I'm Popping in to Say "Hello!"

Hello, Dear Ones!
I just had to pop in a minute and say how I've missed you all and wanted to share a little bit of my happiness with you!

We are having such a wonderful time with our girls while our SIL is in Germany!
My heart is just overflowing with love.

We'll be gone almost another couple of weeks and then home.
We will have been to 14 states by the time we get back to good ole Texas.

I always try to comment back to each of your comments to me
and ask if you will please forgive me on my last post and probably this one if I don't get back to you.
I promise when I get back home I'll get back to my regular routine.

It's so easy to have fun with little Carter! :)

My love to you all and thank you so much for visiting my little blog.
I just looked at my followers and realized I'm getting close to 1,000 followers!
I'm just amazed you have chosen to follow me so I thank you with all of my heart!

You're all my bunch of sweeties,
Shelia :)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~

My heart is singing a beautiful song...can you hear it? :)

A Little Bit of Hutching

Hello, Dear Ones.
Well, here I am again in my little breakfast room
just scooching and moving stuff around in my little tiny hutch.

You're probably tired of seeing my thrifted dishes
but
I just had to poke them on the shelves and play a bit more.

My little country maid just looked so perfect with these dishes so here she is.

I told you in my last post I had made some reversible napkins that I copied from
my friend Lynne at Lynne's Gifts from the Heart.
Here you can see both sides. Isn't this the neatest idea!

I threw down the veggie bowl and poked faux apples in it
then tossed down a Fallish pick.

Platter, bunny, egg cup with an apple.
This is Fallish, isn't it?

Here I've filled a little cloche with tiny apples.
Kinda apple sauceish! :)

I hope you've liked seeing my little hutch and don't mind seeing these dishes again.
I've been milking the heck out of them.

Oh, I almost forgot!
This little set of salt and peppers were given to me after my aunt Naomi passed away.
She was my Daddy's sister and just the sweetest lady you would ever want to meet.
She lived on a farm and gave me many cousins and I had my first bite of macaroni and cheese at her house and I can still remember her saying, "Shelia, just take one little bite for aunt Nay."
I held my nose, I'm sure, and took a little bite and fell in love with macaroni and cheese!

One more thing...
Just wanted you to know Mr. Precious and I are hitting the road in the morning
to go see our little grand daughter, Carter!
I'm thrilled beyond words!
We really are driving to up state New York
and are so looking forward to seeing the beautiful sights along the way.
We have been up in the attic gathering toys: Cabbage Patch dolls, My Little Ponies, stuffed animals, Barbies, and scrapbooks and photos. My daughter kept everything growing up and I've just kept all of her things. Now she's going to get them back! Even her wedding dress. :)

So I'll try to pop in and visit you when I can but probably won't be posting much
because I'm going to be playing with Carter! :)
Say a little prayer for us as we travel and
I'll see you all later with lots of grand baby snaps!

You are my bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~

A Song For You
I've been so many places in my life and time
I've sung a lot of songs I've made some bad rhyme
I've acted out my love in stages
With ten thousand people watching
But we're alone now and I'm singing this song for you

I know your image of me is what I hope to be

I've treated you unkindly but darlin' can't you see
There's no one more important to me
Darlin' can't you please see through me
Cause we're alone now and I'm singing this song for you

You taught me precious secrets of the truth withholding nothing

You came out in front and I was hiding
But now I'm so much better and if my words don't come together
Listen to the melody cause my love is in there hiding

I love you in a place where there's no space or time

I love you for in my life you are a friend of mine
And when my life is over remember when we were together
We were alone and I was singing this song for you

You taught me precious secrets of the truth withholding nothing

You came out in front and I was hiding
But now I'm so much better and if my words don't come together
Listen to the melody cause my love is in there hiding

I love you in a place where there's no space or time

I love you for in my life you are a friend of mine
And when my life is over remember when we were together
We were alone and I was singing this song for you

We were alone and I was singing this song for you

Sewing Up Some Tea Towels

Hello, Dear Ones.
Well I have to tell you my dainty talented fingers have been busy sewing.
Sorta, kinda busy! :)

I made some tea towels.
Don't you love the vintage look?

