Hello, Dear Ones!
I wanted to show you another little set up on my table in the den.
Here's a little village sitting in the snow!
I poked down a little white Christmas tea cloth and then covered it with quilt batting and I had snow!
Some of the little houses are olden and not particularly expensive but cute none the less.
Mr. Precious bought this one and the next one at a church auction a few years back.
I think I could live here!
This is a little village all in itself.
It used to light up but the years have caused it to go dark.
No fixing would work to make it light up again.
Doesn't bother me a bit.
The Christmasing is done on these little houses.
The garland is hung.
And...the choir is singing in the little church welcoming us all to come in.
The shopping is almost done.
A few years back we had snow at Christmas on our little island.
Well, I couldn't pass up a photo snap.
I fiddled with the snap to make it look more watercolory
and it sits here with the little village ever year.
Don't you just love Christmas time?
As adults we can feel like children again.
Well, I guess I feel like a kid all year round! :)
Just sayin'!
Shelia ;)
I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~
I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas
I'm dreaming of a white Christmas,
Just like the ones I used to know.
Where the tree-tops glisten,
And children listen
To hear sleighbells in the snow.
I'm dreaming of a white Christmas,
With every Christmas card I write,
"May your days be merry and bright,
And may all your Christmases be white".
I'm dreaming of a white Christmas,
Just like the ones I used to know.
Where the tree-tops glisten,
And children listen
To hear sleighbells in the snow.
I'm dreaming of a white Christmas,
With every Christmas card I write,
"May your days be merry and bright,
And may all your Christmases be white".
Just like the ones I used to know.
Where the tree-tops glisten,
And children listen
To hear sleighbells in the snow.
I'm dreaming of a white Christmas,
With every Christmas card I write,
"May your days be merry and bright,
And may all your Christmases be white".
I'm dreaming of a white Christmas,
Just like the ones I used to know.
Where the tree-tops glisten,
And children listen
To hear sleighbells in the snow.
I'm dreaming of a white Christmas,
With every Christmas card I write,
"May your days be merry and bright,
And may all your Christmases be white".
~ sung by Bing Crosby
Fake snow is the only kind I like, so I LOVE yours. We went to our church's musical last night with my son, daughter-in-law, their three daughters, and the tag-along three special guys. Family fun.

Shelia, your Christmas village is just delightful! I love the sweetness of it and the way you have the beads mingled in. I have a village also but didn't put it up this year. You are making me long to do so.

ReplyDeleteA lovely village it is, and I love that little house, if you live there I shall visit you in it! The church is very beautiful also. And like Maria Elena I've been wishing this season that I had a few buildings to start my own little village. Thanks for sharing with us, bet little Carter is going to think it's lovely, too! Mary
ReplyDeleteShelia- Your houses are so pretty. It makes me kind of miss my own. I passed them along to my children. I have never seen a complete village like the one you have where it is all formed together. It's too bad that you can't get the lights to work again- xo Diana
ReplyDeleteSweet and lovely village my friend. I love your pretty town. I hope someday to have one, too!
ReplyDeleteLove you girly~
Rebecca
Love your festive village displays. I love the Christmas season.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to spend the day in your Christmas village. It looks so festive and full of tradition. Love the "snow," too!
ReplyDeleteI love the vintage feel of those Christmas villages. My husband has a beautiful set, but since moving to this 950 sq. ft. house, we really have no place to set it up. Kinda sad.
ReplyDeleteYour little village is adorable! I love it all even the one that no longer lights up. All of our village pieces are packed with the trains. I have no idea if Joe will ever get them up again??? YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I do LOOOOOVE Christmas time! XO, pinky
ReplyDeleteYour village is lovely. Christmas is my favorite time of year.
ReplyDeleteYou are having way toooooo much fun!!! And you make everyone else feel like joining in!!! Bless you.....
ReplyDeleteLove your village Shelia! I have always wanted a little village- they are so cute. My friend has one and she and her grandkids create a new story using the village they set up- thought that was such a cute idea.

I love Christmas too. It's a wonderful time of the year. And my favourite Christmas movie is White Christmas with Bing Crosby and Dorothy Clooney and co. I only have 2 little Christmas houses but have loved looking at your village and all of your other Christmas posts. Magic.
ReplyDeleteblessings,
Diana
Very cute, I love that you added your house to it too. I loved standing and and looking into little villages like that when I was a little girl. :)
ReplyDeleteSo g.o.r.g.e.o.u.s Shelia, I love all of your Christmas posts but I adore this snow village - it cooled me down!! Hitting 30 deg here in the tropics today and we are working a sweat for Christmas! (The man who invented refrigerated air conditioning needs a medal)
ReplyDeleteHappy decorating - its all beautiful!

I love your darling snow village, Shelia. I could look at all the details for hours. Truly makes me smile to see each scene. I rarely put mine up and this makes me wish I had a great place to display it more often. That picture of your home covered in snow is amazing! I love that you display it near the village. :) Merry Christmas to you and your sweetie!
ReplyDeleteSheila, I think you hit it on the head - we get to feel like kids again!!
ReplyDeleteOf all of my decorating, the little ones love the village the best. They
are just fascinated by it. I have tried to take nice photos, but never
felt like they were blog-worthy! You have done such a nice job. Maybe
I will give it another try. I love your closeups. They show all of the
magical details.
What a gorgeous display Sheila! I love it! It's just magical and your little grand-daughter will love it! She will probably think you set up a real life doll village just for her. I know Addison thinks that about one of my little Christmas villages.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Cindy

ReplyDeleteChrsitmas is the one time that I do feel like a child again, for better or for worse. I love your little Christmas village, it's adorable, if I lived near you I would pop by for a closer look and to "play".
