Yippy Ti Yi Yay!

Hello, Dear Ones!
I know everyone is Falling and even some of you are Christmasing.
Not me!
I wanted to share with you a wonderful weekend Mr. Precious and I had recently!

We got the chance to go visit a ranch.
That's the little owner in the carriage and guess what?
He's 93 years young! What a little hoot he was.

Just look at these beautiful and spirited horses.
They were truly strutin' their stuff.

Now along with the ranch came a huge huge brick building which held one of the largest carriage collections in the U.S.

Aren't these just wonderful?

This is a very special carriage.

I was so excited to see this!
It was used in the movie Gone With the Wind!
Just think, Scarlet's bum sat on that seat! :)
Just so you'll know, I did touch the carriage with my most dainty fingers.

This was a darling little couple who posed for me.

Horse accoutrements! :)

Then we were ready for a hay ride to tour the fields.

We had a little companion who tagged along with us.
Meet Lulu.

Lulu was so energetic and ran ahead of us. Behind us. Beside us. When our hay ride truck bed stopped, she would hop on and give everyone kisses and hop off. Then she'd hop back on again and almost ate a lady's hat! :)
I just had to laugh.

On this ranch they raised bulls.
Aren't they something else?

There were little baby cows, calves.
I'm not very countrified with the correct country farm lingo so you'll have to excuse me.

Cute little babies.

Now I was a bit confused.
They said they raised bulls and I thought bulls were male but these were mommies to the little babies, so they have to be cow bulls.
That's right ~ these are mama bulls. :)

Those mama bulls and baby bulls did not scare little Lulu.
No, no Nannette, they did not!
She just decided she'd cool off in their drinking spot.
Just so you'll know, she jumped out of the water, wiggled off some water and jumped back on the truck bed with us.
What a little hoot.

It was just a gorgeous day and I felt like a kid playing out in the country.

Now I'll let you all get back to your Thankgivinging and your Christmasing and I just may join you.

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~

Happy Trails To You

Happy trails to you, until we meet again.
Happy trails to you, keep smilin' until then.
Who cares about the clouds when we're together?
Just sing a song and bring the sunny weather.
Happy trails to you, 'till we meet again.

Some trails are happy ones,
Others are blue.
It's the way you ride the trail that counts,
Here's a happy one for you.

Happy trails to you, until we meet again.
Happy trails to you, keep smilin' until then.
Who cares about the clouds when we're together?
Just sing a song and bring the sunny weather.

Happy trails to you, 'till we meet again.

~ sung by Roy Rogers and Dale Evans

  17. What a wonderful trip! I would have touched Scarlet's carriage too! I love seeing what a landoulet (sp?) is as I have just finished reading all of Jane Austin's novels and there are so many different carriages and of course, what kind you had, determined your status. I would love to see all of the different kinds in person!

  22. What a fun day you had down on the ranch. Such an interesting place with all the beautiful carriage collection. I actually just bought the movie "Gone With the Wind" to watch as I haven't seen it in years. I'll be watching for that scene with the carriage. I'm one of the ones who is already for Christmas! I decorated on Monday but the tree won't go up for a couple of weeks. Hugs, Pamela

You always have so much fun! Those Mama Bulls look ferocious! I wouldn't want to get in their way! I'm not Christmasing yet. I am removing some of the fallness though so I'll be ready. ;)

  28. Lulu is a hoot!! Reminds me of one of our sweet little doggies we had years ago. Caleb loved the water and loved to run everywhere. We had a galvanized tub that we kept full of water so he could jump in it and cool off after all his running!

Thank you for taking us on your outing!!! It was great fun!

  34. Hi Dear Shelia,
Sorry to have been away so long, but computer issues got the best of me. But I'm back up and running now. I see that you have been keeping yourself quite well zipping around in a horse drawn carriage with the Mister! What a romantic!
Hope you have a happy and blessed Thanksgiving!
