Happy Halloween

Hello, Dear Ones and Happy Halloween!

Thought I would share a little lady bug with you today ready for some trick or treating.

Lady bugs can really jump high. Did you know that? :)

If lady bugs jump high enough they can just go ahead and fly.

If this lady bug takes off her antenna, it's Carter!!

My sweet girls!
Wish I could hug, kiss and actually give some candy to Carter but little packages in the mail will have to do!

Maybe it's good I'm not with my little granddaughter on Halloween.
I certainly wouldn't want to scare her! :)

We have so many trick or treaters come to Note Songs cottage so I have the candy ready.
Well, the good stuff is slowly getting scarce, wonder why?
You all be safe and have a wonderful Halloween.

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~

Bless This House
(these are the words of the theme song from Poltergeist, betcha didn't know it had words did you?)

As evening shadows grow deep and long
reaching across the bed
mother and father hear childrens prayers
now as they bow their heads
bless this house
bless this house
and the souls within
through the night til it's light again
guide our hearts
through the dark
to the breaking day
bless this house
bless this house
we pray
save me from bad dreams
if they should come
raging into my heart
keep us together one family
nothing can tear apart
bless this house
bless this house
and the souls within
through the night til its light again
guide our hearts
through the dark
to the breaking day
bless this house
bless this house
we pray
Give us arms to hold that are right and strong
when the night goes on too long
bring us a morning wide as the sea
where love will be our ark
standing together one family
nothing can tear apart
bless this house
bless this house
and the souls within
through the night til its light again
guide our hearts
through the dark
to the breaking day
bless this house
bless this house
we pray....

Till the Storm Passes By

Hello, Dear Ones.
Just a little short post today with a little more Falling.

My prayers and good wishes to all of my blogging friends in the path of this monster storm.
Be safe and know I'm thinking of you!

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song~

Till the Storm Passes By

In the dark of the midnight have I oft hid my face,
While the storm howls above me, and there's no hiding place.
'Mid the crash of the thunder, Precious Lord, hear my cry,
Keep me safe till the storm passes by.

Till the storm passes over, till the thunder sounds no more,
          Till the clouds roll forever from the sky;
Hold me fast, let me stand in the hollow of Thy hand,
Keep me safe till the storm passes by.
Many times Satan whispered, "There is no need to try,
For there's no end of sorrow, there's no hope by and by"
But I know Thou art with me, and tomorrow I'll rise
Where the storms never darken the skies.

Till the storm passes over, till the thunder sounds no more,
          Till the clouds roll forever from the sky;
Hold me fast, let me stand in the hollow of Thy hand,
Keep me safe till the storm passes by.
When the long night has ended and the storms come no more,
        Let me stand in Thy presence on the bright peaceful shore;
In that land where the tempest, never comes, Lord, may I
Dwell with Thee when the storm passes by.

Till the storm passes over, till the thunder sounds no more,
          Till the clouds roll forever from the sky;
Hold me fast, let me stand in the hollow of Thy hand,
Keep me safe till the storm passes by.

Falling Around with Little Richard

Hello, Dear Ones!
Yep, it was time to start Falling around with Little Richard.
If you didn't know, Little Richard is my olden buffet.
Didn't want you to get the wrong impression about me! :)

We're having some out of towns guests in for Thanksgiving and I just wanted to go simple with my decking out of the dining room.

 I said SIMPLE.

I poked down a glass cake stand, sat a tureen on top and surrounded it with a Fallen wreath!
Easy peasy.

 Like I said ~ easy.
This way I can move it easily when the Thanksgiving food comes out.
I'm so talented like this you know! :)

Now looking across the room on the other wall is my olden server.
Alas I didn't give her a name.
It's a good thing though that she and Little Richard are on opposite walls because they sure do make eyes at each other!

See? She even flirts using her mirror.
Well, getting back to the Falling you can see another really simple display.

I'm using my olden silver chest and poked down another tureen on it and just swirled a Fallen leaf garland around it. Kinda cheating isn't it? I don't care.

This is a sweet tray I won in a giveaway a few years back and just love it.

There you have it ~ Fall in my dining room.
Guess what? It's 55' here this morning and I just love it.
It's been so hot for soooooo long.
I just may go and put on some socks! :)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~ you know it has to be a Little Richard song! :)

Rip It Up

Well it's Saturday nite and I just got paid
A fool about my money don't try to save
My heart says go, go
Have a time 'cause it's Saturday nite babe
And I'm feelin' fine

I'm gonna rock it up

I'm gonna rip it up
I'm gonna shake it up
Gonna ball it up
I'm gonna rip it up
And ball tonite

Well I got me a date and I won't be late

I picked her up in my '88'
Shag on down by the social hall
When the joint starts jumpin'
I'll have a ball

I'm gonna rock it up

I'm gonna shake it up
I'm gonna rip it up
Gonna ball it up
I'm gonna rip it up
And ball tonite

Along about 10 I'll be flying high

I walk on out in the open sky
But I don't care if I spend much dough
'Cause tonite I'm gonna be one happy soul

I'm gonna rock it up

I'm gonna rip it up
I'm gonna shake it up
Gonna ball it up
I'm gonna rip it up
And ball tonite

Well it's Saturday nite and I just got paid

A fool about my money don't try to save
My heart says go, go
Have a time 'cause it's Saturday nite babe
And I'm feelin' fine

I'm gonna rock it up

I'm gonna rip it up
I'm gonna shake it up
Gonna ball it up
I'm gonna rip it up
And ball tonite

Floral Bounty

Hello, Dear Ones.
I wanted to bring you into my dining room today to show you the centerpiece on my table.

