Falling Around with Little Richard

Hello, Dear Ones!
Yep, it was time to start Falling around with Little Richard.
If you didn't know, Little Richard is my olden buffet.
Didn't want you to get the wrong impression about me! :)

We're having some out of towns guests in for Thanksgiving and I just wanted to go simple with my decking out of the dining room.

 I said SIMPLE.

I poked down a glass cake stand, sat a tureen on top and surrounded it with a Fallen wreath!
Easy peasy.

 Like I said ~ easy.
This way I can move it easily when the Thanksgiving food comes out.
I'm so talented like this you know! :)

Now looking across the room on the other wall is my olden server.
Alas I didn't give her a name.
It's a good thing though that she and Little Richard are on opposite walls because they sure do make eyes at each other!

See? She even flirts using her mirror.
Well, getting back to the Falling you can see another really simple display.

I'm using my olden silver chest and poked down another tureen on it and just swirled a Fallen leaf garland around it. Kinda cheating isn't it? I don't care.

This is a sweet tray I won in a giveaway a few years back and just love it.

There you have it ~ Fall in my dining room.
Guess what? It's 55' here this morning and I just love it.
It's been so hot for soooooo long.
I just may go and put on some socks! :)

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~ you know it has to be a Little Richard song! :)

Rip It Up

Well it's Saturday nite and I just got paid
A fool about my money don't try to save
My heart says go, go
Have a time 'cause it's Saturday nite babe
And I'm feelin' fine

I'm gonna rock it up

I'm gonna rip it up
I'm gonna shake it up
Gonna ball it up
I'm gonna rip it up
And ball tonite

Well I got me a date and I won't be late

I picked her up in my '88'
Shag on down by the social hall
When the joint starts jumpin'
I'll have a ball

I'm gonna rock it up

I'm gonna shake it up
I'm gonna rip it up
Gonna ball it up
I'm gonna rip it up
And ball tonite

Along about 10 I'll be flying high

I walk on out in the open sky
But I don't care if I spend much dough
'Cause tonite I'm gonna be one happy soul

I'm gonna rock it up

I'm gonna rip it up
I'm gonna shake it up
Gonna ball it up
I'm gonna rip it up
And ball tonite

Well it's Saturday nite and I just got paid

A fool about my money don't try to save
My heart says go, go
Have a time 'cause it's Saturday nite babe
And I'm feelin' fine

I'm gonna rock it up

I'm gonna rip it up
I'm gonna shake it up
Gonna ball it up
I'm gonna rip it up
And ball tonite
~ sung by Little Richard

  1. Good morning Miss Shelia! what a lovely dining room. I love the plates on the wall and love the color of paint on the wall. I'm impressed with all your skills too...moving the decor for the food. Yes very impressive.
Have a wonderful day my dear!
    Blessings,

  2. Good morning my most sweetie!
Love your dining room. I think you should invite us all over for Thanksgiving and feed us! LOL
I may not use my dining room this year for Thanksgiving, I've been invited by my son (an only child) and his family to spend Thanksgiving in the Pocono Mountains (they'll rent a house). Since I am a widow, it can get very emotional for holidays. So this will be a delightful change. I will still cook of course and we will haul it all up to the mountains! (sounds so Little House on the Prairie-ish huh?) But I'm sure we will have a great time.
Have a great day M'dear and enjoy your Texas "Fall" weather! ;-)

  4. Happy Saturday, Shelia!
What a beautifully appointed room. I really like all your fall touches and the wall display is lovely. =)

I've had my socks on for awhile now, it's been chilly here in Washington State, and I've had the fireplace on every morning. =) Enjoy the cooler temperaturs and your gorgeous home decorated for Fall, love it! xoxo ~Liz

  6. Looks beautiful, I am sure Little Richard might have some tasty food or desserts resting on him for the big day. Glad it cooled down for you, we're prepping for "Frankenstorm" (:/) xo

  7. Hi Shelia!

It looks nice but knowing you I bet you will rearrange things a few more times before Thanksgiving comes around, after all that is a whole month away! Btw... it's wonderful that you are having guests for the holiday.

I know how you feel about the weather. It is finally getting down to the mid 60's at night and only in the high 80's in the daytime. This time of year is wonderful here in the desert!

  16. Very pretty, Shelia! Your guests are going to love it. You really make the best floral arrangements around. I was thinking of using my soup tureen in my mantelscape (because I have never used it for anything else!!), but I forgot about it.

55 degrees, wow! You must have been delighted after this awfully hot summer!

    Have nice Saturday evening!

  23. Hi Shelia, I love little Richard. I reminds me so much of the buffet mom had when I was young. I remember there was a light on it made of seashells and coral. It's been raining here for the last two days...I sure hope this hurricane doesn't bring a lot of snow to us here in Ohio. The kids will be trick or treating in their snow boots! I hope your having a good Sunday!!

  24. Hi Shelia, I love the use of the soup tureens for decorating. It is very pretty and traditional. We think alike and traditional is our style for the most part. Am I right? HA!I have a small collection of tureens and love the look of them. I just found a brown glazed one that I use often. It keeps the soup nice and hot. I love your style my sweetie friend.
    Love,
    Jeanne xo

  40. That's how I did our little buffet/chest in our dining area, Shelia ~ simple and I used my tureen, too! I loved that I was able to find a small Fall wreath that I was able to set the tureen on top of and it said Fall so simply. I love that little divided tray.
