Ones!
I've been waiting for this day for some time now to show you my little Glitter Houses on display.
I started making these little houses and churches way back in the summer
and couldn't wait for Christmas time to set them all up.
If you'd like to see how I made them, you can see my post HERE and HERE.
I'm joining the Pinterest Pinning Party at Debbiedoos

I painted my little breakfast room hutch with these little houses in mind back in September.
Yes, I do silly stuff like that ~ I really do!
I tossed down three white runners I had made years ago,
folded them up just right and poked one down on each shelf.
I just had to have some snow!

Okay, I'll start with the bottom shelf. I had one extra church and poked it down here.
I think this shelf is where the Baptists live! :)

Second shelf.
Now this little group got lost behind the trim
so I poked down lots of magazines to lift them up and put the snow on top!
It worked!
I'm so talented like that. You know you know that, don't you?
I really am teasing.

 The very top shelf.
These little houses and church are smaller than the rest but still just as cute.
Don't you love them?

I'll show you a close up of my little churches.
Now I made some of my doors and windows myself but found some graphics of doors and windows on the internet I liked and resized them to fit my little buildings and printed them out.
See, I told you I was talented! :)
Okay, okay! I bragged on myself too soon.
I know this little steeple is crooked.
You know...made by hand...oops! :)
But it's okay with me.
Here's some houses.
I got a little carried away with the Christmas balls on the one on the left.

These are the little bitty ones.
You can see the 'me' made door and window on the house at the left
and the prettier printed out ones on the house at the right.
Do you see the little Christmas tree in the window?
Here you can really see the Christmas tree and curtains in the window.
I'm feeling talented again! :)
Since I am so talented, :) I didn't put any windows in the blue house.
I'm sure it gets very cold in there!
I did have such a wonderful fun time making these little houses and adding all the little accessories.
You have to have little bottle brush trees with your Glitter houses and I found mine at
Michael's and Hobby Lobby along with the little folks and animals.
Some of these are for model train set ups, I'm just sure.

On with the cuties.
Look at this sweet little lambie pie!
One more little lambie pie and they are hanging out at the church!
I think they are going to be in the Christmas play.
...as the shoppers rush home with their treasures.
...with every Christmas card I write.
...oh, bring me some figgy pudding.
...pretty papers, pretty ribbons of blue.
 ...toy land, toy land.
 Doggies just love Christmas time.
And they are ever so obedient this time of year. :)

 So grab your keys or...
just jump into the horse drawn carriage and pop on in to see me.
Hope you've enjoyed seeing my little Glitter houses on display

I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~

Silver Bells

Silver bells, silver bells
It's Christmas time in the city
Ring-a-ling, hear them ring
Soon it will be Christmas day

City sidewalks, busy sidewalks
Dressed in holiday style
In the air there's a feeling of Christmas
Children laughing, people passing
Meeting smile after smile
And on every street corner you'll hear

Silver bells, silver bells
It's Christmas time in the city
Ring-a-ling, hear them ring
Soon it will be Christmas day

Strings of street lights, even stoplights
Blinkin' bright red and green
As the shoppers rush home with their treasures
Hear the snow crunch, see the kids bunch
This is Santa's big day
And above all this bustle you'll hear

Silver bells, silver bells
It's Christmas time in the city
Ring-a-ling, hear them ring
Soon it will be Christmas day

City sidewalks, busy sidewalks
Dressed in holiday style
In the air there's a feeling of Christmas
Children laughing, people passing
Meeting smile after smile
Soon it will be Christmas day