I was in Micheal's a few weeks back and found this cornucopia for $4.99!
You know I had to have it.

I know traditionally cornucopias are filled with fruit
but I wanted to walk on the wild side and filled mine with flowers!
I'm so talented like that you know! ;)

We all know that sunflowers just scream "Fallness"!
So I poked some in.
Now you know I'm using my fauxs.
Love my fauxs and my fauxs love me.
You've heard it before and you'll probably hear it again! :)

I've added some cat tails ~ puddy widdows! :)
As you can tell, they're faux.
But I love them and they love me!
You can tell, can't you?

Mums and berries finished out the doo.
Can cornucopias have doos?
Well, you bet your styling gel they can! :)

Then I poked down this pair of wooden candlesticks and placed (notice I didn't say poked)
orange candles all Falled up on top.

Oh, I've used my runner I made a while back.
I actually made it to use in the Springtime but I think she works for Falltime too, don't you?
She's a pretty creamy toile with two pinked edged ruffles.

Okie dokie!
There you have my Fallen dining room table and I hope you like it.

Count Your Blessings

When upon life’s billows you are tempest tossed,
When you are discouraged, thinking all is lost,
Count your many blessings, name them one by one,
And it will surprise you what the Lord hath done.
Count your blessings, name them one by one,
Count your blessings, see what God hath done!
Count your blessings, name them one by one,
Count your many blessings, see what God hath done.
Are you ever burdened with a load of care?
Does the cross seem heavy you are called to bear?
Count your many blessings, every doubt will fly,
And you will keep singing as the days go by.
Count your blessings, name them one by one,
Count your blessings, see what God hath done!
Count your blessings, name them one by one,
Count your many blessings, see what God hath done.
When you look at others with their lands and gold,
Think that Christ has promised you His wealth untold;
Count your many blessings money cannot buy
Your reward in heaven, nor your home on high.
Count your blessings, name them one by one,
Count your blessings, see what God hath done!
Count your blessings, name them one by one,
Count your many blessings, see what God hath done.
So, amid the conflict whether great or small,
Do not be discouraged, God is over all;
Count your many blessings, angels will attend,
Help and comfort give you to your journey’s end.
Count your blessings, name them one by one,
Count your blessings, see what God hath done!
Count your blessings, name them one by one,
Count your many blessings, see what God hath done.

Adding A Little Green To My Fall

Hello, Dear Ones!
I'm so excited to share with you today that I've painted my little breakfast room hutch!
I've added a little green to my Fall!

 Ta dah!!
What do you think?
I actually painted it before we left on our trip so it would dry really well.

This is how she's looked since I bought her off Craig's List about six years ago.

I painted her a very soft sweet green, the same color as Carter's little high chair and my little wanna be island in the kitchen.
You can see how awful the backboard is and that's why I had added
the red scrapbook paper to the back to hide the ugly.

I decided I wouldn't paint the top of the bottom piece and just left it alone.
I like the contrast.

Were you wondering what I did to the ugly backboard?
I added bead board wallpaper and I think it looks wonderful.
I'm patting my self on the back right now! :)
Yay me!

So I'm loving my newly painted spiffed up tiny little breakfast room hutch.
Well, I just couldn't stop there ~ I had to add Falleness to her shelves.
I tend to be on the symmetrical side when it comes to decking out my tiny little breakfast room hutch and this time I wanted to get away from that if I could.

Well, let's start at the top.
I poked up a basket overflowing with Fallness, a pumpkin and of course I always have to have a yard bird hanging around somewhere!
I did add some berries so my yard bird wouldn't get hungry.

Here's the top shelf all Falled up.

I love these little Fallen blocks.
They keep me straight just in case I forget what season I'm in.
It's still in the 80s here so I do forget from time to time.

The middle shelf is filled with Fallen cuteness!
If you know me I always need a little cuteness.
See the bead board wallpaper? It's just marvelous and covered up the uglies!

Isn't this the cutest little thing?
I found this little nut lidded bowl at a thrift shop and knew I must have it.
You know that tiny little squirrel is in hog heaven to have found such a huge nut! :)
Sometimes you feel like a nut, sometimes you don't! :)
Songs are always in my head, even TV commercials!
I'm so talented like this you know. :)

See the little trio of jack o lanterns?
Well, that's as scary as it's gonna get here at Note Songs cottage.
But they're not scarey they're really cute, don't you think?

Here I poked down complete Fallness.
I didn't do well at getting away from the symmetrical here.

I'm loving my newly painted tiny breakfast room hutch.
It's a great little piece and I play with it all the time but it needed to be freshened up.
She is so happy now and wakes me up each morning singing!

I love this stuff.

Evergreen

Love soft as an easy chair
Love fresh as the morning air
One love that is shared by two
I have found with you

Like a rose under the april snow
I was always certain love would grow
Love ageless and evergreen
Seldom seen by two

You and I will make each night a first
Every day a beginning
Spirits rise and their dance is unrehearsed
They warm and excite us, cause we have the brightest love

Two lives that shine as one
Morning glory and midnight sun
Time we’ve learned to sail above
Time won’t change the meaning of one love
Ageless and ever evergreen

~ sung by Barbra Streisand