You may remember I found this pair of vintage kitchen curtains a while back.
Knowing I wasn't going to use them on my kitchen window,
I decided to make tea towels from them.

I just love the little lined up ladies and trees, don't you?

Of course I don't intend to actually use them
but they sure make pretty 'to look at' tea towels.

So my little new olden vintage tea towels are hamming it up in the kitchen.

It's really okay to chop up vintage fabrics especially when you end up with four little darling tea towels.

Changes

I took my love, and I took it down
I Climbed a mountain and I turned around
and I saw my reflection in the snow covered hills
'Till the landslide brought me down

Oh, mirror in the sky

What is love
Can the child within my heart rise above
Can I sail through the changing ocean tides
Can I handle the seasons of my life~~~
Mmmm mmm mmm

Well, I've been afraid of changing

'Cause I've built my life around you
But time makes you bolder
Even children get older
And I'm getting older too

(Interlude)

Well, I've been afraid of changing

'Cause I've built my life around you
But time makes you bolder
children get older
And I'm getting older too
I'm getting older too

So, take my love, take it down

ooh, if you Climb a mountain and you turn around
If you see my reflection in the snow covered hills
Well the landslide will bring it down

And If you see my reflection in the snow covered hills

Well maybe the landslide will bring it down
Oh the landslide bring it down

I've Not Fallen Yet

Hello, Dear Ones.
Before I get to my post today I have a couple of little things.
First of all, thank you all who went over to visit my new blog friend Sue at Sprucelake Cottate.
You are all such sweeties and always pull through.
Thank you! :)

Secondly, did you notice my header?
It's much prettier and Fallier isn't it?
Wish I could tell you I'm so wonderful and made this myself but I can't tell a lie.
I didn't do it.
My sweet friend Sonny at 155 Dream Lane made it for me!
Isn't it beautiful?
As much fun as it was playing at making my header at Ribbet.com,
I'm going to keep this up until we start Christmasing!!
Besides, this one is soooooooooooooo pretty and I just love pretty!
Thank you, Dear Sonny.
If you're not familiar with her blog ~ pop on over ~ you'll love it!

Okie Dokie...
I do see so many of you are Falling all over your blogs.
I really haven't starting Falling around my house yet.

You may remember these darling dishes I found a few weeks ago ~
Apple Valley by Pfaltzcraft.
$12 for a service for 8 plus a platter and veggie bowl.

I just couldn't bring out my Fallen looking dishes yet
without setting up one tablescape with these little cuties.
I didn't get a good snap of my napkins but I made eight reversible ones.
Now this is because of my friend Lynne at Lynne's Gifts From the Heart.
She is so talented and has been making these wonderful reversible napkins ~
so I copied her! :)
You can see the little print here and the reverse side is a creamy print.
I love this idea!

I popped down some of my very olden pink depression glasses.

In honor of the Apple Valley dishes,
I'm using some little apples instead of eggs in these little eggs cups.
I found the little egg cups at Cracker Barrel a few years back and they are reversible too.
There are little rabbits on the other side and little rabbits are peeping out all over on these dishes.

I took this floral arrangement I made a while back in this pretty milk glass basket
and poked in a few little apples!
I'm pretty clever, huh? :)
You know I'm teasing.

See? Ain't this cute?

I poked down some apple salt and peppers.

Oh my!
This little bunny is waiting for me to turn my back so she can take a bite out of those apples.

Well, every time I turn around, more bunnies are popping up.
These two are so in love.
Especially since the bunny on the left lost her ear and it was miraculously restored.
Now she can hear her honey bunny say, "I love you!"
Melts my heart!

Uh oh!
Two more bunnies.
I do believe the little one on the right has apple stuffed in those little cheeks.
Now I think I'll go buy some apples and make Mr. Precious an apple pie!

