Hello, Dear Ones!
Some of you saw that I painted the backs of my builtins green on either side of the fireplace in the den HERE.
A few of you commented on my pretties on the shelves so I thought I would share with you what I poked down on them.
This is the side by my chair where I sit.
The funniest thing, well it doesn't very sound funny, but I'm going to tell you anyway.
After taking everything off the shelves and painting the backs green I looked at my pile of stuff and thought where am I going to put all of this?!
Well, I'm just so smart and all and went right to my blog and pulled up my post many months back when I had changed things around on this side and just copied what I'd done before.
Told you I was smart! :)
Told you I was smart! :)
This is the dog house side that many of you commented on.
Before I take you inside the dog house I thought you must see this darling little doggy lamp that keeps the light on for all the other dogs.
Isn't he sweet?
Still not showing you a dog yet but a really pretty piece of pottery we got in Orvieto, Italy.
I've decided to put it in the dog house just because.
The dogs just love bright colors.
Well, one more non dog piece - my big ole pretty crystal vase which weighs a ton.
The dogs love this too! :)
Okay, now here are some dogs.
I have Staffordshire dogs, fake Staffordshire dogs and just dogs that I like!
The bottom one is from Portugal and his mate is on the other side of the dog house.
On the middle shelf is the twin to my doggy lamp.

The previous owners used this as a gun cabinet and I guess that's why they put glass doors on each end and then in the center there's two sliding glass doors.
My doggys are all so sweet and obedient.
This is the other side of the cabinet.
I laugh every time I see the little couple on the second from the top shelf.
They never stop laughing and giggling! :)
Well, hope you've enjoyed seeing my dogs in my dog house.
Woof woof!
:)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~
How Much Is That Doggy In The Window
How much is that doggie in the window (arf, arf)
The one with the waggley tail
How much is that doggie in the window (arf, arf)
I do hope that doggie's for sale

I must take a trip to California
And leave my poor sweetheart alone
If he has a dog he won't be lonesome
And the doggie will have a good home

I read in the papers there are robbers (roof, roof)
With flashlights that shine in the dark
My love needs a doggie to protect him
And scare them away with one bark
With flashlights that shine in the dark

I don't want a bunny or a kitty
I don't want a parrot that talks
I don't want a bowl of little fishies
He can't take a goldfish for a walk

ReplyDeleteYour shelves are just beautiful! So full of life! Love the green background!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing all your doggies with us - what a great collection you have, and the doggie lamp is just right to shine on the other little guys and gals. I'm still seriously loving your green background on the builtins. I sit and look at my dark brown builtins and I say, "Be like Shelia, just get up and do it." But I don't. Too tired, too achy, too old, too ... let's be honest, too lazy ;) Maybe one day!
ReplyDeleteThis post certainly brought big, big, big smiles to our faces (that includes my two girls!) BTW, I think dogs in Bulgaria say "ruff ruff!"
ReplyDeleteShelia what a unique collection. Love it. The last one with the bow is so cute.
ReplyDeleteOh my what beautiful built-ins filled with treasures! Grace
ReplyDeleteI just love your dog house to pieces! Love the green on the back of the shelves too. Such a soft and restful green. Have a wonderful weekend you sweet girl!

ReplyDeleteOh,dear friend...I love your cabinet background hue! I'm sure the change makes you smile whenever you enter the room!!! Not a big "canine" fan, but "doggone" if you don'thave the cutest collection of dogs...no "bones" about it, for sure! Thanks for humoring me, dear one! Have a wonderful weekend!
Fondly,
Pat

Sheila- What fun- I know all about cleaning something out and then wondering where all the stuff was ever going to go? lol You did a good job and I LOVE your dog collection. xo Diana
ReplyDeleteShelia, your dog house is packed with cute cannines. I like them very much but how does Chloe Dawn feel about so many other cannines in the house? The pottery from Italy has pretty colors and the handles with the special details are wonderful. Your entire room looks very pretty and comfortable. ----------- Shannon
ReplyDeleteI had to grin when I got to the bottom of the post because I KNEW what the song of the day would be! :) I love to play that on the piano..and belt it out when I am all alone...ok..so you can't "belt" that sweet song out... :) I love the fifties songs. I miss them..
ReplyDeleteWhat great collections you have and I absolutely adore the green you painted on the backs of the cabinets! My favorite color..as you know...this year.
Everything looks so pretty..and the doggie lamp is my favorite thing today.
Hugs and thanks for your sweet comment.
~Mona~
You have the prettiest collections of dogs...roosters, and so many other pretties to compliment your shelves. I would love built in shelving like that!
ReplyDeleteHi Shelia, I have one minute to say hello. We are off to see some antiques. Your shelves are gorgeous and I too love your dogs. The color of green is my fave. Good job my very smart friend. I agree that you are smart and talented in so many ways. I mean it from my heart dear Shelia. I am so happy we could meet each other.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the results of your hard work to make your built-ins beautiful.
Love, Jeanne