I'll Be With You in Apple Blossom Time

I`ll be with you in apple blossom time.
I`ll be with you to change your name to mine.
One day in May, I`ll come and say
Happy surprise that the sunshines on today.
What a wonderful wedding there will be.
What a wonderful day for you and me.
Church bell will chime,
You will be mine,
In apple blossom time.

I`ll be with you

(When?)
In Apple blossom time
(Then what will you do?)
Then, I`ll be with you to change your name to mine.
(When will that be?)
One day maybe in May,
(Then what will you do?)
I`ll come and say to you dear
Happy surprise that the sunshines on today.
Then what a wonderful wedding there will be
What a very, very wonderful day for you and me dear.
Church bell will chime,
You will be mine.
in apple,
in apple blossom time.

Let's Welcome Sue

Hello, dear ones!!

I've met a new blog friend and wanted to ask you to pop over and say hello to her.
You are all so wonderful to help out new bloggers and bring some traffic to newer blogs.

Her name is Sue and her blog is called Sprucelake Cottage.
She has an amazing collection of Fenton glass!

She's a fab decorator with many pretties to see.

She grows African Violets and look at that lamp!

She has one of those handy dandy hubbies and he made this darling birdhouse for her.

Guess what?
She has the same Royal Sealy Heritage Blue Onion tea pot and canister like mine!
There's a Rooster poked up there too!
A gal after my own heart.

I would just love for y'all to pop over and welcome Sue to the Land of Blog and tell her I sent you!
I know she would be thrilled.

Be a bunch of sweeties and thank you from my heart,
Shelia ;)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~

Getting To Know You

Getting to know you, getting to know all about you,
Getting to like you, getting to hope you like me,
Getting to know you, putting it my way, but nicely,
You are my cup of tea.
Getting to know you, getting to feel free and easy,
When I am with you, getting to know what to say.
Haven't you noticed? Suddenly I'm bright and breezy,
Because of all the beautiful things and new things
I'm learning about you day by day.

Here I Go Again

Hello, Dear Ones!

First of all, do you like my new Fallen header I've made?
I always make my own headers but my friend Barb at The Everyday Home
has a great tutorial on how to make your own headers using Ribbet.com.
So I thought if you're skeerd to make you own, this tutorial will take away all your fears.

Well, I hope you're not tired of seeing my thrifted canisters
but I just had to show you one more time.

I've moved them over to the baker's rack and this is where they're going to stay for awhile.

First of all, I flipped over my little little runners I made to the darker side for Fall and Winter.
I poked down a couple of little Rooster plates and of course, a Rooster.
There's my cookie jar poked up on some books ~ still cookieless.

The second shelf holds the canisters, tea pot and napkin holder.
Those little white Rooster salt and peppers where mine when I was a little girl.
I had a collection but only have a handful now.

This is my Le Creuset shelf.
These pots are just sitting so pretty on the third shelf
and waiting for their turn to be poked on the cooktop
to cook some tasty food for Mr. Precious and me.

Sunshine, Lillipops and Rainbows

Sunshine, lollipops and rainbows
Everything that's wonderful is what I feel
When we're together.
Brighter than a lucky penny.
When you're here the raindrops disappears
Dear and I feel so fine.
Just to know that you are mine.
My life is sunshine, lollipops and rainbows
That's how this refrain goes.
So come on Join In. Everybody.
Sunshine, lollipops and rainbows
Everything that's wonderful is sure to come your way
When your in love to stay.
Sunshine, lollipops and rainbows
Everything that's wonderful is what I feel
When we're together.
Brighter than a lucky penny.
When you hear the raindrops disappears
Dear and I feel so fine.
Just to know that you are mine.
My life is sunshine, lollipops and rainbows
That's how this refrain goes.
So come on Join In. Everybody.
Sunshine, lollipops and rainbows
Everything that's wonderful is sure to come your way
Cause your, your in love
And love is here to stay!
